  1. Er, Legend. yeah. It's served me well over the past couple of months, especially considering I bought it for $85... And, um. quote:Originally posted by Markwell:... I originally had a little yellow... "Little, yellow, different, better"? -Trik Legend-ary
  2. Mm. ReturnMe is okay, but I've gone with StuffBak. They've got about twenty different tag sizes, including aluminum ones for luggage and keychains, and you only pay if your lost item gets returned to you (and for the label purchase). Check out StuffBak for their info. And incidentally, I've put my StuffBak label info on my Legend's owner page, which gives the finder an 800 number and a website rather than your phone number and address. Rather efficient, I thought. Just my tuppence... -Trik
  3. quote:Seems like these batts keep getting beefier. Glad to see that VoldeMart is making these prominently available. Okay, that's just cool. I'm gonna start using that. I suddenly feel like telling someone I need to go You-Know-Where... X-D -Trik .oO(avada k-marta?)

just testing. no, really. move along.
  5. If you're using the Palm for caching, and you plan on using it for anything other than city-bound, daytime caching, the Zire might not be the best choice. Of the many things they've done to cut costs on the unit, they've removed the backlight. If you're in high-contrast daytime shade or caching near dawn or dusk, you might just have trouble seeing the screen. I'd go for the m105 if I needed something low-cost. It's got enough memory for the long run, even if you decide you want more software on it than what it comes with. For something smaller/nicer-looking/more feature-rich, try the m505, which is for sale on Half.com for $169 refurbished, eBay for possibly less. 6. Well, yeah, okay, maybe for GPSr's and accessories, and certainly for a lot of the consumer-level stuff they sell... but when it comes to computer equipment, especially if it's on sale... I got 128mb of memory for my digicam for about $10 less than I could find it anywhere online (and I do mean anywhere). Stereos? Naah. CDs, DVDs, appliances? Forget it. But they've always been good with computer stuff. Just my two cents, give or take... -Trik
  7. The guy at that electronics shop in Old Town Kissimmee must've had it in his display case for ages if he was willing to go down to $85 for it... My new Legend, I mean. With full manual and data cable. Don't hurt me too bad, though. My last was a Magellan 3000XL brick that had to have an active GOTO for the compass to work... and no, it didn't come with the box. That would've been REALLY evil. X-D It really is an amazing unit, too. I borrowed MapSource Metroguide USA from a friend and my jaw's been on the floor ever since. Even my coworkers are impressed. Can't go wrong with a high-end eTrex. -Trik
  8. Funny thing about this... I just might have been of the same mind as scuba on this one if I hadn't gone looking through the TO REACH descriptions before looking for anything. I came across this Caltrans bench with an official US Power Squad report mentioning things like "mattock" and "soil probing." I think perhaps caution and maximum discretion is required in deciding whether to call something 'destroyed' rather than 'not found.' With the proper tools, even the smallest needles emerge from the most massive haystacks. -Trik
