  1. Thanks all for the suggestions! I'm heading down your way tomorrow (Sunday) and will give some of the suggestions a try as time allows. Regards - Olf
  2. Hi! Will be in town on business, and will hopefully have two evenings for caching. Would like to know if there are any must-do caches. I'll be staying at the Orlando-Florida Mall Holiday Inn, so caches in that vicinity would be best. Please let me know your favorites. Thanks!
  3. Having attended the last two Letchworth Fall Gatherings, I HIGHLY recommend this event and will be attending again this year! Letchworth is a beautiful park, and there are many, many caches there. Can't find a nicer bunch of folks either! Usually attendees that are planning on camping will try and reserve sites near each other. Watch the posts for more information. Looking forward to meeting some new faces!
  4. Thanks everyone for the kind words. If the above cachers will email me their home addresses, I'll make sure the checks are in the mail first thing in the morning! Words escape me that describe how great the members are of the caching community! Can't wait to see who and what are around the next corner! Thanks again! - Olf
  5. Just got back from helping balloonpilot and chickenlips launch and chase their balloon on this beautiful Friday night. While there, ran into a number of other cachers that indicated they would be at the luncheon tomorrow. Looks like we could possibly expect 20-30 cachers at the luncheon. Had a great time talking to everyone tonight about our caching experiences, and looking forward to more of the same tomorrow. Anyone wanting to attend the luncheon is welcome to show up without any advanced notice. Again, the luncheon is Saturday, 1:00pm-4:00pm at Boomers. Please come out and join us!
  6. We know that this is short notice, but a bunch of cachers are getting together this Saturday for lunch at Bloomers (5 miles North of Wellsville (NY) on Rte 19). This is also the weekend for the Wellsville balloon rally, so come on out, see the launching of hot air balloons, then head on over for lunch with fellow cachers! We are trying to get this lunch approved as an event cache on geocaching.com. This lunch is open to all cachers and anyone else that would like to learn more about caching. Please help us spread the word. For more information, email: geocaching@adelphia.net Thanks!
  7. Just wanted to help get the word out for pistolgrip44. He is organizing a cachers' breakfast this Saturday in Huntingdon. See the following link for more information: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...99-df00b13b5b6f Would love to meet some more folks. Will be planning on hitting some local caches afterwards.
  8. Just wanted to invite everyone to the Potter County CITO Event. A picnic will be held afterwards at the Cherry Springs State Park. More information can be found at: Potter County CITO Event Please Join Us!
  9. A great big THANKS to Ultimamind for picking up the Traveling Art Gallery travel bug! Hopefully her kindness will be returned abundantly through the seasons of life and may her meadows of memories bring her constant reflections of joy! (Wow - where did that come from?! I guess maybe it was the writer in me coming out!)
  10. Howdy to my friends in Florida! I have a travel bug called The Travelling Art Gallery (http://www.geocaching.com/track/track_detail.asp?ID=8327) that has been placed in The Key To Love cache (GC4794). It has been sitting here since June 2nd. This cache has only seen one visitor since June 2nd, and this might be due to an entrance fee. If someone would be willing to pick up this travel bug and relocate it for me, I'd be happy to pay the entrance fee for you. Please contact me to make arrangements. Thanks! - Olf
  11. Ladebear68 has hit the 100 mark in an impressive short amount of time! It's been great to be able to share stories of caches that we've done in common, and just as interesting to hear about the ones yet to be done. Hopefully you don't hold this caching bug against me! Congratulations!
  12. Congratulations, Enfanta! You are the Erma Bombeck of the caching world. I always get a big kick out of your logs and the thoughtful way that they're written. You should publish a book of your logs - I'd be the first in line to buy one! Also, stay tuned for a brand new cache that was inspired by you (hopefully within the next two weeks). It would have been nice to have had it ready for your 100th find, but time did not allow. Again, congratulations!
  13. I had the privilege of meeting pistolgrip44 at the Scavenger Hunt last weekend in State College. He got to 100 a whole lot faster than I did and I expect to see him passing me in the near future. I enjoy reading his logs and admire his appreciation for the "playing field"! Way to go!
  14. Way to go smoochnme!!! I was honored that you hit three digits at Rock Run! Hope that some day we finally get to meet! Oh, the Places You'll Go! - Olf

  16. I'm scheduled to be in Cinci next week on business and would like to hit a few caches. Are there any "must do" caches? The Peace Bell cache looks interesting and would like to find a few others where the cache is secondary when compared to the cache's setting or the local history behind it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
  17. Keystone Cachers will be having a group cache hunt September 7th at the Hector's Spring Version 2 cache. See our web page for details. EVERYONE is WELCOME!!! http://users.adelphia.net/~geocaching
  18. Hi Team BLT! Being that we're the home of Adelphia, we've plenty of housing available now! If ever you're interested in caching our area, we'd love to have you! Based on your profile you might be interested to know that Potter County also has two major archery events at Ski Denton in the summer. About three weeks ago was the Eastern Traditional Archery Rendezvous, and this weekend (8/23-25) is the Potter County Bow Festival (both are annual events). Having been born and raised in Philly, I'm also a committed Eagles fan, which isn't easy being in Steelers/Bills territory! Too bad they lost last night by one point! Even though you're not in our general area, you're still welcome to join the Keystone Cachers if you want to be kept abreast on our caching activities. Either way, thanks for visiting our site! Take care!
