  1. WoHooo, I'm a whore!!! Ok, so maybe I'm not a whore, but I thought the article was well written and presented geocaching in a good way. Too bad they had to use that bad word "TREASURE". Jay - FoF

  4. Okay! The page has been created! EVC Welcomes PDX ~Amy P.S. Also the man who is writing the offical geocaching book will be there and he really wants to meet you guys. He wants your input. So, come with your ideas and stuff. Also if you want to talk to him before you get here, e-mail me and I'll send you his e-mail address.
  5. Noon it is. I will set it up for 12:00pm on Sunday, August 31, 2003. We will get together at Round Table Pizza in Springfield. It's easy to find. From Eugene, take I105, which turns into Hwy 126, East all the way to the end. Round Table Pizza is in the far end of the shopping center. I like this place because it has a private room. I also like their menu. If you place your order at least a day in advance, you get 15% off. Let me know if anyone needs anything or has other suggestions. -Jay
  6. HWY 20 at Camp Sherman is closed.
  7. Been chatting with fractal about some of the Portland crew coming this way for Animal House. We would love do a gathering in Eugene area. We just need to know what would work for everyone? Does Sunday 31st work better before you head back to Portland to meet at a pizza place? What time??? ~Amy of FoF
  8. Our 5 year old son won an orange stuffed bear at the Lane County Fair on Friday. I asked him what the bear's name is and he said, "Soup!" Are you influencing are son, Soup? ~Amy of FoF
  9. Hopefully this will work for both of you- Summer Dayz look forward to meeting you! ~Amy of FoF
  10. It’s a conspiracy!!! All those people who keep trying to instill: “It’s not a competition!” -Jay
  11. When I saw the title of this cache - And then .... I thought this was a joke from the movie Dude Where's My Car! Remember when they are at the drive through ordering Chinese food...and the voice keeps saying "and then"?! Or something to that effect. ~Amy
  12. Wouldn't that be the life?!! To travel around with the football team! If you come this way you can cache with lots of Duck cachers. ~Amy of familyO'foxes
  13. quote:Originally posted by oregone: And i'm standing by my original stance: Bring the eugene cachers tequila. With any luck, you can break their arm and they'll still go all weekend. Oregone, you are so funny!!! My husband resembles that comment. ~Amy of FoF
  14. quote: Funny, that one couldn't find my home address... Ok, so it was the first one to come up in my Google search. Guess I should have tried it first, since I just did and it didn't find my address either. I couldn't find the Eagle Geocoding, that's what I use when I need it. I always have to ask a friend for the site, guess I should bookmark it. -Jay
  15. good one to bookmark: <edit> forget about it, it didn't work - stick with Eagle Geocode. <edit> -Jay [This message was edited by familyO'foxes on August 08, 2003 at 04:20 PM.]
  16. 1. 30 Miles from my home coords - 100 caches 2. Same for Corvallis (north of me) 3. Same for Roseburg (south of me) I figure if I'm finding more than 100 caches in a weekend then I need a break. I use GPX spinner & Plucker to get the pages to my Palm IIIxe, which can be bought from eBay for around $50.
  17. quote:Originally posted by oregone: And you should totally hang out with the eugene cachers. Most especially, you should feed them a lot of tequila, because the flaming marshmallows will follow. With hilarious results! all rights reserved, all wrongs reversed Oh yes, thank you for the reminder, Oregone! I have those pictures! I put them in a scrapbook of the event. So, far my kids haven't tried setting bubble gum on fire and catching in their mouth....but I'm sure the day will come. I will have to bring those pictures to the next event!!! ~Amy of FoF
  18. Welcome to Eugene! We are a group of friendly cachers. We have gatherings about every month or so at different places (like pizza parlors and so on). Let us know what will work for you and we will host a social gathering??? We were just saying we need to do one in the next month or so (the last one was on July 11th). Now, we will have a theme- Meet team tired feet!! ~Amy of FOF (familyO'foxes) P.S. we have a yahoo group for our area. EVC go to that link and then you will see an area to sign up for Emerald Valley Cachers.
  19. If you're interested in the story behind the avatar, here's "Sammy's Story"
  20. We started out with the yellow eTrex. Worked great for us for over a year. The big joke in the family was, after we hit 100 we need to upgrade. Well that didn't happen. It wasn't until we couldn't find old yeller that we began to consider the upgrade. A friend lent us his Sport Trak Pro and we were hooked. Costco had a great package deal so we got it. Just before buying the Sport Trak, Mr. eTrex showed up. Mother-in-law "Stampin'Granny" is getting the yellow.
  21. View the contest here!
  22. I enjoy "dressing up" some of my cache pages. It all started by trying to make my Ebay pages look nicer. I use FrontPage, but any HTML editor will work. I like the WYSIWYG editors, then click the "html" tab, cut and paste everything between the "<body>" tags and there you have it. No Bonz About It!
  23. I had to re-create since I couldn't find the original.
  24. Our 7 year old was diagnosed with arthritis at the age of 2. Our's would look great on a walking stick! Count us in.
