  1. Is that still going on? And wasn't 1 or 2 of my caches in the middle of it? I seem to remember logs to that effect between parties concerned, in which case the responsible party is revealed in them. Ahhh, slightly off topic but..... Stonefisk, we have missed your cache placing recently, any chance of a come back?
  2. Nothing to swap as Bristol must have had an allocation of about 2 but would welcome one from anyone who was lucky enough to obtain more than one. Don't mind what flavour it would be as they are for releasing not keeping in some sort of 'set' IMHO (wishfull thinking but you never know!)

  4. Stuey, I've gone for the 300 and it is a great bit of kit, I agree, if MM comes on board I will be laughing all the way to the next micro
  5. Forget this park, isn't the rest of London big enough elsewhere for a few caches?
  6. I have to agree with the Blorenges regarding the need for MM to back up the topo maps. There is a fair bit missing from the topo that you sometimes need MM to help with, particularly footpaths. The option for MM on the Oregon looks quite exciting, especially if the initial launch is expanded to 1:50000 of the whole UK, that would make MM obsolete for me. The Oregon is without doubt the best bit of caching kit I have used to date, this would just make it better.
  7. That's because you are looking at the unit upside down, doh! Seriously it isnt a clip for the belt, more one for a lanyard. In relation to the unit it is without doubt the best available bit of kit for caching, soooo many features to mention but a touch screen, scrolling maps, paperless caching, need I go on...
  8. Has anyone managed to get the tasks working yet for these models. Mine fails to display the picture or words on the tasks.
  9. Nope, still cant get this function to work, can someone who has got this emulator check to work help please? Thanks
  10. Hmm, just humour me Gary, that suggested code isnt working, just remind me, its been a while: I edit the LUA file in notebook, then open it in builder and publish to machine to creat a GWC file to run in the emulator? Done that and error message pops up 'unable to save cartridge' after editing the script. Thanks
  11. Tried pasting in rangerfox's code in the onstart section of a cartridge but it now fails to publish to my machine. I already have an onstart function of showing a splash screen. Do I have to delete this function or have I made a coding boob? Thanks function cartBackwellWander:OnStart() -- #GroupDescription=start up -- -- #Comment=start up Comment -- Wherigo.MessageBox{Media=zmediasplashscreen,Buttons={"click here to continue",},} Wherigo.PlayAudio(zmediapacmanintro) end function cartBackwellWander:OnStart() DeviceID = Env.DeviceID if Wherigo.NoCaseEquals(DeviceID,"Desktop") then Wherigo.MessageBox{Text=[[Sorry, but emulator use is discouraged]],Buttons={"OK",},} zoneMainZone.Active = false end
  12. what I planned was for for a player to enter a zone which would start the timer counting down, a message box would pop up asking for an input. If it is answered correctly before the timer got to zero then the timer would stop and a congratulatory message box would open and the next zone would become active/visible. if however the incorrect answer is given but within the time a try again message is displayed, the player leaves and re-enters the zone and the question pops up again. If however the timer gets to zero a 'punishment' zone becomes active resulting in a diversion away from the route to collect different information before continuing.
  13. I am trying to set a zone where on entering a player has 30 secs of time to enter an answer to a question. Here is what I have done so far but have become stuck. created a variable with value 30 created a timer with a set interval (not countdown) to 1 second and when a timer tick occurs to decrement it by one Set the timer to start on entering zone and the question to be asked, so far so good. I then move to the player input (answer to the question) this is where I become stuck Can set it if the timer is greater than 0 AND the answer is correct to show a message and stop timer but then struggle to add two additional bits; if the timer is greater than 0 AND the answer is incorrect to show a message or if the timer is at 0 regardless of answer to show another different message. I run out of the ability to add the AND bits. Could someone post the correct conditional tests and actions to compile in what order. Thanks
  14. That is it, thanks for the help Ranger Fox, back to the desktop. I have found out what is causing the crash and corruption; it is when adding other than a couple of words to the optional buttons or adding script runs to them, strange.
  15. yes I do, here it is........... Backwell_Wander.zip
  16. I have been busy compiling a simple zone to zone cartridge and decided to add in a variable that incremented if a zone had been entered so that is a player reached a further zone but had not visited an intermediate one they would be displayed a message to go back. having fiddled aroung I tried to save the cartrideg in the builder and a message flashed up and then the builder closed. having tried to open up the same cartidge I get the following message: I have opened the cartridge in notepad and tried to remove all reference to the variable that seems to have caused the crash but still cannot open it. I would be grateful for any help please. i have attached the current file. Backwell_Wander.zip
  17. I have to agree, I have had a 60CSx for over a year and the accuracy and operation is rock solid. Having switched to a CO caching has been different; much better with the cache description, logs and hints which save the PDA uploads but really poor accuracy, having to recalibrate the compass every start up and a lack of the really useful features on the 60. If the CO is to become THE geocachers GPS it has a way to go yet IMHO.
  18. Oh look the needle has stuck again..................
  19. I agree with BlazingOtters, I did this one and it really in the most amazing tree. the website from the Hornet is really interesting.
  20. Glad to join the thread for congrats to Chaotica_UK on reaching 1000 caches, well done!!
  21. And another thing, the Hancock Clan have their own version of a flatcoat on their avitar! Plus it will also be 5.57am here later on, spooky.
  22. Am finding a few problems with the CO but hope they will be rectified wirth a new update. these include: some caches freezing the screen (battery pull required) some caches cause unit to turn off some cache descriptions are gobbledygook/over written accuracy sometimes isnt as good as 60CSx (many posts on this) compass needs recalibrating EVERY start up. On the plus side the cache descriptions, logs and hints in one place is sooo good, no more PDA, memorymap transfers etc. Some plus points, some negatives, but I can live with it for a bit If someone has a handy link to OS map transfer onto a garmin I would appreciate it, thanks
  23. The Cartooners have very successfully managed this, you can find their posts in these forums.
