  1. None in the last few days. The last one was Nov. 15, coincidentally the day I got those "Strange Visits" I posted about them. Is there a connection, no idea. I can say I get a lot of visits with some days 50 or so.
  2. Pancake and crepe restaurants ending 11/17/2022 10:11:00 PM - Currently 54 votes. There is an interesting new forum post Letter campaign Decide for yourself.
  3. I have already received correspondence about this same issue. It appears it maybe also happening with the newest peer review. Most of the voters, I do not recognize, and after some profile searches, the majority are not waymarkers evident by the lack of approved waymarks. I am concerned, as this matter warrants further consideration. If these are vote-gathering campaigns, this is an unfair advantage.
  4. If this is the new direction Waymarking is heading, I have several dormant categories I can resurrect. Spent some time reviewing them, and realized I have a folder of pictures that could be new categories as well.
  5. I just received three consecutive visits from the same individual, they are as follows: 1st. test 2nd. Please login with valid credenitals (this was misspelled in the original visit, and not my typo) Username Password Login I receive 100's of visits a month and NEVER received a request for this information 3rd. ghbfdyhdrf
  6. Yippee, with a quick search, I already found 23 that can be cross posted.
  7. I have ideas for at least 9 new food categories, if this proposal passes peer review., it is an open door. Wonder how many will pass peer review? Be sure and be positive, no hate emails.
  8. “The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.” – Henry Ford
  9. Which is it best or finest? ...and just how do you intent to determine if it is "best" or "finest" Check your spelling. Interesting facts: You used 307 words to describe what a pancake/crepe/ is and only 107 words for instructions. How is that... you could have at least spelled it correctly.
  10. Waymark Category Criteria: "Redundant - Could this category be included as a variable in an existing category?"
  11. Is this the direction we are heading? Is Waymarking so desperate for new categories that this proposal is actually being considered as a new category? Let this one pass peer review and it will be used to justify additional similar food categories. How is it going to be justified if one is approved and not all future proposed food categories? My concern, where does this stop! Most of these can be posted in Independent Diners and Independent Breakfast Spots My vote is a firm NAY!
  12. The name still has not been changed, with no response.
  13. While I am at it, there are 75 potential “war sites” categories (1800 to 2022) Source: Britannica
  14. From category: Acceptable waymarks include, but not limited to: - battlefields (exiting category) - museums which contain WWI related artifacts (exiting category) - training centers - vehicles used for WWI military purposes (excludes civilian, unless it was used in battle or a direct and clear connection to WWI) (exiting category) - graves of historic figures (generals, officers, presidents, royalty, unknowns, etc.) (exiting category) - cemeteries (where 50% or more of the cemetery are WWI veterans (cemeteries) (exiting category) this excludes veteran sections unless that section is a different cemetery) The majority of these have existing categories and are cross posted. Also Signs of History
  15. Battlefields comes to mind. Battle of Bloody Creek Battle of Beauport Also, Signs of History
  16. Also, most of these "Historic" brides, (depending on the requirements) can most likely be posted in one of these categories; Historical Marker Categories (64 categories) Australian Historical Markers Belgium Monument Registers Canada (6 Categories) Deutsche Denkmallisten - German Monument Registers Histoires de France (French historical markers) Norway Historical Sites Portuguese Historical Markers Rijksmonumenten - Dutch National Monuments U.S. States A to I (15 Categories) U.S. States K to M (11 Categories) U.S. States N to P (12 Categories) U.S. States R to W (12 Categories) UK Historical Markers
  17. Thanks for pointing out these objections. I will only add, if this historic bridges category proceeds, keep in mind there are 100s of categories that also can be proposed as new "Historic" categories. Including most bridge categories, businesses and shops, some structure categories, then there are categories such as Cemeteries, Fountains, Aqueducts, Windmills, Piers and Marinas, and too many to list.
  18. October 7, 2022, wayfrog reviewed approximately 58 categories many with multiple pending waymarks. There are many categories that are repeatedly reviewed by wayfrog cycle after cycle.
  19. UNESCO Biosphere Reserves is still in the revision process. We are now accepting UNESCO Global Geoparks. Update: October 27, 2022 All approved waymarks that do not meet the new requirements are grandfathered. This category now offers two separate and distinct categories; UNESCO Biosphere Reserves and UNESCO Global Geoparks which address environmental aspects of our continued existence on this planet. Both have, as primary mandates, the promotion and fostering of preservation of our lands, our seas and our atmosphere, that they shall remain productive and habitable well into the future. wayfrog We will need a new category name change to UNESCO Biosphere Reserves and Global Geoparks
  20. In April 2022, the UNESCO’s Executive Board approved the designation of 8 new sites demonstrating the diversity of the planet’s geology as new Geoparks. With this year’s additions, the number of sites in the Global UNESCO Geoparks Network is brought to 177 in 46 countries. UNESCO Global Geoparks (UGGp)
