  1. WTG Mark. The matrix is my next goal. I figured I'd save it for the winter since it will involve a lot of hiking. That's why I did the counties & delorme first. I need a lot of the same ones you just got, so I may follow your route a bit.
  2. I've pretty much decided on the Nuvi 350. I REALLY like the tomtom multi point routes, but I can live without them. I suppose it is just as easy to create a POI category and label them 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. All the reviews saying the TomToms routing engine is taking them slow, out of the way, and otherwise bad routes are scaring me away from them.
  3. I'm looking into purchasing a car gps for getting to the parking, and of course continuing to use my 60CSX when I needed to get out on foot. I think paying $130 for routing maps for my 60CSX and then having to read the tiny screen's instructions simply isn't worth the money. I'm really favoring the TomTom, mostly thanks to it's multiple destination route feature. I think it will be great to go from cache to cache seamlessly, without needing to reference my paper, find the waypoint, etc. However, I hear that the TomTom is not good at getting you there the quickest way from several sources. Anyone have any experience with this?
  4. I am looking to purchase a in-car GPS to route to geocaches. I feel like paying $130 for maps for my 60csx is a waste of money when I can get a decent in-car for $250-$350. My main concern is the waypoint loading. Do both of these models have unlimited POIs using the SD card? I can not find this explained anywhere. Can I search by distance as well as name on the POIs? Also, I would appreciate feedback on what makes the 350 better than the 250? Should I be interested in the even better models, such as the 600, 650?
  5. This has become rather routine for me, it seems. I stop. I figure i'm only hurting myself not logging the find. The only time I drive by them is when it's dark, or I have to be somewhere by a certain time. I really HATE night caching. I certainly feel your pain though, as I do not have a big 4WD SUV i can just park in the ditch. This year has been kind to my small car, however, with the dry weather i've had little trouble getting off the road. I do appreciate parking coordinates if the parking is particularly hard to find, or not an obvious place. Any hide on a gravestone is illegally placed, unless direct family of the person buried there has approved it. This falls under the "defacing property" guideline.
  6. I agree with elwood. As long as there is a place to stop without endangering other drivers, no big deal. I'd much rather be at a road side cross than alot of the places I've searched for caches. At least I'm not doing something illegal or looking like i'm planting a bomb.
  7. The only problem I would have is that this is obviously already a dangerous location.. do I want to be standing there finding the cache? If you don't like that kind, just don't find them. Theres no rule against them, nor should there be.
  8. Wow. I thought I was sick at 2,000 a year... . Way to go!
  9. Thanks for the orders! Keep them coming in. If more than 1,000 trackables are ordered, we can use IN instead of PC as the code prefix.
  10. Just amount ordered. And they are not trackable.
  11. I priced the coins as cheaply as possible. The only profit I'm looking to make is enough to cover the hosting costs at IndianaGeocaching.com for a couple years. If all goes well, i'll do it again next year at the same prices.
  12. Certainly! You can wait until the last day if you wish. Forgot to mention: These will also have Icons, and if more than 1,000 are sold, a custom prefix.
  13. Visit indianageocaching.com/coin/ to order your 2007 Indiana Geocoins! Preorders will continue until September 31. Coins will be shipped sometime in October, just depending on how fast they get here after I order them October 1st. There is also a secondary coin, same design, in a gold finish available to indiana residents.
  14. Feel free to continue discussing the design. All other discussion should be moved to the new thread I am starting in the Geocoin forum or to the thread at indianageocaching.com.
  15. I'll go ahead and start taking preorders tomorrow at the event in case anyone would like to pay cash.
  16. Pre order is within a couple days. As soon as everyone comments on which they like the best. Looks like we're going with the first in nickel and the first in gold. Nickel Trackable: $7 Gold Resident (Limit 5, Indiana Residents only): $5 S&H 1-4: $2.00 5-10: $3.00 11+: $5.00
  17. We were never really planning on using the copper anyway. Yes, the edges of the coin are all gold. I'm not sure how they made the nickel ones have a nickel rim on the front side, but they did it. They really look sharp that way.
  18. That would be because it is the same on each coin. I didn't feel a need to take all of those pictures. I am about tired of IndianaGeocachings problems as well. I'm allmost ready to just shut it down and forget about it.
  19. For the trackable, I have 3 options. Again, I prefer the first one, but opinions are welcome. Regular Nickel Nickel with Gold Antique Silver I also had them make a copper. It really looks great, and could be substituted for either coin. It depends on if we want to stick with the traditional colors or not. Copper I will leave this open to discussion for a couple days and then begin the preorders. Preorders will last through September 30th, 2007. I'll have the sample coins at: Eat and Greet (Aug. 4) NEI-GEO Event (Aug. 11) Caching at Thirteen Five (Aug 12) Plainfield Meet and Greet (Aug 25) Hands over the Water (Aug 31) Fall Picnic (Sep 7&8th)
  20. For the resident coin, theres two options to pick from. I certainly prefer the first. Regular Gold Gold with Nickel
  21. I'm pretty sure Groundspeak could care less what your club does, the only things they don't want is events of a commercial nature. You can't promote their products on your event pages, etc. You couldn't hold an offical event just to get people in their store. You can probaly list them as a "sponsor" of the event but nothing more.
  22. And please put in the coordinates to the cache. I would change to it just because the current emails are bloated and annoying. Say "Cache Name" by "Owner" Was Published on "Date." Size: Difficulty: Terrain: "Coordinates" "Encrypted Hint"
  23. I didn't mean to sound harsh.. I was just explaining the reason it didn't drop the price more. If it knocked off enough, it may. We'll just have to see what the final pricing is. The coin is costing less, so you do have a right to know why your cost may not be less.
  24. They were already going to be $2 cheaper than the other one because all of the Groundspeak tracking charges. I doubt the two tone charge would change the price enough for it to go down any more. I mean, I could charge "$5.77" for the coin, but that would really make an accounting mess. It's much easier to say "$6".
