  1. Heya Hawaiian cachers. I will be visiting the island of Oahu in a couple of weeks, and am looking for some interesting activities or caches I should do when in your lovely state. I have previously cached on Maui, and had a blast, successfully distracting myself from an otherwise cursed trip. (Grandfather who unknown to us was not only suffering a form of dementia but also an infection of his bladder and medicine complications that cut his trip short by a week, plus my brother having a diving accident that left him with air in his chest cavity and a three day hospital stay). However this trip I shall be attending with my mother and father plus my brother again. While my mom and dad have cached before on Maui, presently my dad is suffering from congestive heart failure and only has about 28 percent of his heart working(thus our original trip to Maui was a family 'you never know' trip). My mom will no doubt be glad to go off with me on a few longer walks/hikes, my dad (if I can convince him to go) will be more interested in those more easily accessible cool stops to check out. My brother.. well I haven't made a cacher out of him as yet, but you never know. I thank you in advance for any cool spots and caches you might recommend. Koakai (who did not know his name was Hawaiian until a pair of kind cachers let him know at Geowoodstock 6)
  2. My own personal coin is non-trackable.
  3. They are something the Landsharkz whipped p for me. Let me see, 23mm width, 1.5mm thickness. So basically the same size as a pathtag. I'm just dropping them in caches I visit, not trading them. Sorry folks.
  4. Was out and about on Friday and look what arrived when I was gone! My personal tokens are now here and I can hardly wait to start dropping them whereever I go.
  5. I was doing a cache near a popular lake for weekend trips up here in Canada. I had pulled into a completely empty pull off and was down the trail to find a cache. On my way back up the trail, what did I spot going on against a wrecked car in the bushes off the trail? You guessed it. I think I paused for a second, and they did do, and then I just kept on walking back up the trail to my car. You figure with someone's car parked in the lot, they might have had a moments thought about messing around five feet from the trail.
  6. I tend to take out my diamond burrs and go through the enamel until I hit metal, or at least make a goosd seat for the drill bit. The one time I didn't do this, I managed to take a large chunk out of the enamel on one side of a coin. Whoops! Thankfully it was a design where having the hole there overshadowed any effect by the missing enamel.

  8. Two Robert's Personal (they look just awesome) February Signal Geocoin (meh. glitter snow is cool though)
  9. A couple of Days Ago: 1st Geocache in Canada Police Geocaching Squad Silver Today: 2 new Canada coins, one for the binder, one to travel.
  10. For a moment there I thought my number would be a big fat zero, but I managed to find two coins. One on page 17 and one on page 18. That only takes me 38.4km away. both of thsoe spots take some travelling to get to. One is off-road accessable, and the other is a hike up a mountain ridge line. Only one WJTB, and it is missing. A fair number of TB's. Too many to bother counting.
  11. Not quite sunset, but still the same sort of effect. The final cache of the Valley Decathalon GCMEAC.
  12. One of my hobbies is the making of silver jewlery items. However I am still quite the amateur at it, so on occation if I have a piece that I am not 100 percent happy with, or if I need a special item for a cache, I use one of those pieces. I had a bunch of silver swords I used when I first started caching, total outlay, maybe 5-6 dollars each in silver. I have started to play with enameling on copper and silver, and have been making simple F.T.F. token for my caches. I'malso slowly attempting to make a few signature 'coins', to put into caches using this method, but I am very slow at it, because any day I have off, I usually tend to wind up headed out the door to go caching.
  13. I was fortunate enough to get a quick peak at the new coin at a cache event in early March. I am looking forward to being able to get my hands on one of these.
  14. These coins looks like they will be just plain great. Put me down for a set when they come out.
  15. Sign me up for a set. I just can not resist them.
