Sorry Benji I didn't mean to hikjack your thread.... please forgive me Alan--A friend told me to download this from a file sharing program and I have done it. I guess what I am wondering is if I can upload it to my GPS and then it will be there OR is there some sort of install code that I am missing to make this not work. I am so new to this and so confused

How do you unlock it if there is no unlock code? Is this something that even though you can find it to download online you really have to purchase it to use it?

please help! I got my husband a Garmin Etrex Vista C for Christmas. He was super excited until he started to try to figure it out. He can't seem to find the info/help he needs on the Garmin website. And he just learned that you can only load Garmin maps. which in his searching cost around $140 for topo maps. Can anyone lead me to a Garmin Etrex Vista C for Dummies website or at least one is more user friendly? For those who have this GPS where/how do you get your maps? Can you really only use the Garmin ones? How can I make this the cool present I thought it was??

Thank y'all so much! I have been doing most of this research by myself and so I am a little nervous about making such a large purchase with out my husbands opinions. I am looking to get my husband a GPS for Christmas to start him on his caching way. These are the two that I have come down to...I think. Which would y'all recomend and why? Or have I totally missed the boat and should look somewhere else. I went to REI over the weekend and I swear the guy there would not listen that I didn't want to spend over $400. I want something good, with all the features he could want so that he doesnt get frustrated and it ends up in a drawer somewhere.
