Joni has hit is dead on. Here are a couple examples: Unfortunately I do not generally buy the production coins that I have designed so I don't have much to compare. But you can see each of the finished Artist Edition coins I have on my blog linked below.

From my own experience: VW Bug Geocoin Racers 1000 coins produced 250 of each color on BN regular edition 16 Black on Shiny Nickel AE 16 Purple on Shiny Nickel AE 2 of each regular colors (Orange, Blue, Yellow, Green) on Shiny Nickel AE For a total of 40 AE coins I think this is roughly (I'm not good at %'s) 5%or less than the production total. I have received both slightly more and slightly less but all in all pretty close to 5%. The quantity for AE's is not, and IMO will not ever be set because this is as Joni mentioned either payment or partial payment for the artwork. However if I am not mistaken the percentage is relative and should be around 5% of total production. Again the above is only based on my experience.

This would be for the Artist who designed the coin, which isn't always the producer. What sets the AE coins apart from the rest is generally a different Metal finish, enamel choice and even color. Also there is usually a very limited amount of this coin. Perhaps we need to also define: Producer, Mint, & Vendor?

Well the last couple days my mailbox has been jam packed! I received a rather large package from LindsyChris,which I thought must have been a trade we had made. But when I opened it I didn't find any Peeps (so I must have theirs already) instead I found some cool little flip flops (which Bella has pulled all apart ) A cute rubber ducky, which is now in her new pool, a squirt gun, a funky pair of glasses, some bubbles AND a Smirk coin and the Wahine I spy coin!!! Both coins I had been wanting. Thank you so much for the fun you gave us!

Guess what? Bella was walking around playing with something small today. It's not in a flip and has her grubby fingerprints on it (they wipe off), but mines already in my collection so it must be hers.She doesn't need it, we only have one collection of Peeps. Any chance you got an extra Eleanor from all your contacts?

Very very nice! I remember seeing your first coin on Marky's tracking site. Can you tell me more about 8 feetand 20 toes.I might just be missing it but wouldn't 8 feet equal 40 toes? Or are there dogs? Or am I completely lost. Sorry this one has always stumped me! BTW-ordering some! EDIT: I'd really like to trade for a two tone!

Yesterday my husband surprised us by getting us a new "Team Mascot". He got us this cute stuffed turtle from Build a Bear. He even put a voice box in it that says, "Hello, I'm Trekin the Turtle Travel bug and I'm with UOTrackers. Trace my travels at Geocaching.com!" His idea is that he will become our Team Travel bug and go to events with us. So, I've been stumped for a year on what to do for our second coin. With this new Mascot I got an idea. Below is a picture of Trekin, and the coin he has inspired. If I do produce him he will be trackable. He would likely be a late fall arrival. Please let me know what you think. So far I am thinking he will be about 1.75" 3.0 - 3.5 thick. Not sure yet if we will sell or trade only, it will depend largely on the cost to make him.

Is 2 hours enough?At GW5we were getting kicked out after 4 hours and more trades continued through midnight I think. Come on Jen, let's be pirates and raid the coin party. We'll just round'm up and drag everyone off to a new location I'm certainly not going to be satisfied with a couple hours!!! C'mon, Pete, there's got to be somewhere we can keep it open for a bit longer. Chris, I think ye might just be on to somethin Mate! Arr I say we split the plunder 50/50, and leave the rest of em coiners in the brig! Well it looks like I'm in the Tourney after all, so we'll have to divide and conquer! What ho? Aye, that's right, I just saw your name on the list, too. Who's going to watch over our plunder? The Tournament Director gladly volunteers his services to watch any booty necessary. I mean, plunder **edit for spelling Arr, these be fested times indeed, I think me mate has a parrot what can watch over these coins. He don't see too well so wont notice they are geocoins and not pieces of eight. (we need a pirate smiley!)

I'd actually recommend creating your own personal coin. The cost to create a coin versus the cost of buying individual coins is much less. The only thing is you have one large payment. BUT once you have your own coin you can most likely trade to get a good amount of the coins you'd like to set free. PLUS if you do a trackable one, you can release your own as well! PS. Okinawa! I'm jealous!

About a month or so ago I received an introductory mailer for the new DeLorme GPS. It had all the specs,plus an special coupon for I think $70 off the the regular price. I think it said regular price $369.99, special with coupon $299.99. After looking at it for several weeks I came to the realization that it was just a dream and tossed the coupon. I only have adobe so I guess I am out

So far I am staying on the Floor in PoSAM's room But looking for anyone needing a roomy! I generally stay up late and get up early so you'll barely see me.

After receiving the samples there were a couple things that needed to be corrected. I approved artwork just last night on the corrections, so my guess is 3-4 weeks for production? Christian if your lurking is that about right?
