Your left side bar is longer than your post.
Why do you think he's so popular?
Is that something I should see a chiropractor about?
Good caching day for me today. I hit the new P.P.S.S #9 over by work after checking it out last night on the way home. Night time is definitely the best time to hit that cache, very cool. And, I found A Tribute to BadMajec! Needless to say, all of the people exiting I-465 onto 71st St. saw my touchdown dance. That one has been taunting me for a while now.

and why is half my post taken up by blank space below my signature?
-
Ok, folks, it's been nearly a day and a half since this thread got a post. Even though today was sunny, it's still darn cold outside, so you can't all be out caching! It's been 5 days since I've been out though I think I might try to get one this evening on the way home.
-
Now the idea of a small not-to-be-moved container within the cache is a good one. I've thought of using a magnetic sticker. Good for those ammo-can type of containers.
That's a good one, and easy too, since you can get those magnets that you stick on the back of business cards. I'm pretty sure an office supply store has em, and you can print business cards at home so they can say whatever.

Plainfield park challenge isn't what I was thinking, it's similar, but not the same. Torry has the idea of it, though. The puzzle would involve going to various caches that I've found, like Southside Times, and reading my log entry there or retrieving a number from the cache, maybe some number on the cache container or something. If the cache refers to my log, there would be something like H=The square root of 64 written next to my name. Thus, H=8. Somewhere on the cache page would be the standard ABº CD.EFG 0HIº JK.LMN. As you hit the 10 caches listed, you would retrieve the numbers needed for the final cache, that part has been done before.
The best way to describe this would be a combination of a multi and all of the "Tribute" caches around here. I haven't really thought any more on it than that, though.

I love that picture. If only my dog were as cool as Patrick. I don't think she'd stand still long enough for me to take her picture. The one I got was only because she was waiting for me to open the door to let her outside.

This place has nothin' on some of the other forums I frequent.

My IPAQ only leaves my console of my car when I'm charging it. Like your Palm, it was largely forgotten and collecting dust before I started geocaching. Now, it gets more use than it ever did.
Good hunting, hope you have fun!

watch it, toto, or you'll find yourself as a FTF prize in my next cache
Actually, my wife prefers to use different terminology that rhymes with plum grass. She can't say anything about geocaching, though, because she's the one who got me the GPSr for Christmas.
-
So, this may not be the correct forum for it, but since the hoosier geocache community would be most likely the people hunting it, I'm asking ya'll.
What are your thoughts on using a separate cache as part of the puzzle? Here are the specifics, hypothetically, as I have only this tidbit of an idea. The cacher must find cache XYZ and read my log entry to glean some information as part of the puzzle for my mystery cache, ABC. The issues I see with this are a) getting the cache owner's permission, and what happens when that cache owner replaces the log or the log/cache gets trashed. Some may see it as bad, but it could also be seen as a way to pick up another find.
Thoughts? Questions? Comments?
If you want to tell me I'm insane, go right ahead. My wife does that frequently, so I'm used to it.

Today at Target I saw mutiple LnLs of varying sizes for $3-$9. Sweetest deal was a 3pack for $10. The largest was almost as big as a 7.62 ammo can. That would be a good start for 2 smalls and a regular.

That would ruin micros..
nah, I think Fuji film has clear or semi-clear cannisters

Used mine last week to find 4 of the 6 virtuals there. Didn't go to Animal Kingdom or Fort Wilderness to get the ones there. No one paid any attention. The Magic Kingdom cache is hardest to get dead on because of parades and the Cinderella thing, but it's doable.

Some people just don't get it.

I got 3 on my way to work and 1 at lunch. Started with a double check of one I missed on Wednesday(3mins to find today), and in 40mins, I was half way to work and had 3 finds.
Does the addiction wear off, ever? As soon as I felt the plastic on the pill bottle at the first one today, I immediately wanted to find another one. That one took me even less time, and I found myself looking at my clock in the car trying to determine how many I could get without being late to work. I think I could have got another one, but I spent about 15mins touring one of the subdivision/appartment complexes on the west side of Indy.
I also found time to stare at A tribute to BadMajec for a few minutes during daylight since I went to lunch early.

It sounds like you've got plenty of people around there that are interested. You'd probably get people from Greencastle to Paris, and from Sullivan to Newport. Heck, if I get the opportunity, I'll show up to an event, if only to see if any of my old pals from Rockville are cachers. I need to get that direction this spring anyway. There are a couple caches in Turkey Run, and I love that park.

checking the look of the cheap avatar I created. MSPaint can only take you so far.

I think the first DNF is hardest to write. I even posted a thread about it a few weeks back. I was trying to find that "breaking point" where you determine that you gave enough effort that you should have found it and didn't. Today alone, I logged 3 DNFs. I logged 6 finds to go with em, but I still chalked up the misses. Like one of the previous posters, I think the DNF should be done with the same attitude as a find. Why be bitter about a DNF, it's not a competition.

2001 Hyundai Santa Fe LX V6 4WD. This is not a picture of mine, but it is the same color and year. About to top 85k miles and still going strong.

I whipped one out in Excel one evening in about 5 mins. I'd seen a lot of notes referring to full logs or wet unreadable ones, so I thought I'd be prepared. I printed a few pages with enough spaces for 125 names, cut em, stapled em up, and put em in a bag in my car. If I ever find a cache that needs one, I'll be able to assist.

The family and I went to Florida last week for some Disney World fun. Had my GPSr and IPAQ in the side pocket of my backpack. Didn't even have to remove them from the bag for the security screeners. Once in flight, I did fire it up to show my daughter how fast we were going. Max speed on my unit is now 606 MPH. I woulnd't think there would be a problem as the GPSr does not transmit, only receive. Any interference would already be happening as the signals from the GPS sats are always beaming.

So, if I'm out getting beer and smokes, does that mean I can make your plane virtually delayed?
-
Can't tell you how many wings and beers I put away there while in school. Unfortunately I won't be able to make this trip back to my old stomping grounds. I work Thursday evenings and even if I took a long lunch, I think the trip to TH would be a bit much.
-
I did 4 in 2hrs on my way to work. That amounts for half of my total finds, so I don't have much basis for comparison. These first few have been cool. Safe to say I'm hooked for life. I've even taking my stuff to Disney World next week to pick up the virtuals there.

Doh, I need to more than double my total finds and all of the ones added need to be ISQs to make the list. I'm gonna be busy.
