which case would you recommend and what are the specs of how your gps fits into the case? I'm debating between the Pelican 1300 and the Pelican 1400. 1300: 9.87" x 7.00" x 6.12" (25.1 x 17.8 x 15.5 cm) 1400: 11.81" x 8.87" x 5.18" (30 x 22.5 x 13.2 cm) Space is an issue since I will be backpacking. I want to keep the contents (GPSMAP60CS and extra batteries) bone dry and shock free. What would you guys recommend?

I'm now looking for a case which I will be able to store my 60CS, all software, cables, and other cases for either travel or storage. I would like a hard sided case but am having a hard time finding a case which would fit the situation. I have looked at even Vanguard unviersal electronics cases but haven't seen anything appropriate. Have any of you found or use a case like this or where/by what company have you heard of that may have what I am looking for. For right now I'm just looking for suggestions. Thanks for any help!

Besides the size of the Chunks are there any other differences between CS and CN? I also wanted to know about Metroguide. Anyone know benefits besides map sizes?

Was looking at getting a metropolitan map for my GPSmap 60CS however after a couple days of research I have found that 2 (possibly 3) city map programs are available from Garmin, the two that I need to choose from are City Select and City Navigator. What are the differences and which would you guys suggest for a 60CS?

What are the specs on your mapping software(s) and would you be willing to post a pic to see condition of the GPSr?

I was just wondering, what is the current latest Firmware out for the 60CS?

Now that I think of it this GPS will work just fine for what I need it to do. And thanks JohnnyVegas for bringing up needing new gear, I just remembered that I need a new ice axe. Thanks to all that have replied, and keep posting I'll still check up in it.

Your items still for sale?

Well I'm an avid backpacker and want to use it on trail, while mountaineering (where reception won't be a problem), and during road travel. Probably 20-30% of my trail travel seems to be under tree cover. With amazon, I have 30 days to return it so my next question would be to either: -Return immediately -Wait unti Jan 10, to make my decision Or what else do you guys think. Opinions? Thanks.

On the 28th of December I purchased a Garmin GPSMAP 60CS for about $370. On the 29th I found out through these forums that Garmin was preparing to release (Jan 10?) a 60CSx which apparently has amazing reception (which is one thing really I need/want in a GPS). My question is what you would do if you were in my situation? I know that I would definetly return the 60CS if it were in that price range however I predict that it will be more towards the $500 mark. What do you guys suggest?
