  1. yes let it go but of course you can't because you used the magic letters - CCCA and now the thread will... Since I am the cacher that has come out and admitted my wrong doing, if you have any questions please feel free to contact me through my Groundspeak account. Gaits
  2. I’m another attendee of GW4 and wanted to throw in my experience. Cudlecub and I had our mountain bikes stolen the first day in Dallas. It was destined to be a week from *&!! from the start. But we made the best of the situation. Unfortunately we didn’t make it to the pre-GW events we had planned on but we met many great people on mini cache runs during our stay. There were so many cachers at GW it was amazing. You really have to be there to understand what a major undertaking it was. Could things have been done differently? Sure. Should they be done differently? It all depends on how you play the game. I understand pocket caches aren’t allowed. Some people log them on line while others don’t. To me the important thing with GeoWoodstock and any event is it’s an opportunity to meet people. Cub put it best that it’s all about the numbers. The number of friends, laughs, and memories that we will remember forever. That’s what GW was for me. Thanks to those who put all the work and effort into GeoWoodstock. It was great to see all the cachers, make new friends, share caching stories and laugh at the craziness that was sometimes going on. The memories will last a lifetime.

  4. CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU CUDLECUB! Was very honored to be there with you (the cacher who got me started) and DMFlyer on your 2K find. You guys are awesome and I have enjoyed every minute of caching with you guys. Thanks to you for the help in getting many finds that I have in such a short period of time. Look forward to many moe caching trips with you. WAY TO GO!
  5. Congratulations DM! Way to go! Was honored to be there with you guys when you nailed 2K. It has been a greta pleasure getting to know you and I always enjoying going after a DM cache. Matter of fact my very first FTF was a DM cache. Get ready to take to Buffalo Mountain...LOL.
  6. I think about geo-caching a lot. I too have had dreams about it. The funniest caching dream that I have had was...I was out with my caching buddies and we were in a park. Each of us had our GPS and at different times we would yell I am zeroed out right here. It was getting confusing each of us in a different spot and each of being zeroed out, usually near a tree or a bush. Finally someone zeroed out at this tree at the same time they noticed a squirrel sitting there. It was also at that time that they noticed a bison tube was tied on the end of the squirrel's tail. It's the cache someone yelled out. Here we are chasing this squirrel all over the park running into trees and each other. Unfortunately I woke up before getting the smiley. I THINK ABOUT GEO-CACHING WAAAAAAY TOO MUCH....LOL
  7. I am getting ready to buy a GPS and have had the new Garmin 60CX recommended to me. I would like to get some feed back from those who have purchased this new unit. All input is welcomed
  8. WOOHOO! Great coin set. Just ordered two. One for myself and one for a gift..... Wonder who will be the lucky person? How do I get one of BBB's other cool coins?
  9. While in Chattanooga Tn my caching buddy and I came across a cache that was under a huge boulder. We could get our hand the and could feel the cache, we could even see the cache but it was impossible to get out. I took a pic of the location and of the hole where the cache was located. We logged it as a find. I think if someone is having trouble reaching the cache first they need to provide you with a picture of where the cache is located and also edit their log. Also maybe you could go check on it and make sure it has not been moved.
  10. I say go for it! I was in Kentucky with some caching buddies ans we went ot one directly under the train tracks. There was a cool story about the location and we had to walk about 200 feet to the location. Again, I say go for it place your cache
  11. That is why I love stickers and lables. Everyone has their name on it and everyone logs it.
  12. Well I am going to place this cache very soon. It will be a lager container that is well camoed with about a hundred 35mm canisters in it. Each will have a note telling you to keep digging. Then in the very bottom will be a nano stuck to the bottom with the "real" coords in it. You then will have to follow those coords to the "true" location of the cache which will be a fake pine cone or acorn. LOL
  13. I say go for it! Make it clear in oyur description what it is. If anyone does not want to be offended by the scriptures then they should not go looking for this cache. As others have said if someone is going to get offended by a Boy Scout Cache (which I do not support them) then they will get offended by anything. But in all honesty I seek the caches for the numbers. So if I came across a Boy Scout cache i would sign it and leave and not worry about the quotes. So if you make it clear in your description what the cache is about then other cachers will have the same choice. So in short place your cache....it is up to you what you put in it....as another cacher said it is a little thing called freedom of religion and speech. Good Luck with it
  14. I would tend to agree. I would place a cache that would celebrate your dads life. I can see where you are coming from wanting to let everyone know about the MADD foundation and related foundations. Being a victim of a drunk driver myself I highly respect your feelings and intentions. I am very glad that you brought up this topic. I myself am interested in placing a "memorial cache". I am wanting to place a series on local hiking trails in memory of my grandmother that suffered from Alzhiemers for 9 years. My plans are to place different things that celebrate different aspects of her life. So maybe that is something for you to consider as well. I am sorry about your loss. Hope this helps you out some in your decision.
  15. Well I have only been caching since Thanksgiving Day 2005 and I can tell you that I enjoy this more than I ever expected to. Who do I think should an accecptable canidate for an award? A cacher who has devoted a lot of time to both FINDING AND HIDING. Someone who is so devoted to the sport that they are known not only in their home area but in many other areas as well. A cacher that you can call at anytime for help and they will drop what they are doing just to help you get the find. A cacher who will give up an entire day to drive you around or ride around with you helping you with the gadgets and the maps of sport jsut so that you can get the find. A cacher who gets as excited about you having 100 finds as he if you had 10,000 finds. All about the numbers? Well isnt it? Isnt it all about how many caches you can find? And if it wasnt for cachers hiding then what would be looking for. So I think it more important to give an award to someone who puts the caches out there for us to find. I think it is important to notice someone who has done a lot for the sport and how can you do that with only a few hundred finds...FYI....I only have 544 so I would not qualify.
