Get your technician ham radio license. You'll be able to operate more power and branch off into other hobbies. That being said, anyone you hope to communicate with would also have to have a license...

229? that would be for the 60cx.
60CSx is 298 plus change (free shipping)

I was somewhere around 50,000... The whole paying thing didn't appeal at that time though.

When you return to a cache you already found, you write a note. To log it again tacks on another find to your "caches found" count. If the cache was moved or replaced, the choice is up to you.
Enjoy

I have a tungsten E with every accessory under the sun. This includes a leather case, "rhino" metal case, chargers, etc...
I'm looking to get $55 + mininal shipping. I will ship anyway method the buyer chooses. Also, I am willing to ship out of the USA.
Please email me using my geocaching account for photos or more infomation as I don't check my PM's very often.

Pretty much anything with an electronic compass and high sensitivity will work great for geocaching. That being said, the majority of my caches were found with a cheep yellow etrex (not even the H model).
Good Luck

Edited cause i somehow managed to post twice....

Are you looking to purchase a GPS from the forum's users or for advice on purchasing a unit?

All of my hiking has involved the North East and Alaska. I can't imagine how different it would be to hike in such different country. Great photos.

I get all my ammo cans at garage sales...

I would recommend Google Earth. By downloading the coords in GPX file from the free piece of software called Easy GPS, you can then import them into Google Earth. It will also take tracks and routes. While you are supposed to pay for the right to use a GPS with google earth (20 a year, i think); easy gps provides an easy way around that. Also, easy gps will show tracks and waypoints in relation to each other, but with no map.

under thirty? idk, even a yellow etrex goes for 50ish. Regardless, good luck

There's more than just those two. I had a vista cx.

Ihave been planning a difficult geocache placed on an island on a fast moving river. It would be easily accessible with a rugged water craft (anything from a kayak to an inner tube). Before i go actually place this cache, I would like to run it by someone of sufficient authority. I'll be placing the cache in NY. Also, I plan on mentioning that the cache is accessible by land, with the proper skills/daring.
Who do i talk with over with?
Thanks

I just checked, and mine's back to normal. Has anyone else checked?

You know, my dad mentioned that his GPS was "way off". I don't know what he meant by way off, but it's a possibility. Let me know what you figure out.

What's Your Age?

Every time a age poll comes up the same (valid) issue is raised. We aren't polling the average of geocachers, we are polling the average age of geocachers who cruise the forums... Not everyone uses the forums, especially those people in my age bracket (20ish)
