And if you want to define "top cacher," there are lots of things to consider besides find count.
I was thinking the same thing when I wrote my post.
To me, this is the world's top cacher...
Now he is the top cacher...

#1 What is your longest running cache with the LEAST number of finds.
My longest running cache (also my only cache) is my Top O the World cache. It has been around since late 2002 with lots of attempts, but only 1 find.
It sat unfound for just over 25 months the first stint, but that record is being challenged as it has currently been 24-1/2 months since it's last find.
#2 Why?
It is located waaay down in Baja near La Paz. It is not too far away from civilization, but getting there is really tough. One of the attempts was by an organization that does off-road tours down in that area. The leader of the group called for a pit stop right at my cache location with the agenda to nab my cache. He had the whole group looking for it, but came up empty handed. Fortunately he did post some cool pics.
#3 Why do you keep it listed instead of archiving it?
It is a grandfathered vacation cache which is kinda cool. We have a house down in Baja and I check on it when I get the chance. Keeping it also allows me to post to these kinds of threads when they pop up from time to time.

I too am registered in the Austrailian site, although I dont recall ever being south of the equator. Odd.
I'm on the Australian site because I found a couple of LCs that were listed as being in Australia and because I owned an LC that was 'found' in Australia.
That makes sense now. After a little research, it would appear that you and I logged the lame LC within 3 weeks of each other - nearly 4 1/2 years ago.

I would greatly appreciate it if someone could create an image of Mater (from the movie Cars) that I could use as a avatar.
Thanks!

Hello,
In the off-road world there are several entities that incorporate live vehicular GPS tracking online. Here are a couple of sites that may shed some light for what you are looking for.

The first (and only) cache (GCA122) I hid was way back in October 2002. It went for approximately 773 days (25½ months) before a FTF was logged. Currently it has been unfound for 412 days (13½ months) and counting. According to the logs on the page, it has only been found 25% of the time. Looking at the waterfall picture posted, it would appear that approximately 14 people were looking for it at one time (maybe more), and all were stumped.

Wow, there are some pretty sweet avatars being created in here. I've always thought about how we need an actual avatar (something other than just some random pic), but I wasn't sure how to come up with something for AZBliss02. <snip>
I'll probably get in trouble for this one, but I rather like the random picture.

Congrats ParentsofSam!!
I feel like an indirect winner for your avatar. You will have to post a picture when you get the staff so we can all see El Diablo's fine work.

Ok, after fiddling on my own, I have come to the conclusion that I have no artistic ability whatsoever. Would someone please help me with an avatar?
I was thinking of combining the Geocaching G with a Star of David (I'm Jewish) and/or a Space Needle (I live in Seattle). ...</snip>

That is absolutely AWESOME! Very cool and works well for a coin or an avatar. Make the font bigger for the name and we're sold! When we finally get coins made you'll be the first to receive one. Thanks a bunch.

Good Luck with your coins...

I was thinking about something that would lend itself to a coin. Noltex, a derivation of our last name, is meant to have a "high tech" sound. One idea I had would be to use an atom symbol, such as this:
and put Team Noltex around it or somehow worked into it. We use a Sportrak, which is roughly oblong like the ellipses in the symbol. Maybe put that in the middle? Soccerballs for the spheres? I'm not married to this, it's only one idea. If only I had Photoshop!
Heres a quick and dirty attempt.

I do have a larger file, but the only thing I use it for is to create an avatar in the different forums, and I have to down-size it every time I do.
My interest in getting it cleaned up now is to use it as artwork to submit for the obverse of a geocoin.
If you need the larger file for that I can email it.
Thanks!
Ed
Hi Ed,
Go ahead and send me the larger file and I will make the necessary adjustments for you. Contact me through my geocaching account.

BRDAD made my avatar for me, a couple years ago, and now I want to use it for the obverse of a geocoin. My needs are minor - the shoes are uncolored, I suppose they should be black (?), and there is no green grass between the legs.
And the name should be TheAlabamaRambler.
Anyone wanna take a shot at filling these in for me?
Thanks,
Ed
Do you have a larger picture of the artwork to work with, or do you just want the avatar sized one changed?

You guys are doing some awesome stuff here. Anyone wanna' take a stab at an "otherworldly" design for us?
We need something we can use for sig items, and if it works as an avatar as well, that's great. We'd like to incorporate the traditional GC colors, maybe a traditional "grey" alien face, or flying saucer, or crop circle. It should be "alien friendly" ... no evil alien theme.
We are a husband (Mulder) & Wife (Scully) team. We use a Garmin Map60C and an iPAQ pocket PC. Our OGRV (official geocache recovery vehicle) is a maroon Blazer with the tag "GO-CACHE." Of course, not all of this needs to be included in the design, just giving info...
Can't wait to see what you guys come up with!
Edit: oh, yeah...probably nothing too "cartoonish," but more hi-techish
Ok, since nobody else is stepping up, heres my lame attempt at a geo-crop circle.

Wide avatars don't really work too well on these forums as it is limited to a width of 75 pixels. I don't believe there is a limit on the height of an avatar. One way to get around that is to cut out any extraneous parts on the side to make the avatar more slender. In the case of your avatar, simply stacking the subjects works too.
