  1. hello fellow cachers I am sending a T-bug to ElCajon around the end of April with a non-geocacher(mother-in-law) after she visits us in Florida. I am looking for someone who can get this little fellow into a California cache. If anyone can help please email. The bug eventually is headed to Hawaii and then return to Florida. This move is being done with the bug owners permission.thanks for any assistance the federation boldly going where others have gone before

  5. I recently held a geocampout and and one of our event caches was a night cache. once you got to the final location you had to triangulate the postion of the cache. the cachers each stood at one of the three points and held there flashlight on a compass heading till the beams found the intersection point and they found the cache. it was a great cache for an event. The cache is Voices from the scrub by the federation boldly going where others have gone before

  8. Has anybody ever noticed that the the movie " The Soggy Bottom Boys" is actually a movie about geocaching. Throughout the movie they talk about seeking a treasure. The are constantly giving clues to the cache George Clooney says "we arein a tight spot boys" and they even have a old, blind, black man give you the long description of the cache. I just thought it was interesting thatHollywood is now trying to get into the act. boldly going where others have gone before

  10. i don't mind doing truly unique virtuals. this one sounds unique to me, but what is the reasoning for not doing a micro or a vitual at this location. even if you have to do a offset or multi-stage where they could go to the bhudda to get some bit of info for the final cache you have got some one to the bhudda. but i think it is worthy of a virtual. the federation boldly going where others have gone before
  11. the lazy cachers told me that suburban isles park on the southside was in dire need of cleanup. have not seen much activity on this post do we want to work or not jacksonville boldly going where others have gone before

  13. we have recently had a meeting at westside and it didn't really look all that bad. how about it other cachers ideas for parks. possibly st john river water managemnt lands. that maybe be relation building with them.
  14. We have 2 similiar caches in our area. they were handled 2 different ways. the first one cacher set up a multi where you had to find info from the cemetary andplug it in to come up with the cache coordinates. the second which is a cache I am cuurently doing will be located as close to the cemetary as possible but not in. the cemetarty is very old and fragile so I will not expose to that kind of foot traffic but it will be viewable fron cache site. I had several discussions with area cachers and theey felt both methods would be ok. I also had one cacher tell me he thought it would be cool to be bremated and sent out as a travel bug if he could still log caches as finds and get miles on his bug tag.

  20. HI Jeremy we appreciate the oppurtunity to voice our opinion on this issue. I guess I am one of the few who do locationless caches. They have actually caused us to do some quite extensive searches for submarine memorials where there are only one in each state or a statue where there are only 110 in existence, but I also can see some lame, no thought caches. I think a seperate catergory would be fine and tighter restricrions on placement. Also it might be helpful to put certain days of the week for submittal when normal caches usually run lower or an explanation of why this would be a unique ie only 110 in existence type requirent for submital something to make the prep work a little more in depth. the federation
  21. mr snazz, ididn't originally post to this because of the time frame. but while I was caching saturday my meridian was weird also I was traveling north on hwy 17 with 4 strong satellites for 30 minutes or so looked over and ha nothing. 0 satellites turned off unit, plugged in to cigarette lighter in case of batteries. pulled over to side of road, nothing seem to work. i knew the general area i was searching for 35 to 40 minute later satellites came back up and I had no problem the rest of the day. curious about time differences we all seem to be experiencing similar problems.
  22. will be posting cache next week for mar 22 weekend. hope there is plenty of people there. have commitment of 15 now
