  1. Just about all the examples, even starting from the first post, will fit into the Silhouette Public Art Sculptures. Go back and see for yourself. You want to make this a "heart" category, welcome signs category, or a tourist attraction category? If you eliminate Silhouette Public Art Sculptures, What is left? I object!
  2. This was approved in Silhouette Public Art Sculptures and Silhouette will also accept art pieces that are text . Love Taupo Letters
  3. 4. Haugan, Montana Near 50,000 Silver Dollar. West Cottages.
  5. Ain't it just too cool, the things we found by accident... Most of these were found by making a wrong turn or went way out of our way. Zortman, Montana We went from Billings north just to find a "Z" Welcome sign round trip 330 miles. It was a Sunday and returned to Billings to find a Foucault Pendulum Wrong turns = Happy Accidents: Junk Design House We were just driving by and found this interesting yard. Next stop , I think was the most surprising as we never expected to ever find a Red Telephone Box Wrong turn (one block before our planned turn.) Electric Palm Trees This is something we had come to believe that we would never find. After five years of searching we stumbled upon this palm grove purely by chance.
  6. SMacB this is NOT about you. (personally) I apologize for any misunderstanding. I was pointing out the inconsistencies about Celebration of Life Headstones being denied with votes indicating that laser etched gravestones be part of the Death Mask category. Yet, Wooden Church Artefacts was approved in 2020 when Stone Church Artefacts already existed. My comments were about two Waymarking categories one approved the other denied and the discrepancy.
  7. Forum Guidelines 4. Personal attacks and inflammatory or antagonistic behavior will not be tolerated. If you want to post criticism, please do so constructively. Generalized, vicious, or veiled attacks on a person or idea will not be tolerated. Stop disparaging my officers and myself with your innuendos.
  8. Wooden Church Artefacts - First approved waymark June 9, 2020 Total 216 Interestingly, "Individual 1" has posted 137 or 63% of the total. Wonder what else can be revealed? Stone Church Artefacts / Wooden Church Artefacts: No objections to creating the Wooden Church Artefacts category when the Stone Church Artefacts already existed. Both are in churches and both are artefacts. Must be a double standard.
  9. Interesting point about public information which includes "most cemeteries" When it came to peer view there were deny votes that were inconsistent with your statements. One of the advantages of a failed peer view, I get to see ALL the comments. Hidden or otherwise.
  10. Ah, the ole privacy thing. Just for the fun of it lets have a look (BTW - No objections here about privacy) Categories Graves American Revolution Patriot Graves 63 American Revolutionary War Veteran Graves 1,125 Broken Column Headstones 475 Death Mask Gravestones 103 Grave of a Famous Person 2,593 Graves Mentioning a Cause of Death 1,107 Headstones of Centenarians 2,302 Homemade Tombstones 1,403 Medal Of Honor Resting Places 3,035 Occupational/Hobby Grave Stones 907 Out of Place Graves 572 Woodmen of the World Grave Markers 6,535 Zinc Headstones 2,155 Total 22,375 One of the main objector, interestingly, has posted 1,154 gravestones - NO morality issue here when these were posted.
  11. Thanks to all that enjoyed their special pie and shared your stories. England Germany Netherlands Poland United States
  12. Depending where you live, today is Pi Day, or it could be tomorrow. Don't miss this opportunity to enjoy a piece of your favorite pie. Eat Pie on Pi Day
  13. Peter Percival Patterson's pet pig Porky
  14. March 14, 2021, is just around the corner.
  15. Rather than trying to point out "some either seem off the mark" as a rationalization for the "Deny" votes, you should be wondering why the obvious was not addressed here. I read the entire thread and not once was the issues of, Not permanent, not global in sufficient numbers so there is a prevalence issue. The obvious question is "Why didn't I post?" You will soon figure it out for yourself.
  16. The reason for the denial, are not written in the posting requirements. Yet, pointed out several examples of similar approved waymarks. Basically, it does not matter that there are similar approved waymarks. Over the past several months, I have challenged several of these denials to no avail. Example: In a fairly new category, I submitted what I thought was an acceptable submission. It was denied, I resubmitted with a link to an approved waymark. It was denied again with a comment (paraphrased) I don't care about passed approved waymarks, I won't accept your driveby waymark. Huh? I do not do drive by waymarks, besides the fact the location of this waymark it was impossible to do a drive by. If the reviewer had bothered to look. So why was this waymark denied? Are your waymarks being denied based on requirements that are not part of the posting requirements?
  17. Romanesque Architecture is a possibility, if it does not already accept these, perhaps it could be expanded. Here is an article A beginner's guide to Romanesque architecture which also included Pre-Romanesque. (Pre-Romantic) From what I read, the rounded arches are characteristic of both Romanesque and pre Romanesque.
  18. Example (2007) "Instructions for Posting a xxxxx Waymark: A photo of the xxxxx is required with any listing. If possible, include any identifying signage as well. The group leader reserves the right to re-review all submissions for Compliance with Posting Instructions. Any newly Posted Waymark in this category that does not meet the Posting Requirements must be Declined by the reviewer with a explanation of the Reason for Denial sent to the Waymark poster." (The only requirement is one photo, no long description, 9 variables, 4 are required) In summary: the 4 required variables is a replacement for a long description. There is more information about declining a waymark then about posting one)
