  1. Heres a shot of us behind one of a few mountains of pulled ivy we created today at A Mission at Mission Creek Park a before and after of one spot we pulled from.
  2. I will still be interested in 10-15 cans depending on final price. And other folks in Olympia have expressed interest, so that number could go up. Also have a truck to assist moving them within a reasonable distance.
  3. Woot! I almost forgot how nice it is to see easily where the clusters are to go after. This rocks! Thanks much. I really hate the thought of those maps going away. There is absolutly no replacement that Ive found so far to easily see at a glance where I have cleaned out and where I still can go for a good day of caching. Those check marks make that search so easy and clear. Find another map that does this state wide, all at once and I'll make the switch. until then this feature cannot be matched. Yes, when it comes time to actually move around and research caches I switch over to Google maps. But this one shows entire areas like no other map can.
  4. I'm in for 10 of em please. thanks kindly. I live close to Fort Lewis so can meet there depending on pickup time/date. Or will be attending The Fling.
  5. I'd be willing to buy some. I'm also going to be helping out at the Fling. So could take some there for you as well. Would need to know when the pickup would happen though before a 100% guarantee that I can be there when you are happens.
  6. quick offtopic question. Does anyone know why/how to fix this problem I have. The grafic on the brochures and cards will not print. I'm only getting the words and nothing else. Blank space where the grafics are. Any help on this? On topic. several incidents that all ended well. So far only 1 LEO didn't know what caching was and continued to give me the evil eye the entire conversation. Rather frusterating to be considered guilty of something when I was completely open and honest about my activities. I wish it was required in the training of LEOs to be informed of activities like caching. All the rest knew about it and once I mentioned what I was doing, the contact ended quickly.
  7. snip We've already had this conversation. It is sad that you have to be so childish to go and post it in the Groundspeak forums. You are upset because I have two yellow jeeps that I refuse to leave in a cache because I don't want them to disappear in two days never to be seen again. Groundspeak has already said once the contest is over that the Jeeps are up for grabs and people can choose to do what they want with them. I am choosing to share them with everyone by having them visit events. I am yet to have an owner complain about any travel bug that I have had. When an owner complains to me about the way I am handling their trackable item I will be happy to address their concerns. I have rarely held onto anything for more than a few weeks and intend to keep it that way, with the exception of the yellow and white jeeps which I will always be happy to trade in person with anyone. Thanks for your concern and feel free to contact me directly in a less childish manner next time you have a concern! I mean come on, first you post directly to a travel bug page, and then here? Grow up, if you have something to say to me say it directly to me. Thanks for ensuring that cachers who don't go to events will have even less of an chance get to log a jeep. Funny how the jeeps I do find traveling seem to move along just fine until someone decides that a childs toy car is a personal possesion. Last time I checked, the mission/goal on all jeeps reads: "Current GOAL: Move me to another cache so I can meet another geocacher." Or "Current GOAL: Log your visit, and move me to a new geocache! " No where does it say "keep me, I'm yours to do what you want with." Its this hoarding mentality that causes folks who do find them to think its normal and ok to keep trackables. What a crock.
  8. I spotted this video and thought of this thread. Jeep owners will either whoop n holler, or wince n cringe. Extreme Jeep Driving
  9. I have reported a cacher who is holding over 20 jeeps. Before doing so, I made several attempts to contact him through both the main profile, and his sockpuppets acct. Both email addresses were invalid. He transfered the jeeps to a sockpuppet acct, then dropped them into a cache, followed by marking them missing. Turns out the cache used was his sons. A series of emails came at me from different people after posting a note on the cache. First claiming the jeeps are being restored, then that they are being held for some event thats not a geocaching event. I just checked and he's deleted some logs on the sockpuppet acct to hide that he has them. Also some have been passed off to his wife and sons accts. If I recall correctly, the sockpuppet acct had 18 white jeeps, 3-5 green jeeps, and a few yellows yesterday. But some have been deleted today. Heres one of LOTS that are being hoarded...White Jeep Hayle
  10. Great to hear how this community continues to help each other on such personal levels. Really is an insperation to keep the faith in humanity. So often the news from the world is so negative. Then something like this happens and reminds me the goodness thats out there. Kudos.
  11. I just had someone try to do mine during the day. HAHA! its designed to defeat those attempts. They found the final, but didn't get all the wps needed to get into the final. /snicker. Its doable I'm sure, but very very hard. I don't much care for folks doing a night cache during the day, thus the extra steps required to get into mine. Its alot of work setting a night cache up and why bother if folks are just going "cheat" and do it during the day. To anyone planning on setting up a night cache, don't use white reflectors unless you want it found in the day. Use the Stealth Fire Tacks made by Wildtech. Get the discounted ones for a nice savings in cost. Try to set up on a trail system that has branching trails, and set your reflectors in a way thats hard to spot in the day. (side of tree opposite of trail, up high) Even better, slap a lock on the final and have the finders stop in different places for the combo. Worked for mine
  12. Thats how our event was doing it. Waiting till the 5th to send in the order. makes me wonder how many they actually had made originally. Another case of the "7 Ps'" not being applied I guess. read my post from earlier today?
  13. out of my 35 FTFs, most have little to nothing special. But theres have been a few nice ones. $10 Starbucks card Sydney geocoin (unactivated) Nice Seahawks Tshirt Pins misc nice swag My caches often have had something extra special in them for FTFers, trying to lead by example
  14. email on its way, thanks for the offer =)
  15. quote from the reply to my inquiry of the status from the Geocoin Store: mystery solved. Real shame our CITO event won't have any to give away after all. I don't understand why they took the listing down instead of just marking it Sold Out. *boggle*
  16. Anyone happen to know where the CITO coins went? They were on The Geocoin Store, but now theres no listig anywhere on there. A bit concerned since the CITO event I'm helping organize are gathering orders to be sent in next week. I've sent an email to the store, but just checking here in case anyone knows something already.
  17. I have 5 caches about 75 miles to the north. I go up that way pretty often though, its where I grew up and my parents are still there. Also have 1 cache 75 miles to the south, toward where my sister lives. Again its on my travel route. Of course plenty here locally too. *note: for my long distance caches, even though I travel to those areas, I was asked by locals to let lem know if I ever needed any help with them. Nice of them to offer as a back-up in case of emergency.
  18. people will buy anything....how about a #180.00 bison tube? http://www.lifetechnology.org/teslashield.htm on topic - about 1/2 the nano logs I've come across were pulpy goo. Order a Rite in the Rain logbook, pull out a couple sheets to keep for your own nano log supply, and use the logbook in a regular.
  19. #113...I'm still amazed it was in there. totally blown away.
