  1. A basic eTrex or Magellan would be great Or, I can combine several items to trade for a GPS with more features.
  2. Well, it's only cheating if it's against the rules established for our race - and it's not. Other TB's have already been to Japan and Australia and back in the same manner. I figure you can't get any farther from here than the Arabian Peninsula. The closer to 63 degrees East longitude the better!!
  3. Hi! I'm in southern California and I have a TB in a race with our local caching group. My original TB has vanished, but I'd like to reissue it to stay in the race. I know I have no chance of winning for most miles and most caches, but there is a category for logging TB into farthest cache from here. I'd like to mail my re-issued TB to you (actually, it'd have to be my son mailing it since he is not in the race) in July when they visit here. I'd like it placed in any cache in that part of the world. I don't care if it ever moves from there, but if you want to mail it back after it is logged (for more milage), I'll pay that postage also. Thanks! Jerry
  4. If you email the owner, a lot of puzzle cache owners will also tell you if you have the correct coords before you head out. Don't forget to use "Select All" under Edit (ctrl-A) to show any hidden type in white fonts.
  5. I got my son a Palm V on eBay for $20 and it works great with Cachemate! Cachemate is supposed to work with any PDA with PalmOS 3.0 or higher. I personally use a Palm Tungsten C - built in Wi-Fi for when I'm near a Wi-Fi hotspot, and built in thumb-board type keyboard. I hate writing everything on the screen.
  6. I was reading through this topic for the first time today. Bottom line for me is that geocachers are adults (or younger folks under adult supervision) and any ADULT who geocaches, newbie or not, has to be responsible for their own safety. For those ADULTS that can't be responsible, then that's what the "Darwin Awards" were invented for! IMHO
  7. If that's $145 for both, I'll take them! NO ! That's $145 each plus postage. I assumed so, but never hurts to ask. Would have been too good to pass up
  8. If that's $145 for both, I'll take them!
  9. Still everything except the printer and the XM radio for trade . Got an older GPSr you want to trade for my items? I'd love to use them for my own children as well as the kids at school. I am happy to combine items to cover your GPS. Thanks for looking! Jerry Southern California / Inland Empire
  10. Thanks!!! That seems to be the list - still can't get some to work. Oh well.
  11. thanks again! I tried some of them - some work, some don't on log entires. Was hoping to find a list of the ones that specifically work on log entries without having to test them all myself
  12. Thasnk! I'm okay on the code for cache pages - but there is a much more limited list and some different syntax in what you can use on a cache LOG. That's the list I'm tying to find.
  13. Does anyone have a list of the codes (Html? BB codes?) that are allowed in cache logs? Thanks!
  14. What they didn't mention in this article is that Steve has 146 cache hides also. That is also a very good number (#56 in the world)! I've had the pleasure of geocaching with Steve and you have to realize that he has a wicked sense of humor. I'd say that the writer did not always know what was the truth and what was a joke on him. Yes, Steve likes to drive as close as he can to a cache, but even caching in the desert, I didn't see him or anyone in our group of 11 vehicles drive over anything they shouldn't have. The day he had the LA Times reporter and photographer, Steve visited a couple of my caches. I was hoping to see one in a photo - but it wasn't meant to be. If you want to look it up, the photo of his Jeep from a distance going up a hill from that day as they searched for "Cache4Fun-01" (GCCA04) - a perfect description of what the whole point of this sport is.
  15. I found a TB tag attached to a toy ATV in a cache on Jan. 1, 2006. When I went to log it, I found that it was not activated. I emailed gc.com and was told to keep ckecking it and if it was not activated after a month (tomorrow!), then I would be given an activation code and it would become mine.
  16. I still have most of these items available for trade See 1st and 2nd post
  17. Seen a few people looking to sell their GPSr after upgrading. You want to trade it for something I have??
  18. Alright, Santa's done his thing .. anyone get a new GPS and looking to get rid of their old one? Look at the first and second posts above to see what I have to trade for your old GPS. Thanks!
  19. I know time is almost up, but would love to get this one logged before end of year I'm in Redlands, are you in Hino, Japan??
  20. The Wins98SE is the full version. Looking at eBay, they seem to go anywhere from $50 to $80+. I'd trade it for a used yellow eTrex, or even combine the Win98 with something else to cover the GPS unit.
  21. All other items listed in previous posts are still available for trade. Any extra GPS's I get can be used for family members and/or with students at school. Any of the listed items can be combined with others to help make a trade happen! The Win98 CD and Office2000 CD are worth $75-100 each on eBay - though I'd rather get them to a fellow geocacher that needs them in trade for a working GPSr
  22. Looks like the XM Radio is off the market - traded with BadAndy for a Sportrak map. Thanks.
  23. sorry BadAndy - didn't get an email I adjusted filter (i think) try again?
  24. Along with the other trade items, I also have the following available for trade. Would rather trade for a GPSr than have to mess with eBay. - Delphi XM MyFi (XM Radio) portable receiver with home and auto kit + antenna headphones (new in box) see http://www.xmradio.com/myfi/index.jsp for details - Screen for Dell Inspiron 1000 notebook
