  1. I used it for the first time yesterday, seems fine to me.
  2. Thanks very much for your reply, we will be sure to come for help closer to the dates of our trip!
  3. I have used this on our Oregon 650t and 450t, worked great on both..... very easy to use!
  4. We will be visiting Portugal in June 2018, you can be sure I will be coming here for some caching advice!!
  5. I have an Oregon 650t, hubby has an Oregon 450t. My bigger, badder, better unit won't play Wherigo, his will...... go figure.
  6. This algorithm is based on a combination of logs and circumstances, including Did Not Find (DNF) Needs Maintenance (NM) Needs Archived (NA) Caches that have not been found in a long time Difficulty and terrain rating We really don't like the 4th circumstance in that list. We have several remote caches that don't get many visitors, the people that have gone have really liked them though so I don't think archiving is really the answer. We also have several that require a bit of a hike to get to them so they also don't get many visits.... again, the people that do go to them love them so there is no good reason to archive. I would hate to see this hobby turn into 1/1 caches only! Many cachers, us included, prefer remote caches, caches that require a hike, kayak and canoe caches..... those are all going to be affected by 4 and 5 on that list.
  7. We will be placing 2 of them. It's been a long time since we have found any in the wild so we are thrilled to be able to give someone a chance of finding one in a cache.
  8. Anyone out there have an extra of this coin???? We were able to go geocaching in Scotland this summer and would love to have this coin to remember the trip by.
  9. Sure. I truly have no idea that there is anything illicit behind it. I would guess that it is hidden in the dirt. Or a little boy named Sanchez likes to play in the dirt. Or maybe its just nonsense. It could only be something nasty if you perceive it that way, and then the problem is on you. Yeah, a young kid is only likely to know that it's some old-fashioned dirty term if you make a fuss about it. Has anybody earnestly used this term since 1988? Well, I'm sure as heck not going to (1) look for current examples from my office computer or (2) post them in the forums. But yes, it is most decidedly in circulation on the interwebs. Had to look that one up myself..... goodness!
  10. That is a very beautiful coin..... enjoy!
  11. I would also suggest that you just place it in a cache where you are. We have dropped geocoins in many States that have the goal of staying in that State meeting cachers and seeing the sights, many, many of them are now in different States some even different Countrys. Once in a while they get back to where they were supposed to be sometimes they just keep wandering. As long as it keeps moving I'm sure the owner will be happy with that.
  12. That is the method we use as well. It has worked great for us for many years and many trips!
  13. We got an email like that yesterday as well.... 7/18. It is in regards to our cache GC5FE8B. While I don't feel that this was "mean" or "nasty" and we certainly don't feel ashamed or picked on, it is a little strange. The cache does have 2 dnf's on it, two cachers were out together on 3/6/16, their log indicates that they believe the cache to be under the snow. Yes, I do think we need to get out and check on it as there hasn't been anyone out there since then I just find it odd that we just got this email..... why didn't we get it in March??
  14. We made a travel rule years ago- to count a State we had to at least eat a meal in it, sit down, enjoy the meal, no trips through a fast food place!
  15. We will be visiting Scotland in June, I've got my bookmark list started!
  16. We will be visiting Scotland this June, arriving on June 17th. I would like to make a bookmark list of caches in the areas that we will be staying in but am having problems with that. Didn't maps have a search feature that you could put in an address in the past?? If they still do and I'm just not doing it right please give me a hint! It would be great if I could give someone the addresses that we will be staying at and you could tell me a cache in that area, I could do my search from there. We will be going to Edinburgh, Inverness, Argyll and Glasgow. Thanks for any help you can give us!
  17. Congrats to all who have received that awesome coin!
  18. I don't think that I fall into the camp that says people should be banned for false logs but it is pretty annoying. This week I had 5 or 6 logs on some travel bugs, from Germany......why is it always Germany?? They were back dated to some time in September, some of those TB tags have been missing since 06, 07 and 08. Do I really think they all turned up together in Germany??? Not a chance! I really don't see how that is any fun for them but whatever floats your boat I guess.
  19. The two Honu Turtles are still available if anyone is interested.
  20. I'm not sure of prices on these coins (all unactivated) so I will be taking offers on them until this Sunday evening. (13th) I do have 2 of the Arctic Ocean and the Caribbean edition Neptunes Compass coins. Shipping would be 2.50 for the first coin, each additional coin would be 1.00 more for U.S. Buyers. Please contact me for shipping prices to other country's.
  21. Is this a new list or the same one we are already on?? This is for address book 2 which you are on all ready. Thanks Maine Family!!
  22. these are great! Thanks! I would love to find on of those in a cache, are ya coming to Northern Michigan anytime soon??
