  1. Ok commercial cache has one or more of the following characteristics: 1. It requires the finder to go inside a business, interact with employees and/or purchase a product or service. If a cache goes into a business get the cache and does not interact with anyone or pay to go in that is ok? http://coord.info/GC2THQN http://coord.info/GC2HGYK what about a cache that requires you to interact after you pay to enter? http://coord.info/GC261RZ I want to put a cache in a business but was told that it can not go into a business at all. feel like its fine for them not for me so need to vent.. thanks
  2. yeah that is me maybe one of the powers who be could make a templet for multi coin events, and keep the elephant out of the room. saying that a GS approved item can not be sold at a GS event is bogus.
  3. A trackable coin to commemorate this event has been minted and will be sold at the event for $11 each. Because of the significance of the day, the coin features a red poppy associated with Veteran’s Day. The coin colors are unique to the Michigan event.
  4. but there are so many other event listing published with much more blatant sales ,,, I guess what has me the most is that there have been oh the 999 the 101010 even the multi event coin events so why not talk about the elephant in the room... are we selling personal items, yeah those paid for to the site for a Icon personal.. There needs to be a Geocoin event guideline for commercialism that applies to every event not just those of certain volunteers... put a word here a word there and you are not selling strange goods. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh climbs off soap box for now
  5. Howdy ok I lied I am pissed submitted the Mesa Arizona event and get this reply Log Date: 8/31/2011 Hello, I have reviewed your geocache submission for listing on the website. I'm writing to ask you to edit your cache description to remove the text that talks about the Geocoin sale, because commercial caches/event are not permitted. If you remove this text, you should be fine: This is a collectable, but fully trackable geocoin designed for all of the events making up the multi-event all around the world, with each individual event having it's own unique coin color scheme. Colored by Jake. Limited to only 50 coins, available at the event Cash $11USD. Please consult the guidelines and requirements for placing a cache, and specifically the section titled 'Commercial Caches', found here: http://support.Groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=307#commercial where the guidelines state:
  6. Getting a picture with Bryan and not remembering the name of this person
  7. ha I found it working just fine.... which of course after I inadvertently erased it off of GE v4.3 then upgraded to 5.0 and using your link as the one on the Geocaching page is not there anymore..
  8. I would wait a couple of days as this happened with the halloween coin. I guess it has to do with putting one foot in front of the other while the right hand does not know what the left is doing, but all is well... I am trading one for another coin so have not tried to activate it like I Really want to do. I want to see what cool Icon it comes with...
  9. ordered 2 as I wish I would have done so with the Halloween version.
  10. I was just thinking as I have heard a couple of other coin sellers having minting issues, I too am frustrated as one of the coins I ordered was to trade for a proximity coin, I might just have to look for a 2007 version to buy.. Outside of the dreaded dragonfly I have only had positive experience with them and because of that will hope for an extra Christmas present..
  11. Why have a PMO cache? is there something special about a altoids tin? is there something special about a ammo can in the mountians? is there something special left as a trade item?, oh wait those are the exception because anything worth trading is taken.. See if PMO caches were so special and unique they when found would not be like all the rest....it is a cancer that those who think PMO caches will not be muggled ect. can exercise their Hugo upon...
  12. I guess this goes to the point and had I not been on the phone with a fellow cacher searching for a cache would not have seen a cache post so I went for a FTF, I should have waited to make my post, but as requested I will fill in a bunch of Blanks.. First off is Geocaching a pay to play sport/site? I think not but it seems with all these little camel noses happening it is forcing it that way. Ok I can see asking for money to get a Icon ie coins and travel bugs. asking for money to get additional search features such as PQ's. but with the mutation of PM caches it becoming more of a pay to play. anyone who creates an account can find a cache using the search features. If a PM hides a cache making it PMO it still shows to us regular folk, cant see the page but can see and find the location, as I have personally done for each of the caches that show. I have noticed as of late that they have been excluded doing a geocaching/google maps search but can be seen in the caches nearby link. I am sure that the we want more money crowd is working to fix that as well, just like closing the back door. Oh yeah don't let the cold air out.. Is Geocaching a pay to play?? What is the saying about the camels nose??? Connect the dots folks paying a fee to find/log a cache should never become mandatory...the end of free caching...
  13. We already told you that is what the problem is. You are doing a bunch of things on your own cache. It is when someone tries to do something on someone else's cache AND we have already tested it. But enjoy your hike. Ok things you are missing... Does the cache show on a nearby caches search? Can the location be found using the tried and true caches near coordinate search? Can those caches when found be logged by all who see them? Wait only the PM cache can be logged/accessed by PM!! As I see it and saw it if a regular member can see a PM caches location and find its location for free I should not have to pay to log it..yeah the solution is either is Geocaching a pay to play site?? driving people that way is a death knell..
  14. Sorry, the owner of this listing has made it viewable to subscribers only. I got this message when using the Jeremy said would never close back door log on a members only cache... sad sad
  15. Team Evil Fish had incorporated the Mutts.. I have been having interesting times caching with them on a leash Clover 10y Collie Lab mix Ozz 2y Black Shepard/Dobbie Moon 7y Corgi/Retriever
  16. Kinda funny I would really wish that whom ever is in charge of activation codes would be a bit more on top of it, I would have liked to have activated my coin prior to tonights event. The coin looks and Feels GREAT!!
  17. Nobody knows??? We have the same question here in the Netherlands! Unlike the originally distributed Geocoins, these coins are unactivated and may be activated by the purchaser. I say we email support@oakcoins.com lots of times until they answer...
  18. I ordered what I could, Now I just want one in hand..
  19. My question/s is how high will the price go before we see it all?? and will it arrive prior to the 31st of Oct-08?
  20. http://unite.geocaching.com/ They are selling the coins again but where do you activate it ?? that is get the code.
  21. Hi I would think that it would sorta depend on what type of vehicle on drives..
  22. would it be possible to get a coin or 2 for this event?? http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...1d-698f674a583c
  23. I noticed this problem at about the same time the new Google maps feature was changed from the cache pages.
  24. Could this be why so many MICROS have been placed!! People are tired of finding junk/trash in a cache as trade items, so they put out a cache that has no room for it...
