  1. If the GC is the same as the 510 (which I believe it is) than the caches you have preloaded into the unit are in the USA somewhere. Depending on where you are from they are not really good for you (I'm from Canada, so they are useless to me and I deleted them). You are going to have to go to the website (geocaching.com) and hook up your Explorist GC to tour computer than follow these simple steps.......... 1. Go to a cache in your area that you would like to find 2. Click on the "Send to My GPS" tab 3. Than a pop-up window should appear, look for MAGELLAN and click that 4. Click download 5. Than another box should pop up asking if you would like to do "download a newer version", Click NO! (Because you already have the newer version considering you just bought it) 6. unplug the unit from your computer, click the geocaching icon on the unit and look for the cache you just downloaded. Now it should be there, hope this is what you were looking for. The Explorist series is really easy to use.
  2. Thanks, I signed up there a while back made a few posts and forgot about it. LoL I'm heading back there now.
  3. I want to meet new people while enjoying my new hobby of geocaching. I was hopining to meet a few people at some of the FTF's I have raced too but No luck. If anyone in the Barrie Area would like to come and cache with My Fiance and myself is more than welcome. get back to us. CanadianSwissCouple
  4. For the record, I got a new Magellan for XMAS, and they give you about a 10 page owner's manual with only the very basics in the box, and online is the only place you can get that. As a matter of fact, I haven't looked at the one for my model yet. Yeah, the instruction Manual that comes with it is VERY basic. I think I might have got the waypoint thing now.
  5. Thank-you that was kinda helpful, I'm going to go see if it works later on today. 1st Mystery cache, here we come!!!!!
  6. We recently went out and upgraded to a Explorist 510, Dont get me wrong we love how acurate the GPS is over the Blackberry App we used to use, but we need some help in how to use it. If you live in the Barrie, Ontario area, or are willing to help us online please contact us. We are wondering how to punch in Cords so we can start checking off some mystery cache's. We are still fairly new at geocaching but we think were ready for this next step. Your help will no go un rewarded. Maybe some help over beer and wings??? PLEASE HELP!!!
  7. Holy WoW! I was gonna try doing a cache a day on my way to and from work. Trying to get 366 for this year (2012) which happens to be a leap year. I'm still pretty green at caching, and I thought it would be a difficult thing to do. But that guy takes the cake! WoW
  8. Is there something for geocacher of the year? like if someone gets at least one cache a day for the whole year?
  9. Everytime I visit a fairly new cache I wonder how long its going to be until another geocacher will come along and find it. How hard would it be to put a time stamp on the Logs? ~CanadianSwissCouple
