  1. This is NOT my official entry, it's just for fun. This was also not for Halloween...yep I'm a LOTR fan. This was for the midnight showing of the 3rd installment, Return of the King. It was in Jacksonville FL and we were featured on several News stations. When the first movie came out my friends and I made a pact to always see the movie on the first night for the midnight showing no matter where we were at the time. For the last one (in 2003) I drove down from SC but one of my friends had to come from Denver. It was such a great time!

  2. We've had a busy couple of days leading up to Bella's birthday on

Tuesday (10/23), and when we finally got back home at 10:00 pm tonight I saw

that a special Geo Pumpkin had visited our cache! I think a crow must

have gotten past the scarecrows and perhaps whispered a little

something to the Pumpkin about a special little girls up coming birthday. So,

tired as I may be, I ran back out and searched out the one cache of mine

that is always hard for me to find myself! Being night time it was a

bit spooky so I grabbed a flashlight. During the day time there isn't

anything scary here at all, but tonight the leaves were a rustling and

there were sounds coming from behind me all the time. So I found the

cache as quickly as I could and swapped a personal coin for the special

package. Bella is asleep so we'll wait till she wakes up and let her open

it. I can't wait to see her smile! Thanks Geo Pumpkin!

P.S. We got pretty lucky, as we've been out of the state visiting family for the last couple days and only today decided we'd come home instead of tomorrow! Unfortunately we still have not found a pumpkin patch to take Bella to.

  3. I've been given quite a few as gifts, mostly at GW5. I even have 2 from WSGaskins with matching codes! Others I received in trade for designing their tag, though I am still missing quite a few of those :D They are a great alternative to a personal coin I think. Especially for those on a budget! If I had some I'd likely trade and gift them. I like leaving things like that in caches, it's fun!

  4. I haven't had coins in my mail box in a long time, but I have received some great Pathtags recently. (unfortunately I don't have them in front of me).

BUT yesterday at a Geocoin event at the South Carolina CacheToberfest I traded for the Gypsies Crystal Ball, the Serenity coin and a Crystal Fairy. I had never seen the fairy one before, but I'm an avid collector of fairies, they are all over Bella's room. I love this coin, if only more artists would give their permission to have their art put into coins, I'd love some Amy brown fairies as coins!

  5. I haven't looked at new coins in quite awhile, can't afford to, so a lot of these I have never heard of. However I ran across one that my Geocoin heart desires today, unfortunately it's seller is one of those ebay only ones, so I doubt I will get it. Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night coin. I have that picture on a poster in Bella's room, it's very soothing. This would likely end up being one of those rare coins I carry with me all over, assuming it is good enough quality, I can't tell by the pictures. *sigh*

Psssst, I've got a Starry Night coin for you.... (shhh dont tell anyone...)

OMG!!! I wont tell, but I Can I say how amazingly sweet you are?!

  6. Bella's collection is safe, it's hers to do with as she decides when she is old enough to know, mine however is being sold a little at a time due to personal reasons that I wont go into here. A couple people know and that's all that needs to. I guess I can say that I would not be selling any of them if I didn't absolutely have to.

  7. Now all the fine print that normally goes along with all the cointest will apply here. You may enter a guess every 5 minutes, no editing and I have final say with Chris as my witness as i am currently visiting him.

Clues will be given as needed.

Have fun and let the game begin

I love your coin, but I'm more interested in the "other" package...when is it arriving? *waves to Chris*

    OK for posting sake :

  9.

I'm going to start looking around to see if I can find a "real" pumpkin - ie. an orange one - as I am determined to make a jack-o-lantern... and not out of one of the greeny/grey ones we usually have here. I'm not sure I will have much luck, but I'm going to try!! Failing that I may have to make a flame proof paper mache one! :)

    I can mail you one :D !

Thanks Dennis!! Thats what I might need to do!... :o

Can't see Ministry of Ag & Fish letting it in though

They sell foam ones in craft stores here, I'm not sure but you may be able to carve one of them, I can look around and see if you want! Plus being foam they would be very light to ship!

  10. This weekend the state of South Carolina is holding their first of hopefully many to come CacheToberfest's. As you may or may not know Caching ran into a bit of a snag in our lovely state a couple years back, but it hasn't slowed us down, so we all got together and decided to host an event to say hey we're still here, we're still caching and we're having a lot of fun, so come join us!

As part of this event there will be a Geocoin 101 and trade show. This portion of the event will take place from 4:00 - 6:30. Shortly thereafter at 8:00 pm there will be a Geocoin Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament. Registration for this is open until it kicks off! So plenty of time for that road trip! If your interested in either of these portions of our event please check out the event page, South Carolina CacheToberfest. If you have any questions I'll be happy to try and answer them.

  12. I'm just curious? Is there a way to tell an artist edition from a regularly produced coin by looking at it or will I need to keep them separated so I can keep track?

Generally speaking an Artist Edition coin is produced in a different metal finish or with a different set of colors than the regular production coins. All the coins I have designed have the differences listed on my web site but I'm happy to answer any questions you may have. Sometimes I choose both a different metal and a different color scheme.

A quick example would be the Jeep racers, the Geocoin Store sold them in Red, Green, Yellow and Navy Blue, my Artist Editions were made in Purple and Black. The GCC ones were produced on Black Nickel, mine were produced on Shiny Nickel AND Black Nickel (due to a mixup I got both with shared tracking numbers) Hope that helps!

  14. do artist editions have tracking numbers and icons? I'm new to collecting?

After looking at the website, it appears that at least some of these AE coins may indeed not have icons/codes...hmm. I still would have purchased, but I should have asked first anyway.

They DO have tracking codes and icons! I don't have any control over when the icons appear, however these coins, in regular edition, have been available for some time now and should ALL have their icons loaded and working at this point. I'll be updating the available list in a moment, I just got back from getting shipping supplies! Thanks for all the orders so far, I am very greatful!

Yes, sorry PayPal only, and my paypal address is NOT UOTrackers@yahoo.com, I will send you the paypal addy when I receive your emails. Thanks for the responses so far!

  16. I've read several posts with the opinion that Artist Edition coins are marked up way too high, well here's your chance to get some at pretty darn close to regular edition prices. My family has been going through some tough times for awhile now and I'm trying everything I can to keep our head above the water, this is my last ditch effort. As most of you know when I design a coin for a company I get paid for the design with coins that are different than the regular production runs, I call them Artist Editions, you can call them whatever you want, they are very limited in comparison to the store runs. So here's what I have:

    (12)(10) Copper (shiny) What's in your mailbox? V.2 - only 20 were made $10.00

    (6) Black Nickel GCC April 07 Eat, Meet & Greet - only 15 made $10.00

    (8) Antique Copper GCC April 07 Eat, Meet & Greet - only 15 made $10.00

  17. I'm not sure if this counts, but I wanted the GW3 coin so badly that I offered 1 of each of our UOTrackers coins for it (except the face to face trade only one). My husband was a bit shaken but I really wanted that coin, I felt it was a fair trade.
