As a cache owner, I am actually annoyed by edited logs on my caches. (Especially when the old log gets deleted and also by the ugly "This log was edited on"-sign below) You didn't find the cache and logged a DNF and shared your experience. It is now part of the caches history. If you go back later, write a new found it log. To me, that's the only reasonable decision which reflects the history the right way. I think a DNF is not simply a message to the owner/other cachers that there might be something wrong with the cache (if that's the case, you can always contact the owner via e-mail), but also statistics, probably about how hard it is to find the cache. I admit, I didn't log all my DNF's, but I'd say about 90%. (sometimes there just wasn't anything important to tell, so I'd skip the DNF-log and post in my found it-log that I came twice) If you got a story to share, regardless wether you found the cache or not, post a log (either DNF or found). The next log will be a different story on a different day, so there's absolutely zero reasons to delete the early one. Some might do this because they're ashamed of a DNF? That'd be pretty silly though.

You can let another cacher adopt your caches: http://www.geocaching.com/adopt/ I don't know exactly, but I think they will then also disappear from your hides and the one who adopted will have them all in his profile. Another option would be archieving all of them and let the new owner create new listings of them. Then, the archived ones would still be displayed in your profile and the new versions in his.

I think it's rather interesting how popular these hides seem to be in America. I've never come across anything like this in Germany

You would very likely get more traffic to the individual caches of a series but probably not too many people that actually get all caches of it. There are very long multi-caches, but they are pretty rare. If you want to create a once-in-a-lifetime experience by creating a multi that may require days (or even weeks) of hiking, you should go for the multi. I think a multi-cache like this will very likely be much more remembered than just another cache-series. However, it may require more work for you too as when it comes to individual caches, they are much easier to maintain as the other caches are still doable. If it's a multi and one station is broken, you'll need to get there asap to fix it because otherwise nobody will be able to do the cache. I think it's pretty much up to what you want to do with the cache.

Das machst du auf der Seite des Geocaches, nicht auf der Seite des Trackables: P.S. Bitte logge nur einen Besuch bei einem Cache, wenn du etwas zu sagen hast oder es i-einen Sinn im Bezug auf den jeweiligen Trackable bzw. dessen Ziel macht (z.B. wenn du Fotos gemacht hast, du einen Fisch-TB zu einem Fischcache mitgenommen hast, o.ä.) Die meisten Owner mögen es nicht, tausend Seiten voller "took it too"-spamlogs ohne jeglichen Hintergrund/Sinn zu haben

Zu allen bereits genannten Faktoren, gibt es auch Caches die aus unerklärbaren Gründen nur selten gefunden werden. So ein Beisspiel ist dieser hier. Der wurde jetzt fast ein halbes Jahr nicht gefunden. Warum nicht kann wohl keiner erklären

This is not a Bug. I heard it was even made on purpose, so members who went along on a cache trip with premium members could still log the premium caches because infact, they found them and therefore should and are able to log.

Die Logs bei einem TB solltest du unter keinen Umständen löschen. Ebenso wie wenn du das bei einem alten Cache-Listing machen würdest, würde das die Statistiken aller Geocacher die mit dem TB in Berührung kamen ändern. (Genau um das zu vermeiden werden übrigens auch Caches archiviert und sind noch sichtbar, anstatt sie vollständig zu löschen) Meine persönliche Meinung zu dem Thema ist übrigens, dass ich Kopien für Unfug halte. Eine Kopie ist nunmal nicht der echte TB und es verfälscht auch mMn dessen Geschichte wenn eine Kopie in Umlauf ist. Der TB ist futsch, erstell doch einfach einen Neuen.

I believe it is the website's internal settings. My first Geocache for example, is listed as published on January 20th when infact it was already the 21st in Germany. If it ain't the same date yet, change it manually.

How about making him trackable instead? Groundspeak even supports this movement. You can log him as "visited" for all caches he found with you. And people can even "discover" him at events or on the run.

Ich würde mich freuen mal einen Large-Cache zu finden. Es gibt ja durchaus einige Möglichkeiten einen zu verstecken, wobei das natürlich auch nicht bei allen Locations möglich ist. Und außerdem benötigen diese natürlich deutlich mehr Aufwand und den betreiben dann ja doch die wenigsten. Im Zweifelsfall finde ich aber auch gerne einen kleineren Behälter wenn die Location sehenswert ist und es keine Möglichkeit gibt einfach eine riesige Kiste hinzupflanzen. Laut Statistik habe ich übrigens schon 2 Larges gefunden...diese waren allerdings eigentlich eine Brotdose die nichtmal 1 Liter fassen konnte und eine Standart-Munitionskiste die also eigentlich ein Regular war Aber wenn eben sonst nur Micro-caches in der Umgebung sind...erscheint einem Owner, der noch nicht viele verschiedene Caches mit unterschiedlichen Größen gefunden hat, eine solche Dose wohl schon als riesig.

Well, for me personally it's annoying that I have a mystery-final almost next my door and it's listed as 1,1 km away So it doesn't show up in my <1km score. But it's not so bad, as I actually still have 5 caches that close.

In Germany we often use DFDC (Danke für den Cache) instead of TFTC. In France it's MPLC (Merci pour la cache), etc.

Also ich persönlich freue mich über Kronkorken. Manch einer hat halt merkwürdige Sammeleidenschaften Die Absicht beim Hinterlassen eines Solchen lass ich mal außer Acht... Das Finden einer Haarspange mit einer ganzen Strähne (offenbar echter) Haare war für mich allerdings auch etwas merkwürdig Aber vllt kann ein Perrückenhersteller ja was damit anfangen? Einmal fanden wir in einem Cache (mit Märchen-Thema!) Billig-Liköre. Für die haben wir dann auch einen Tauschgegenstand hinterlassen, sie allerdings in der nächsten Mülltonne entsorgt. MMn fällt sowas unter die "Keine Drogen-Regel" und darf sich unter keinen Umständen in einem Cache befinden. (Völlig egal dass Alkohol ja eine legale Droge ist...ich glaube nicht, dass es in Holland erlaubt ist Gras in einen Cache zu packen )

Most owners do not like spoilers of the hiding places or containers though. All other images that do not spoil the fun of your caching tour are fine
