  1. On the recommendation on here i went ahead and got my self the HTC hero for a phone. Still learning how to use it. What is a good application to down load for paperless??? What do the new application capable of doing on the new phones??? I would like to down load the info with the hints and the logs just like i do on the palm. So i can access the info when im out of the reception area of the phone... From what i could understand it would also take the place of the GPS as well, Is that correct??? Im not very good with new phone. Hope None of you mind. Alex
  2. Just to let you know if you have a newer pc the palm might not work with it. I got the tungsten E and cant use it on my new laptop. Some said that you can down load the caches to the memory disk. But as im not as good with computers i could never do it and find that my Palm is usless.. Sucks as it was the best with my GPS...
  3. Thanks Crude. Im going to hit the sprint store sometimes next week i think. One of the reason im thinking of going to a fancy phone is that i use lots of mins for work and have to go up to 1500+ min a month. The text and the everything else is already included if i use it or not. So might as well use it lol.. Thanks everyone for your help. After i get the phone i would be back on here asking for help to get the programs working... lol.. One thing at a time for now... Technolgy if you dont keep up with it you get left behind in no time. Alex
  4. Hey Crude I been thinking of staying with sprint. It seems that most people on here like the HTC Hero. I started to look on line at the phone. Im realy way out of the loop on phone everyone is laughing at me that all i use the phone for is to talk lol. But this time i want to catch up with the times and get a fancy phone. I just want to make sure the one i get would also work for geocaching. Or im getting a basic phone again. Alex
  5. I know its off topic now but dont you end up paying more for the phone and service with out the contract... Yep im way behind on phones and wireless. Alex
  6. my contract ends next month so i got to pick up a phone before then. I use the phone for work as well. How much those applications for the phone cost???Do you get the describtion and the hints with the last logs??? My palm E was awsome and wish i could still use it. Alex
  7. Sorry im late to get back on here but lost my internet connection at home. Got to log on at work now. Im going to check the hero at sprint. It seems that with the new PCs out there. We have less of a choice for paperless. Got to find me a very old lap top for my palm. Alex
  8. Well its that time when i need to sign a new contract for my wireless.. Till now i had the basic phone not even texting. I wonder if i get a phone with net and email can i sign in on geocahing to read hints and logs??? I use the 60cx but my palm wont work with my new 64bit laptop. Till now i had to go to my parents to use there PC and down load the caches on my palm. I might be going with sprint and would like to know if there is a particular phone i should be looking at?? I realy dont know much about all the fancy phones out there. But more then willing to learn, just want to make a good choice on the phone.. If anyone can give me more info i would highly appricate it. Alex
  9. Its not the 12 but i still got my magelan 315 in as new condition. Still works and very accurate if you stop for a min or two to let it avg the position... Alex
  10. Well i got my Nuvi last night... Guess what its nuvi 270. The only diffrence is that i got more maps on it. Very easy to use. But same time its as basic as they come.. I think my 60cx can do more except talk. Does anyone knows how to remove found addresses??? Im still playing with it.. For the price its a great unit. If i had to pay for it I would pay alittle more and get one even better... Now im also going to try it for paperless geocaching.. Alex
  11. You realy cant go wrong with any of the newer units. Just figure out what you want it to do for you and one in your price range. You would do fine no problems. I do have a 60cx and i love it . Alex
  12. I got the Tungsten E and i cant use it with Vista 64... So make sure your Palm and Vista do work togher.. Unless someone figured out a way to make them work.. Alex

  20. Hi guys i been trying to down load the Caches to my palm using the card reader. I read that a few of you are doing it this way... Can someone walk me step by step on the proces??? Do i need to down load another program???? Alex
  21. Sputnik 57, Thanks for the thread. It does make it sound as they would be good to use. I can get them for about $4 more then regular batteries. I been using only NIMH's 2300 in the GPS and they seemed to last an easy 15-18 hours.. They are atlist 3 year old battries.. With more cycles then i can count.. Everything seems to point that the Lithium is the way to go for backpacking trips.
  22. I too have that problem i got a vista 64. Cant down load to the palm and cant figure out how to down load on the SD card and then read the hints.. If anyone figures it out it would be great as many people are buying the new PCs. Alex
