  1. My first mission too, but I'll give it a shot. Is this what I am supposed to do? a.) Email Sent: Check √ b.) Name Received: c.) Mission Sent: d.) Mission Received:
  2. Think of all the coins you will be able to get if you really are already a millionaire
  3. Fantastic! hard to beat a good-night's sleep, huh? Up at 4:00 am you say? So now we know how bad your case of OCG (Obsessive-Compulsive Geocaching) is. Sorry to say that there's no cure for OCG as you can see from the Forum posts by other afflicted souls, not to mention any names. Now you can be the iMac-Geocaching Forum expert. Sounds like MacCaching is very like GSAK. Thank you for this chance to exercise my aging mind. As it turned out I got lucky by discovering MacCaching right away so then I didn't have to spend time investigating iMac functionality. Way back when RocketMan and a few others got together for the first San Diego paperless-caching event many local Geocachers made the leap from manual waypoint entry to direct downloading. The event was a defining moment for many of us. I've always appreciated the effort that went into that event. Makes me feel like I'm passing on a favor from RocketMan, Steve Dillon, Devhead (Of stapler fame), and others. For your Geocaching-Woodstock trip make sure to figure out how to do a Pocket Query for "Caches along a Route." That way you can improve the experience of driving through central-valley along the I-5. Also look into the features of your Magellan eXplorist and see if it can store and recall waypoint downloads as a file on the expansion-memory card. For sure my old Magellan Platinum has that feature and so for trips I loaded multiple PQs, one at a time, and then transferred them one at a time onto the expansion-memory card. That way you can recall stored PQs as you progress along to far-away places. Sort of reduces the need for a laptop and the need to find WIFI along the way. Oddly enough that's a Magellan feature that Garmin should have incorporated into their units, but didn't. Happy for you and looking forward to my hug, Harmon Moi? An expert? Hmmm ... well, I could try I s'pose. Golly, I thought I my expertise was limited to driving a schoolbus with young whippersnapperz and uh ... calling up folks for lifelines. Now I'm an expert at somethin' else? Wowza! This must be make Barrie smile day, er sumpthin'. I will check out those mighty fine suggestions when I get home from church (geocaching to and from, of course). Now that I'm an expert, I should be able to figure out what the sam hill her talkin' about! Oh ... one more thing ... there ain't no way I'm driving up the valley! No, no, no ... I'm flyin' ! Furthermore, I'll be doing my campin' at the Holiday Inn ... yeah, that's roughin' it for me Well I declare, I figured you would drive the school-bus loaded with San Diego Geocachers. Wouldn't that be a hoot? After all, Central Valley offers a lot to see along the way ... Wasco, Pleasant Valley, Corcoran, ASP, LAC, CCI, SAC, DVI, MKSP, SOL, SATF, and more. Kinda fun to see your State prison money at work. There's even a Charlie Manson Geocache just east of Corcoran prison, don't miss it. Don't short yourself of being an expert. It seems to me that you are pretty tech-savvy person based on the way you've handled MacCaching, your GPS, PQs, waypoint downloads, your profile-page image gallery, lifeline calls, and Forum posting. Harmon Okay Harmon, I give up ... help me out with the alphabet soup, pls. I prolly need to get out more, but I gotta admit I doubt I've ever been to any of these areas. [Central Valley offers a lot to see along the way ... Wasco, Pleasant Valley, Corcoran, ASP, LAC, CCI, SAC, DVI, MKSP, SOL, SATF, and more.] Those are all California State Prisons that are located in or near Central Valley. So now I'll admit it, I've been in more State and Federal prisons than any inmate. Some of my more "interesting" engineering work by the way, non-fatal weapons and such for correctional institutions. Ohhhhh my ... well I reckon I was right! I've never been to any of those areas before. I'm pretty much a native coastal gal, altho I have been up the 5 as far as Red Bluff once 'er twice. Could be I'm just not "up" on the fine prison establishments in this here Golden State. So now I'll admit it, I've led a sheltered life. My oh my, I had no idea there were THAT many places for those naughty rascals. Well I'll tell ya what, Harmon ... I'm gonna start checkin' out these areas, do a lil' homework on the matter, and see where those Holiday Inn air-conditioned camping grounds are along the way. I'm not ruling out yer prison caching recommendations yet. No sir. I'm kinda curious now. If you stay at any cheap motel that's near a prison make sure to bring your auto wheels and tires into the room with you at night. Its a familial thang. Holy 'mokes.... You two need to exchange phone numbers..... ... This reads like a phone call....
  4. A man true to his word..... And, about getting bitten by plants. Everytime I am near a palm tree I end up with a hole in one of my fingers.
  5. Look at all those guys. It's getting crowded in here. Congratulations! Wooohoo!!!
  6. The coins are in.... I think they came out great. If you have sent me a payment, your coins have been shipped today, or will be shipped tomorrow. If you sent me an address, your invoice has been sent. If you asked to be on the list, a request for your address was sent. I am sure that I have missed somebody, so if you fall into one of the above categories, and the correct action was not taken, drop me a note and I will be sure to get back on track I still have some of each metal available. $8.50 each / $2.00 shipping / $.75 for each additional coin / $1.00 international Potential traders: E-mail me if you have a personal trade-only coin you would like to trade, otherwise hold off, and I will be doing more trades in the future. Processing all of this is crazy enough.... but fun. Thanks everybody for the interest. You all have made my first coin a lot of fun.
  7. Yeah, since we were Night Hunting, I guess it would have been appropriate, I guess it we just had so much else to talk about. After you left, I also remembered that I should have asked you about "The Lost Patrol" which I had just DNF'ed a few days prior.... Anyway, back on topic. I put you down for two sets. Don't let Ginger! hurt my owl! To Everybody else: The coins will be in and ready to ship on Tuesday. If you have already sent me your paypal address, I will ship on Tuesday. Otherwise I will be requesting Paypal addresses from anybody who hasn't sent them to me already, so send them in, or look for my e-mail. Thanks everybody Sean
  8. Not only that, but if you get close and click on one of the caches, and then use the geocaching maps by google, you can scale the map to the size of your topo, even change it to topo mode. Then you would hve a nice list of all the caches in that area. Then Premium Members could even create a pocket query from there. BTW, YELLING in the Forums won't make any changes happen any faster. I think new ideas are great no matter who they come from, but I think Lost Guy is just trying to say to give the system a chance first.
  9. It is lame I know, but that is the way it goes with Travel Bugs. You have to figure in a certain chance (and pretty high chance at that) of dissapearance when you are calculating your expectations of Travel Bug survival. Every single TB I have out there right now is MIA. I plan on releasing three more in the next few weeks. I always hope they make it for a long time, but it is usually not the case. I hope it finds its way home. Who knows, maybe the guy will find it in a drawer someday and say, "oh yeah, that Geocaching thing, maybe I'll go out and drop this in a cache" Here's to hoping.
  10. Hey everybody. I posted this on the Geocoin forum, but I thought some of you might be interested as well. My first personal Geocoins are finally finished. See this thread, Post #58 for pictures and more information. I am selling the Antique Silver and the Polished Nickel. The Black Nickel Glow coins will be for trades only. The coins are $8.50 + $2.00 S&H. Of course, San Diego Cachers could make arrangements to meet and save on shipping. Drop me an e-mail if you are interested, and look for at least one of each to be activated and released into the San Diego Area, and one or two unactivated ones to show up as FTF prizes.
  11. The coins are finished. They ship to me tomorrow. I still have some of the polished nickel and antique silver available. Let me know and I will add you to the list, and send out paypal invoices now, or when I am ready to ship (which should be sometime next week.)
  12. Congrats to the Simpson Clan on 2300 on GC1BMFW!!
  13. I hate when BP shoots at someone, and I have to hear about it on Geocaching.com Better the BP shooting at someone than someone shooting at the BP Yes, I have to agree 700%
  14. I hate when BP shoots at someone, and I have to hear about it on Geocaching.com
  15. DON'T TELL HIM!!! YOU KNOW WHAT HE IS GOING TO DO WITH IT, DON'T YOU!!! I think I saw some at Target once. Otherwise, the fishing/hunting type stores would be the best bet. Muahahahaha..... Jahoadi doesn't mind telling me, she won't have to drive nearly as far as you will........ Muahahahahahahaha
  16. Hey everybody, Where locally does one go to buy Camo Tape? Thanks
  17. Nope, it's not too late. I still have some of each available for reserve!
  18. I got word that the coins will be shipped on May 12. So continue standing by....
  19. WOOO! HOOO! ..........WAY TO GO KEEP ON CACHING IN THE FREE WORLD
  20. Congrats to CHUY!for reaching 6200, two caches before we met out in Otay Valley!
  21. Thanks for all the interest everybody. The Samples have arrived. I plan on going into production next week. Here are some pictures. There will be a few changes of course. I have had quite a few requests for purchases and trades. Right now, I am only going to promise trades for the LE Glowing Moon/Black Nickel Trade Only Version to other people who are offering Trade Only versions of their own coins in return. I am making only 50 of this coin. It will be similar to the picture, but will be in Black Nickel not Antique Silver. I am sure I will have a few left over after that. I will open this up now to reservations and/or pre-selling. I will give the same priority to reservations as to pre-sales. If my reservations reach my limits, I will not pre-sell any more coins. Again, my sales limits are 90 Antique Silver (like the picture) and 90 Polished Nickel (with glitter Blue Edging). That will leave me with 10 of each for distant future trades/releases/other fun stuff. Thanks everybody for making my first coin so much fun.
  22. OMG! The things I missed while I was gone! Thought I'd better check it. I'm still here. In case you were worried.
