  1. I am seeking a Suncatcher Lighthouse coin, any metal, new or circulated. Thanks CG
  2. Really good work. I've also got a subset for the YOSM series, unfortunately I cant post it as I have some finds so it would be incomplete but it would be a good addition for cachers.
  3. Not according to the official leader board, which I take it is the last word in the competition?
  4. Just invested in the Tesco 1kg pitted prunes in syrup. Says on the label that it is one of my '5 a day' I expect, as I am now nearing the bottom of the jar it will be more than 5 for me tomorrow! I'm sure it will all be worth it, must go........................
  5. Some really helpful stuff here. I am based in the UK and will be heading for the Rosen Shingle Creek hotel in Orlando soon. I want to chase some benchmarks as well as caches whilst over and hope someone can just provide a little help: Is there a way of just downloading those benchmarks within a 5 mile radius of where I am staying (as I have done with the caches). Secondly downloading the NGS datasheet sheet, naming it as a DAT file and then converting it to GPX worked fine, except I have a combination of benchmark icons and puzzle icons in GSAK. can someone provide the bits I need to input to into the NGS search just to get the benchmarks. Many thanks
  6. Oh woe is me. I have been working on a new cartridge for some days now and have got to the stage to publish to my computer to have a look round and I get the following message: Error Making the Cartridge Exception of type 'System.ApplicationException' was thrown. I have tried republishing one of my old cartidges to my PC with no issues so it is clearly something specific to the new one. I have gone through it but nothing untoward is apparent on first take. Does anyone have an inkling as to what may be likely to give this message to narrow my search down further, I really don't want to start this one again!
  7. If you google for OpenStreetMap you can download and convert a map of pretty much anywhere to run on your 300. I have recently discovered it and it is a fantastic way of caching without forking out for topos
  8. I have been sticking with 2.97b since its release but am finding issues under tree cover, it simply wanders so much more than previous releases. All other updates and changes are excellent but this is a noticable backward step in accuracy, why I don't know but something has definately changed.
  9. ....and just how do you damage a touch screen??
  10. The Disciple Cacher someone who follows the church micro series regardless of faith.
  11. This thread got me looking at OpenStreetMap (OSM), which seems to be an excellent resource and after a few evenings I am happy editing and adding to maps. More importantly the ability to convert the OSM maps, for wherever you like, into a Garmin .img file using the neat mkgmap software is excellent. I have just experimented with the Channel Islands and now have bespoke maps on a micro SD card to use. If you haven't had a dig into this and have a garmin then try it, after a few hours practise you can have really detailed maps on your GPSR for any area in the world. Thanks for drawing attention to this area of mapping to me.
  12. I think Captain Gor-tex has done this already with Bristol Curios #25 (unless he is the cacher you're refering too.....) Do it though, if nothing else the rest of us will have fun trying to solve it Ha, Curio #25 has already been solved and retrieved *Mickey* and I resemble resent that comment absolutely, but in this case it isn't me, Im not that Disorganised (hint) That said these ciphers (in Bristol and worse still in the very hilly Welsh badlands also in my radius) are doing nothing for early nights......now back to Moscow
  13. I think Mark deserves a linked series of cipher caches within the 5km range that lead incrementally forward culminating in an AES triple DES hybrid cipher requiring the combined computer power of the western hemisphere to solve it (in approximately 55 years on full power with NSA and NASA link ups). Let's see him 'breath' a sigh of relief then. Oh bugger his radius is almost the same as mine, scrap the idea immediately.....
  14. I can't find the instructions for converting OSM into a useable format for Garmin, does anyone have a 'How to' guide at all?
  15. Martin, could I ask a favour please? As I have UK TOPO could you split the files so that The Channel Islands and the IOM are separate files (with contours if possible). I can then look at adding them to the existing TOPO tiles or putting them on a different MicroSD card to prevent overwriting the existing image file I have of the UK. Many thanks
  16. Splashy, I have had no PMs from you at all, not sure what is going on but I have emailed you my email address in case they are being held up by GS somehow.
  17. Okay, well my excuse is only flew back into the country in the small hours and still feeling groggy so here is the revised and correct post asking for help: I have deleted the worldwide basemap from my Garmin Oregon 300. This only became apparent when I was in Malta this week. Having searched the net I have failed to source a copy of the image file. Can some kind soul please mail me a copy of the basemap image file from their Garmin Oregon 300 so I can reinstall it? Many thanks in advance and please ignore my previous post with the wrong (previous) GPS I had!!
  18. Splashy, not sure if my firewall has blocked this but nothing has come through. Just to confirm looking for the worldwide basemap for the Garmin 300, any help gratefully received. I have asked for this thred to be locked, lost the plot, new post to follow!
  19. I have manged to successfully delete by basemap from my GPS, only discovered when I went abroad recently and there it was, gone! Could some helpful person please send me the basemap file and the correct folder location so I can put it back? Many thanks.
  20. Just a couple of quick questions: Using the FDL generator I can't hear what is being produced, is this correct? and Once created as an FDL I want to add it as a WAV for other devices, when I change the file type and try to play it again it doesnt sound on the lap top showing it as an unknown codec, am I on the right track? Thanks
  21. I have to agree, I have contacted them on a few occassions and the service has been excellent. Well done Garmin UK, keep it up.
