  1. Is there a local cacher, who makes geocoins. I am thinking about doing my own geocoin, and thought I would give the local flavor a chance to see what I might do. For some reason, I thought somebody got into that, but I cannot remember who.
  2. I know this doesn't help you right now, but I am seriously considering making a geocoin. As you might guess by my nickname, it will be a night caching coin. I like my avatar to the left there as the artwork for one side of it. So maybe, if I ever get it done, it can be added to your collection.
  3. Email Sent Thanks everybody for looking. Looks like I might be all taken care of here. I will post an update if I have anything left after all is said and done
  4. Hey everybody, I tried to be a good poster, and read through the thread before posting, but there is just way too much to look through, so i am going to just post these and see what happens. I got started in coins when they first started coming out on GC.com with custom Icons. Then I quit for a long time. Geocaching and collecting coins. I started caching again, and would like to get a few more coins. I have a few extras of a few coins. Here is what I have. They are all unactivated with the activation codes enclosed. 1 X Seven Summits Everest Silver 2005 1 X Seven Summits Everest Bronze 2005 1 X nielsenc 2005 Thanksgiving Silver 1 X nielsenc 2005 Christmas Silver 1 X nieslenc 2005 Caching around the world Silver 1 X Screw Geocoin 2005 4 X 2005 Merry Christmas (Caching in a Winter Wonderland) I am only interested in trackable, and would prefer coins with custom Icons. Thanks for looking, sorry if this post does not conform to the customs/etiquette of this forum.
  5. I first heard this one when I was stationed at MCAS Beaufort, SC in 1987. (It involved the SC State Police and State Highway 17, which runs past the base). And that's real story What a Party Pooper...
  6. Congrats to everybody for all the milestones on the last 50 pages or so that I never read
  7. But this is why we cache with three palms. Just don't offer to shake with your left one!
  8. Yep, I hope to get out there. New Years Resolution to get more excercise, and why go to the gym if I can go caching right? No kidding about there being so many new close ones. I feel like I am just starting. Seriously. I have more unfound caches in my 5 mile radius than I did back in 2002. Probally more in that radius than there was in San Diego back in 2002. Watch for my boot prints, and don't forget to sign the log, or it doesn't count as a find.
  9. Thanks Awesome videos Karen!!! Wow, didn't we have FUN!! So, who's ready for the next run??? Anyone? Anyone?? Coming soon..................... The Splashes Those are awesome! Did Marko have to change his pants after that first tip? It reminds me of when Barb almost tipped her Xterra over on the Lawson trail. But Barb was much closer to tipping over...I'll never forget how big the BRAs eyes got a for that second! Those are great! I wish I was able to be there... next time. I was standed in Wisconsin. No, that wasn't hard at all, but now you all are writing down the screen instead of across it.
  10. Thanks Wow, scary stuff BTW, why do so many people video sideways. I always see that when I am surfing viral videos. What is up with that?
  11. Happy Birthday To You, Happy Birthday To You, You Look Like a Mon... Oh no, that wouldn't be a very nice way to come back and say hello after such a long time away. Hey there, I missed you guys at Starlight Kettle Corn this year.
  12. When I was a kid people used to "walk a mile for a Camel." Nowadays some people ride a bike 15 miles to find something that avoided someone's kitchen garbage can. Boy have times changed! <I'm just teasing ya, Jodi!> If ya don't want me to be mad at you you better give me the answer to Riddle 11...or is that a different thread? I'm glad you're not mad at me Jodi! I can be pretty sarcastic sometimes. I PMed you a tiny hint. P.S. By the way, you have a birthday coming up this Friday! I'm not sure why I remembered that.... Hey Pat, I didn't get my PM..where do I find it? I wonder why you remembered Friday What kind of cake are you getting?..I'm going to Vegas so maybe SWA will make me one ?? Duncan's is Saturday I believe. Maybe we can all share a DQ cake this weekend in LV!! My Bday is tomorrow, and I think D! told me his was on Sunday.Splashette Happy Birthday Splashette! DQ sounds great to me! Because I'm flying up on my B-day, I'm missing my cake and the HUGE party at home. What was the topic of this thread agin? Oh yeah!!!! Don't try to measure success with numbers of visits. Caches in urban areas will always receive more visits whether it is a "good" hide or a "bad" hide. "numbers freaks" will still get them, as will those who won't go out for the more remote, difficult caches. As has been said so many times measure success by how the hide makes you feel.
  13. So.... by archiving a cache, it makes it more difficult for the rangers to find and remove. Then if it is still there, physically, then it can be found and logged. If the Archive log mentions that it has yet to be removed, such as, "I will remove it when I get out there", then a cacher would be aware that it can still be found and logged. Am I reading this correctly? Well, my only ABDSP cache has been so archived and noted. I will get it out when I get a chance. Night Hunter Oh hey everybody... long time no see. What's going on? I see my little creation here is still getting good use. NH Good to hear from you NH! When the SDRP did this same time ~four years ago they let people pick up their caches at the ranger station. I hope these guys do that. Eventually an approval process was agreed upon and caching was allowed again in SDRP. I hope these guys do that too. P.S. This thread is the #1 thread in the West and Southwest! Yeah, Pretty obvious when you look through the last few months worth of posts and it goes like this: TrailGators, someone else, TrailGators, someone else, TrailGators, someone else, TrailGators, someone else, TrailGators, someone else, TrailGators, someone else, TrailGators, someone else, TrailGators, someone else, TrailGators, someone else, TrailGators, someone else, TrailGators, someone else, TrailGators, someone else, TrailGators, someone else, TrailGators, someone else, TrailGators, someone else,

  15. Hmm . . . and you "just happened" to read the forums again when this picture shows up? Sounds suspect . . . BTW, thanks for the extra flashlight on Indiana Ed's. hehehehe lucky me eh? What? Do you think I was Image Googling "Angelina Jolie" and happened to notice an image hosted by Groundspeak and so I came over to check it out and that image just happened to be on MY San Diego Thread?? I mean really, What are the odds? No Problem about the light, nice to have met you. I probally won't be meeting anybody else out there unless they become true Night Hunters and come around 2 AM.... And I don't suggest that at all. Very scary out there at 2 AM! Sean
  16. I would just love to sign the logbook Hey, Sean. Long time, no see! Howya doin'? Ditto~~~where have you been? We haven't had anybody to harass lately!!! Splashette Well, everything is good. Just been crazy busy as these kids get older. I actually found a couple of caches last week too. First in like 60 days I think. Maybe I will get some more, but I don't see things ever going back to the way they were.... Well, not never... they will all eventually grow up and move out.... I know I hadn't been on the Forums forever when it said the last forum post I read was in Nov '05. Sean
  17. I would just love to sign the logbook
  18. someone posted in the other thread that they were bringing an ammo can to replace it with. OK. I owe thanks to somebody. Thanks to Team Adelos for volunteering to replace the container. A regular size ammo can should work fine.

  20. from everybody I have talked to, it is dirt. Yep, it is dirt all the way to those coordinates. Firm, hard packed, but washboardy in some places. Passenger Cars should not have a problem. Last time I was there, a vehicle with decent clearence could make it to the cache start without 4X4. Hope everybody has a good time, I was going to come by, but my wife has to leave the house at 6:30 so I need to be home. Let me know about the conditon of the container. I know it was deteriorating. If it still needs to be fixed, I may be able to get to it this week.
  21. Yes, I am out (congratulations! [TV trivia?]) If there is anyway of getting rid of anything I have pre-ordered to others, that would be great. Of course I'm not going to stick anybody with unwanted stuff, so just let me know if you have stuff for me that I need to pay for. I definitiley do want one San Diego Coin, however. Thanks for the help guys.
  22. well, guys, I have not even been geocaching lately let alone reading the forums. As well as time constriants, my slush fund (the one I use for beer and geocoins) has run dry. So until further notice, I wish to suspend my membership in the club. Don't order any more coins on my behalf, as I will not be able to remit. I may still be able to trade, but I don't think I have much to offer that others (excluding new members) don't already have. Thanks for the fun, and Maybe I will be back soon.
  23. I just recieved my MIGO coins. I have three extra if anybody in the club doesn't have one...
  24. Congrats to The Fat Cats for getting that first 100
