  1. Added thought, Gal Pals, can be fun. Friends and family too, but I just don't like to wait till others timing fits into my schedule. So away I go and have fun! But I choose safe areas and carry a cell phone, and yes, I do some night caching in areas I feel are safe.
  2. If I had to wait for someone to cache with or have a dog or a gun I guess I would have to cross caching off my list of things to do.
  3. Welcome and Congratulations to a newbie Cache-Cadian. Robinego's first caching experience was April 9, 2004, now 11 days later she just got her 52nd cache. Good Job Robinego, and welcome to the Cache-Cadians.
  4. Once we stopped to do a scenic cache just off of a ferry boat ride. Another car stopped also. A man headed up the same hill we were going as I came around the corner there he was making his own scenic waterfall. I never could figure it out. He could hear us climbing up the hill behind him and there was an outhouse about 500 feet away. Figured he must have thought he had something interesting for Show and Tell. I saw and told but wasn't impressed.

    Help!

Thanks Moun10bike and others, for your Westside hospitality. As for the rest of you wetsiders, excuse me, I mean Westsiders, I just thought you would love sharing your favorite hides or finds to visitors. Thanks anywho.

    Help!

Sounds fun, I may have to visit my own Library first to check on Title ideas for these obscure books. Thanks, anymore suggestions of must do's out there?

    Help!

Help! I need to get my 600th cache found before May 8, (two year anniversary of caching) so this Eastsider is invading the Westside of the Cascades this weekend to accomplish the goal. I will probably find it on Saturday or Sunday, depending on how successful I am. (26 caches to go) I will be caching in the Tacoma, Olympia, area. So my friends, please advise me on some great caches not to miss out on and which would be perfect for my 600th. I am not a mountain climber so no difficult ones please, (Time is an issue). I like challenges and scenic the best. I am open to micros or real caches container, but for the big one probably a scenic cache. Time wise multi-caches will probably not be prudent and I will also be caching with friends who have children. Please send your suggestions before Friday as I will be leaving Friday a.m. and will be going over Snowqualime Pass. Any and all memoriable cache suggestions welcome. Even the good vertuals Thanks ~ Patudles
  9. CONGRATULATIONS on #200! Keep on cachin. ~ Patudles
  10. Cache should be rated a 4/4. Our group was the the first and only to log a find. My grandfather started looking for this cache on July 22, 1587. I was born just 27 days later. My family had come all the way from England just to find this cache. Rations were running out and we still couldn't find the cache. Grandfather had to return to England to get more rations. Meanwhile after many difficulties & hardships we located the well hidden cache, claiming the first find. and beings there was no log book in the cache we made our own and signed it. (CRO) The local Indians being newbies created their own log book also and signed. (CROATOAN) After finding the cache we hid our own cache for Grandfather to find when he came back leaving clues in the logs of the first cache. To this day grandfather has not found our cache nor has anyone else! Virginia Dare You can read of our adventures at: http://usparks.about.com/cs/parkhistory/a/virginiadare.htm
  11. The Cache-cadians welcome all of you who are coming over to enjoy a sunny day of caching and a evening of.... well who knows what? Maybe even a nightime cache find for those who dare and bring a warm jacket.
  12. I'm a single, grandma cacher, friends introduced me to caching about 18 months ago. I found over 400 caches my first year. I cache alone or with friends or family. It's a great sport and have met some wonderful people geocaching. I have a red head's complection (freckles and sunburn) along with red highlights in my brown hair. Cache on women cache on!
  13. We hear all the bad experiences out there about TB's missin in action and so forth. How about the good guy stories? I just went to check on a cache today and found it missing. So I was really bummed out. It wasn't my cache it belonged caching buddy of mine & I had helped him with it. When I got home I posted a note on the cache page about the missing cache. Later the cache owner calls me & tells me it had been found. It seems a county clean-up crew man found it & took it to a supervisor. The supervisor read the info & took the ammo can to a nearby cache & then logged a find and told us where it was at. Way Cool!! Maybe we will have a new cacher out there.
  14. Glad to see this thread, I've been eyeing a bug that has been sitting in a cache near me for a few weeks. I've left him alone because I've been accused of bug grabbin. I try to get as many TBs as I can. (their fun) I also feel sorry for them being left alone for long periods of time. They need human conpanionship to help them on their way.
  15. There is one in Lake Chelan, WA 100 feet down. No one has gone to it yet. There is a new one in Lake Cour'dlane not quite so deep but you still have to use scuba gear to cache.

    Party!

Would if I knew how. I am fairly new at this. I didn't know it was available. So when I clicked on it, it just told me I wasn't part of any private conversations. How do I make it private from here. Does that just mean what people tell me will be private or what?

    Party!

I had been planning a geo-event for a special occasion in someones life, where all who attended could log in a find. After reading about onetime events and the overload it causes the workers I decided this idea was out. Anyone out there have any sneeky ideas how to plan a suprise party for a cacher that would include other cachers, and include a cache or two to log on. I'd like to make it a game of some sort and maybe a multicache that part of it could be left as a cache afterwards. Any ideas would be helpful. ~Thanks Patudles
  18. My son placed one that you either have to white water kayak or river raft to. So far he has had only two hits. The nerve of it is he didn't take me to it this year. Now I have to wait till the water is high enough (next spring) to raft to. It is on a Class 3/4 whitewater river. Wheeee!
  19. AOL Travelers My son & wife started a TB for me in Boston, as gift while on vacation. First person to find it still has it and has never logged it off of the original site. Soooo disapointing. Now I am leery of starting my own out on journeys. Afraid it will break my heart to see them get lost. I always try to send the ones I find on their way within two weeks. Occasionally it took longer due to unforseen circumstances. Such as when you find a new cache and you had planned to put it in it because it was headed in the correct direction, only the cache was in such bad condition you didn't dare leave the TB in it. So TB came back home to await another trip.
