  1. I was looking to see what the tides say about the best time to hunt. Nothing below 8ft during daylight. Hmmmm.... another midnight run?
  2. We've got a DNF to rectify on that cache as well as a couple others on the island. Add a little Geo Get-together and it sounds like fun. What kind of food/snack stuff would you like us to bring? Looking forward to seeing you all there!
  3. It looks like cachers on the ball are finding them in caches already!
  4. There is an off topic area for premium members. My guess would be that if the earth is about 25,000 in circumfrence and it takes 24 hours to make a revolution, you'd have to go a little over 1000 mph at the equator. The farther away from the equator you were, the slower you would have to go because of the shorter distance. If you were just a couple miles from the North or South pole, you could probably do it in walking speed.
  5. We got this notification from Garmin this morning: Garmin is pleased to announce that new software is available for the GPSMAP 60CS. The new software is: GPSMAP 60CS Ver. 3.60 You can download the new software from our website by clicking the following link: http://www.garmin.com/support/collection.j...ct=010-00322-30 Changes made from version 3.50 to 3.60: * Corrected baud rate for RTCM communications mode.
  6. Like Woof asked earlier. Did you sign the logbook? If so, log the smiley if you're comfortable with that. If the owner feels like deleting it, that's their perogative. I think it's okay to search for and report on the condition of an ailing cache. It bothers me though, that removing (one man's) trash was even considered after the owner had responded with instructions not to mess with it. Why does such a veteran caching expert consider this such a dilema?
  7. Would it be too much to ask to see what 1500 coins, scattered across the kitchen table, looks like? I understand if y'all are too busy right now. I wouldn't want to inturrupt. A picture, however, would be pretty cool if you could squeeze one in.
  8. If they are listed as seperate caches, the first two should be traditionals and the third (final) would be a multi. This set-up will allow hunters 3 finds! Cool. Often, a multi-cache will have smaller waypoint caches (eg.film canisters)containing just the info to the next stage. The waypoints are included in the single listing of the multi and will earn just one find. Either way, it's all good. Thanks for hiding them!
  9. Depending on which GPS I'm using, I'll usually load either 475 or 950 caches. I think it's a good idea to not fill your GPS all the way up. Save a few empty slots for marking your car and other places you might need along the way. Before using GSAK to manage a database, I would set my PQ for 475 returns.
  10. What's with the old threads? Since the OP, changes have been made to allow cache owners and finders to edit and delete their logs. I'm sure that multiple finds can (and for quite some time now) be adjusted for the folks that feel that the numbers really do matter, made a mistake, or simply didn't realize or know better.
  11. Their current "WebLinks" page links to Geocaching. What is a "Cage Hunt"? Is there a way to get them to fix the typo?
  12. Perhaps the good Rev is taking TB lessons from someone. Good luck!
  13. I'm just glad that most of the "Highbrow" activity is limited to the forums and does not seem to affect actual Geocaching activities.
  14. I've used this type and it worked great for a while. After being opened a few times the rubber gasket came loose from the lid. It seemed nearly impossible for some cachers to figure out how to seal it back up properly. Wet logs soon followed. I think that real Lock & Lock containers provide the best seal for the buck value in plastic boxes.
  15. I think we should form a welcoming committee and set up camp on Lucyandrickie's porch tomorrow.
  16. Dead Languages is one of my favorite puzzle caches
  17. Well then...how about this? qevax zber binygvar
  18. Look!!! lucyandrickie repied to the Geocoin thread! Are they in? Open it....Quick! ..."you can't have a pitchfork. You'll poke your eye out!" Stop it guys, you're killing us!
  19. I've added a few more pictures too! BFH log
  20. What a difference not going alone. I was able to shave over two days off the time it took last time. Glad to make it out alive once again with this great bunch of cachers!
  21. Do you need someone to show you how NOT to get there? Count me in! I think the best parking is near Huggins Crossing and Evans Court. This probably wont look as bad in the dark.
  22. It looks like if your rental company has enabled the units with the unlock codes for "Off Road" mode, you would be able to manually program up to 100 waypoints.
  23. WeightMan There are alot of Google Images for scales This looks like something cool to work with
