  1. I like puzzles in general, but I hate the puzzle caches in my area. You shouldn't have to be a CIA codebreaker (I live near DC so...) to figure it out. I see pictures with little or no description (like it's obvious), references to obscure math, astronomy and music. I also see alot of one-upsmanship and secret inside riddles or information. Caches shouldn't be exclusive to a group of longtime cachers that know history newer folks can't reference. In fact most of the puzzle caches in my area are found by phoning an in-the-know friend or contacting the cache owner. If it's that hard, something's wrong. What satisfaction is there in giving up and asking someone?
  2. I see a lot of logs that say coordinates are "Dead On". I also see a lot of logs that say a CO's coordinates are off by x number of feet. Whose coordinates are better? I have a Magellan Explorist GC and I almost never find "Dead On" coordinates. I assume my GPS is less accurate than others because I often have to search a wide area. I distrust my GPS so much that I rely more heavily on the tracking feature to zero in on a cache. I've read that it's common for coordinates to be off by about 20 feet, but it seems there is some level of accuracy that may be common to some GPS models. Do coordinates match up better between certain units or do I have one of lesser quality?
  3. BSG (2004) is one of the best shows ever! 78,527
  4. I wouldn't say it's required... Caches galore!
  5. As part of cache maintenance, do you ever review the logbook relative to the entries on geocaching.com? What do you do with logbooks that are filled up?
  6. I told my daughter I was going to hide her gifts and give her the coordinates to find them. She didn't like the idea.
  7. I'm fairly new to this but it seems to me that the TB should be able to physically fit inside a cache. Is it proper for TBs to be logged as visiting caches too small to accommodate them?
  8. Great idea! I'm new to geocaching and it seems like a lot of fun to me. I'm trying to get my daughter interested so we can do something together that doesn't involve video games or sitting on the couch. I'd like to adopt a coin for her as a way to cultivate her interest and encourage her to get out and be active.
