    Flashlight Hack

Just read the July issue of Popular Science and came across this article on How to hack a flashlight I have so many old flashlights lying around doing nothing that I'm thinking of giving this a try( to boost my nightcaching success). While it is not as bright as Zartimus's millon candle power batlight , it should do the job

  6. I think the question should be; What don't I use a Leatherman for? That way you would get a much shorter list I might start a war here but here goes. I own an original Leatherman and have used it at least 4 or 5 times a day for over ten years to do various things. I was also issued a Gerber multi-tool for going overseas and have used a SOG multi-tool as well. I would rate them this way 1st Leatherman A very close 2nd SOG and a very distant 3rd Gerber and my personal opinion of the Gerber is that is a piece o crap! To say I would be lost without my Leatherman would be an understatment! Leatherman SOG Gerber

    Snow

    I second that
  17. Having been a driving instructor in the Canadian military for a good number of years teaching on a jeeps up to a 10 ton 6X6 trucks. I have noticed a thing or two about non-professional drivers (not that they’re bad or worse than professionals) Some of them think 4 wheeling or boonie bashing means how fast can I go and how high can I get and when they get stuck instead of getting help immediately they just make it worse. This ensures a long walk out of the training area! On the highway in a snowstorm they think they’re invincible in their 4X4’s. All 4 wheel drive means is when you don’t have the right mind set getting stuck in a 4X4 mean your well and truly stuck
  18. Congrats on another FTF. Had my brain not been fried by 7 12 hour shifts from 2000 to 0800 in a row pushing, throwing, hauling and piling snow I might have beat you to it . We still don't have the aerodrome CFB Shearwater totaly clean yet, but we're getting there.
  19. Go to the CBC Nova Scotia webpage and look for "Winter clobbers the Maritimes" in the features section.
  20. I have now plowed more snow than I care to speak of!!! And another week at least of 12 hr shifts Replys; Red Fox Raiders I EAGERLY await a "found it" somewhere in HRM Sparky-Watts Saint Bernard got here, but in a police car. He had been arrested for drunk and disorderly and breaking curfew. tirediron What can I say but I have placed a curse on you so that you will be posting "didn't find it" for the next little while storm1 Hope to see you caching soon Taxman003 I have seen some snow drifts at least 20 ft high and I've had people begging me to dig them out with the front end loader and I've had some dirty looks when I put more snow in their driveways
  21. Man did we get Walloped !!! I think geocaching here in Halifax will be at a stand still till spring . It wasn't so much the snow as the up to 100Km winds that were blowing, my plows just couldn't keep up with it.
