Must you ALWAYS talk crap about your fellow geocachers? Can't you just be helpful with your "wise knowlege"? I couldn't help but post here and after looking at ALL of your posts, I've come to the conclusion that you rarely have anything nice to say to anyone. Oh, that's right, I forgot! You were born in Jersey; that explains everything! LOLOLOL Geez, you don't have to call other members names like that!
Well, Lapaglia, I was born in New York and I am pretty cool people and I think your idea is great! We just came back from Colorado ON VACATION ( Springs & Pueblo West ) and I know exactly what you are saying. That is how they hide some of them out there; it's all desert and dirt roads! Burying it half way or uncovered by dirt in the ground would be ideal. Even Eric's idea sounds great! The west does not have the trees that the east has.
Your post was doing fine, with alot of helpful people willing to give you their opinion. Until Snat had to put his abusive two cents in.
Too bad I wasn't still there; I'd go find it!

I don't know you, MAG, and I'm not sure I'd want to know someone as negative as you, but I would guess you have conflicts with somebody everyday. Try having a positive attitude, you will find out that life is more enjoyable. So is geocaching! What did YOU do before geocaching, I wonder!

This has got to be what everyone is upset about. While on vacation, we DID GO GEOCACHING, DUH!!! How could you possibly think that we went all that way and didn't find any caches? We introduced geocaching to several new members, one of which will be maintaining the cache in Pueblo West. We are not expecting anyone to "babysit" our cache in Indiana either.

If there were any problems with our caches, there are plenty of kind hearted geocachers out there that would check on it for us. How do you know we won't check on it ourselves? We like to drive! LOL We don't expect ANYONE to feel like they have to "babysit" our caches. I would if someone asked us; what's the big deal anyways?

We hid both of our, out of state caches, about two weeks ago. So far there hasn't been a problem. Just like there has been no problems with our hometown caches.
We just love reading the logs at both geocaching websites, when a member finds one of our treasures.

It was absolutely great placing these caches! A whole new set of geocachers to meet! As far as maintaining our caches out there, we feel we can rely on our fellow geocachers in case a problem arises. If the log book needed to be replaced because the pages were filled with logs, I'm sure a fellow geocachers wouldn't mind helping us out!
We feel it was well worth placing these caches regardless of whether or not they work out in the long run. Besides, I have seen where teams will adopt a cache for another due to the team moving out of state, for example, and could no longer maintain it. We found one in Pueblo West just like that. At least the cache was being found even without the original owner around. Besides, we have really enjoyed reading the logs from members that are hundreds of miles away!
So we feel if you're going on a vacation thousands of miles from home, especially while driving, there is nothing wrong with hiding a cache or two! The more the merrier!

Wepersonally have contributed our time gathering trash that others put there. We did it for the environment and to keep giving cachers a good name.
As far as private property goes, I can understand someone's concern. But the odds are very slim that a cache would be placed on YOUR property. We personally don't know the statistics, but we know for a fact that there are very few illegal caches placed. So to draw more attention to this subject doesn't make sense at all. All we know is that we haven't heard of any dramatic geocaching stories out here in Rochester, NY!
As far as I know, most geocachers respect the hobby. Let's try getting more positive out of geocaching than negative.

I personally feel that worrying about another person's cache just adds stress to your life. If the cache is not yours, then don't worry about it. I understand trying to be a geocaching hero and all, but to each his own.
If the cache isn't causing bodily harm or putting someone's life in danger, then don't stress it. All you have to do is worry about yourself or your team. I understand, that it might bother you, some cachers break the rules. But as long as it's not your cache, then why stress???????? Duane from

As the owner of the caches, we don't care what item you want to trade. Just as long as you think it's a fair trade. So far, all of our caches are doing great. We have lots of activity at our caches and the trading has been great. Every geocacher has traded fair.

Unless the cache owner clearly states what specific item goes into the cache then the owner of the cache probably won't mind what item was traded.
We just like reading the logs when our caches are found. Thats almost as fun as going on an adventure itself.

There has been a couple of caches that we missed, but it was our own fault. We didn't read the complete cache information. All we did was enter the coords and off we went. Ever since then, we make sure we read the whole description of the cache, and then decide if we are going to use the clues or not.
Why would anyone want to discourage a future cacher is beyond me!

The number one thing, though, is posting the correct coordinates. We all understand that the weather plays a big part in it, too, but that's where the rating and the clues come in. There has been a couple of caches that we missed, but it was our own fault. We didn't read the complete cache information. All we did was enter the coords and off we went. Ever since then, we make sure we read the whole description of the cache, and then decide if we are going to use the clues or not.
Why would anyone want to discourage a future cacher is beyond me!

We had a great time finding this Cache. Alot of time and energy went into hiding this one. I wish there were more like them in our area. Casey

I agree with Attila and Shannah. People who can afford to contribute to this wonderful world of geocaching can contribute. If I could afford it, I would. Why should someone who is less fortunate be left out? It's not so much as "being less fortunate", but I feel that if someone is so "into" geocaching and they don't have the extra money, why should they be excluded? You are to have fun, and that is all!!! Fun = Satisfaction, right?

Must you ALWAYS talk crap about your fellow geocachers? Can't you just be helpful with your "wise knowlege"? I couldn't help but post here and after looking at ALL of your posts, I've come to the conclusion that you rarely have anything nice to say to anyone. Oh, that's right, I forgot! You were born in Jersey; that explains everything! LOLOLOL Geez, you don't have to call other members names like that!
Well, Lapaglia, I was born in New York and I am pretty cool people and I think your idea is great! We just came back from Colorado ON VACATION ( Springs & Pueblo West ) and I know exactly what you are saying. That is how they hide some of them out there; it's all desert and dirt roads! Burying it half way or uncovered by dirt in the ground would be ideal. Even Eric's idea sounds great! The west does not have the trees that the east has.
Your post was doing fine, with alot of helpful people willing to give you their opinion. Until Snat had to put his abusive two cents in.
Too bad I wasn't still there; I'd go find it!

P.S. We managed to hide one while we were there in Pueblo West; Snat doesn't like that idea either! Shhhhhhhh!
