  1. It seems like a waste of space to use the entire top bar for just the user icon and dropdown on the right side, then add another menu under that. I made a mock up of what I think would save space and look nicer.
  2. Awesome, good to hear, the map zoom issue has been bothering me for a while, I have spent a while trying to fix it on my end then realized it's just a leaflet issue. I saw lots of other nice fixes as well. I'm looking forward to the update.
  3. There is an updated version of leaflet that addresses this issue 0.4.5 (October 25, 2012) Fixed a bug with wonky zoom animation in IE10 (by @danzel). #1007 Fixed a bug with wonky zoom animation in Chrome 23+ (by @danzel). #1060 #1056 Please update Leaflet.
  4. I am from the US, when I go to http://www.geocaching.com/my/myfriends.aspx and click on a location, the link is going to the German version of google maps. EDIT: Nevermind, it was a chrome extension I was using that made the location into a google maps link, normally it is not a link at all.
  5. Visit this link geocaching.com/account/ManageEmailAddresses.aspx Add the email address you would like to add and put in your password, you will receive a verification link in that e-mail inbox, once the address is validated you can go back to the Email management link, and click "Set as primary" on the new address, once the new address is set to primary you can delete the other one.
  6. Try Shift+Refresh. It worked for me.
  7. There may be something wrong with the maps right now, I noticed the same thing, everything is selected to show but no caches, strange.
  8. These are the steps I took to make the shortcuts. Select setup from the main menu or the drawer. Select Shortcuts. Select + Create Shortcut. I made the name Off Road. I used the boot prints icon. No need to change the profile. Select setup, scroll down to the routing group and select activity, select direct routing. Nothing selected for Where to?. And finally select application and scroll down to select Map. Create the On road the same way I just used a different icon, and select the Automobile routing instead of direct routing for the routing activity. You then can go back to the list of shortcuts, select the one you just created then select add to main menu. I hope you are able to follow along and get some shortcuts setup, and I hope Garmin fixes the issue with shortcuts soon.
  9. I talked with Garmin support and the first thing they told me is that the Montana 600 does not come with route-able maps, but I do have city navigator installed, and it does switch to street mode the second time, after clearing that up he told me that his is doing the same thing, and others reported the same problem, hopefully it will be fixed in a firmware update.
  10. I made two shortcuts, one changes the routing mode to direct then switches to the map application, the other selects automobile routing then switches to the map application. They do work but only the second time I tap the shortcut. Say I'm navigating to a cache using turn by turn directions, when I get close I would like to tap the X then tap my Off Road shortcut which would switch to direct routing and go back to the map. But it doesn't, it's still in turn by turn mode, I have to tap X again then tap the shortcut again, then it works. Am I doing something wrong or is it just a bug that hasn't been worked out yet?
  11. Thanks for doing that for everyone who wants to activate new coins, Like myself.
  12. Is there any other way to get activation codes? I got 2 coins on the 9th and the site has been down since.
  13. Ok, I think I have finally finished the documentation, It is on a read-only Text file on the camera itself so when you plug it in you can get all the information you need. Now all i have to do is go out caching untill i meet someone to hand it off too. The project is about to get interesting. -Mike
  14. It will be a hand off only TB, Thank you for the suggestion.

  16. UPDATE: I am finalizing the documentation explaining how this will all work, and I have decided to request that people only hand the camera off to other cachers, either people that they know, or people they meet while caching. The camera can be taken on caching trips and dip into each cache visited to gather miles. Please let me know if you think this is a good way to do it. Thank you for all the suggestions. -Mike p.s. Don't forget to subscribe to the VideoTravelBug on Youtube.
  17. Today, I got the camera and the dog tags in the mail, the TB is active here is the link. Video Travel Bug -Mike
  18. Update:Project Video Travel Bug is a GO. I went on amazon and found the flip mino, which is the same as the ultra except smaller (which is better for caching) it was used and only Half Price. I bought a new Bug as well for it, and I am getting a small watertight container to put it into to keep it protected from the elements, it will only fit in large caches, but that is ok. To maximize its chances of success I will preload a video on the camera which will be Read Only so that it will not get deleted from the camera, the video will explain what the camera is for and instructions to get it back in circulation if any muggles happen to come across it. The youtube channel is youtube.com/VideoTravelBug. If you are on YouTube Please Subscribe. The password to the account can only be found by catching the bug. Wish the project good luck! -Mike
  19. My UPS Truck has been missing for 3 years. It was a cool idea, A Micro Cache attached to the travel bug, Making "deliveries". It went about 200 miles then disappeared.
  20. Thanks for your input, the point you bring up is exactly why I am debating it. It would be a really cool project and I have some faith in the geocaching community to want to do cool things and help with the project without stealing the camera, and being aware of what caches they place them into to keep it as safe as possible. The way i see the price though is that it is only a few hours of work that I am giving up it isn't really all that much. - Mike
  21. I am posting on the forum to help me decide if I should do it or not, and get ideas about how I can maximize the chances of it actually working. I will post the link to the Bug as well as the youtube channel if I go ahead and do it. -Mike
  22. Hello Cachers, I have been out of caching for a while and would like to get back into it again, I'm also into doing interesting social media projects. Here is my idea, Setup a YouTube account, buy a camera, attach a TB to it and allow whoever finds it to record and post videos to the channel. The camera i was looking into is the Flip Ultra, it is very compact, takes good video, very easy to use, and is about $150.00. It has the potential to have alot of very cool and interesting videos from all over the world, and i think the price would be worth it, but Tb's sometimes go missing and that is a lot of money to just go missing. I was thinking of suggesting in the description that it only be placed in premium caches, so only really dedicated people will see where it is. Thoughts and suggestions appreciated. -Mike
