  1. Just finished making a Mother's day trip through the park on the 14th of May. They now have the caches available on a single printed piece of paper available at the Peter Norbeck Visitors Center. When driving into the Park and getting a pass, the attendants there were no help and unaware, so make sure to go to the center. They are all "virtual caches" with a question to be answered for each location. I don't know if this is something that should be posted or just let visitors get the info themselves. For now I will let someone else decide. They do mention finding all of them and being entered in for a prize if you return the sheet with all the correct answers.
  2. You can send .IMG files directly to Garmin units using Sendmap2.0 You don't need a .TDB file then.
  3. You can also make your own topo map of the area you are interested in. I have been doing this and so far pleased with the results. This website has a very good tutorial, if you are the least bit technically inclined. Custom topo maps for garmin
  4. Thanks for the quick info. I was mainly interested in the Black Hills National Forest area. Western side of South Dakota. It sounds like the sections are manageable enough that I could get most or all of it into the 24megs I have available. It's too bad they split this product up into 3 sections, and not a West and East. I'd really like detailed maps of Utah and Colorado as well as South Dakota.
  5. I'm looking at getting the Garmins US TOPO 24K National Parks, (Central edition) program and wondering how large the map segments are that you load? Their website has the online map that lets you see the details, but doesn't tell how large each 'square' map segment chunk is that you load in. I'm familiar with their other products and have city select and Topo (100k) and they work well, but I am limited to 24 megs in my Vista C. Just wondering how much of a national forest area I can get loaded in off their 24k resolution products. I looked and haven't seen much mention of this product of theirs. The extra detail looks nice if you can get one that covers your area.
