  1. That deadmans finger is weird ! Since you know about that, maybe you can identify something else. I used to work at a golf course. One day, we were working in a large ornamental display located under 3 very large pine trees. The constant shade meant there were always mushrooms growing there, but one day there was a plant that looked EXACTLY like a pile of entrails, like a rabbit or woodchuck had been eviscerated there. The effect was so realistic, flies had gathered to it as well - I assume this is part of the organisms method of spreading spore ? Anyways, thats the only time I've ever seen it. No one can tell me about it, and I've never been able to find a pic in books or on the web.
  2. Geez, for something that is supposed to be fun, seems a lot of people get worked up over how others derive pleasure from this "game". I've got a few coins, "bought and paid or got in trade". I've found ONE coin in a cache for moving along, and seen listings for two others. needless to say, not many icons on my page. Personally, I look at the icons as being pretty neat artwork. Our local group has "traded" icons for missions completed. My own trade was a caching-related, homemade pic had to be uploaded. It has led to some very interesting drawings so far, AND some good natured ribbing among members. I don't feel at all guilty about giving or getting the icon. I won't take a randomly dropped number for the icon though. Whats the difference ? Beats the heck outta me- I just dont want to. Don't care how someone else gets theirs though. It doesn't deprive me of anything at all. Play how you want to. Who gives a crap what the next guy is doing ?
  3. Just saw the pic of finished product - those are sweet ! Can't wait to get some.
  4. THNK YOU !!! Someone has volunteered to put together an app that will allow me to accept orders for nuts by the folks that ordered screws first. We will allow a few days for those people to try and match their sets. I will start a new thread so you don't go NUTS worrying about missing anything.
  5. LOL. Earlier this week I finished The Da Vinci Code , and now I'm sitting here watching "National Treasure" and came across this thread. Cool, now I'm gonna have to figure out what the dead badger / moon worshippers are trying to tell me !
  6. Yeah, I keep meanin' to hide; "A Tribute to Colonel Angus" (linky, linky) LMAO I thought Rooster Lollipop was the pinnacle. THAT is too much ! Took me a few lines to get it, but now I'm still wiping away tears.
  7. Posted on: Apr 14 2002, 03:21 AM Forum: The Hunt / The Unusual this was years ago, backpacking minister creek trail ( no pun intended ) in PA. buddies and i were camped out on the high ground, and kept hearing all this noise from the direction of the "established" camp ground near the spring. even tho it was 1.00 am, we went to investigate. besides, we were thirsty. we got near the spring, creeping as silently as we could. the valley was dotted by numerous campfires, and i dont think many pagan rituals were noisier than the commotion there. we were debating what to do, when lights started coming on all around us on this hillside. we ran as fast as we could. next day, the church retreat people came out, approximately 100 strong.we talked to a "counsellor" and asked what the heck they were doing. he simply said, just about anything. My 4th post amused me more - From the topic, "I'm beginning to think Garmin sucks ! Thank you all for the amusement. I finished reading this entire subject. I started reading with the thoughts of helping, but saw it has been resolved. The amusing jibes back and forth are so reminiscent of those childhood battles in the back seat during a long trip. ( dad, shes looking at me funny, make her stop ! ) I would like to pretend I've grown up enough to be past all that, but since I'm stuck inside on a beautiful day, I'll join in the shenanigans. first off, never had a Garmin, but I love my freedom-toast, freedom fries, and, sacre-bleu mon ami, I love my Magellan. So, I shall venture a totally biased, unsubstantiated, unexplored, uninformed opinion comment that garmin MUST suck. If Garmin wishes to send me a complimentary unit so I may review its functioning, and thereby re-tract my statement ( eat my words ) and instead write a glowing review, please contact me through this column. Also I think since some Canucks are FRENCH speaking, we should boycott all Canadian bacon, known as ham to the rest of the world, and immediately erect an inefficient border system which can be crossed by large amounts of illegal immigrants daily. Happy caching to all.
  8. Darn, I was gonna tell you that your coin is broke, and you should send it to me for "disposal". Everybody else had to go and ruin though.
  9. Love it ! The little guy is cool - any chance he will be the tracking icon ? Need 3 to match our screw geocoins !
  10. I don't have a wooden nickel. We make polymer clay coins. CHAOSS coins from Fisurs site
  11. WHERE in the wide world of the internet are the coins at ? I kniow they are out there, but can't find a link. Silly me, I thought maybe I could find it from Geocaching .com.
  12. SWEET !! I didn't know that was available. Much better than trying to scroll back and forth across the page at the full size site. Thanks for the link.
  13. That is a great coin - humorous, unique, AND educational ! I can't WAIT to call someone a "Dendrophobic" now. The icon is really cool too ! I love seeing all these creative designs coming out. If the household budget allows it, I definitely want one of these when they hit the market.
  14. Give the ink a couple days to dry before you glaze them. The clay will draw the ink into its surface somewhat. Be liberal with the glaze, allowing it to more or less flow off the brush on its own and disperse, rather than trying to brush it around. The process ends up taking a few days or more between steps, but looks good when finished
  15. I use Sharpies on Sculpey, but the fuller size pens for a more even texture. Coat after with Sculpey glaze - it gives a more vivid color.
  16. Some states/areas have orgs for recording and mapping the memorials. Many smaller cemetaries are deteriorating, and the history is being lost. If I can find the link, I'll post again. Look up mapping of cemetaries on Google.
  17. WOW !!! I've never been a huge fan of the "Signal" character for my T-shirts, but that is one AWESOME coin ! Can't wait for these to be available.
  18. I like the idea of a border on it as well, and maybe radius'd corners ? I like the triangle shape, but think the radius would still give it a "coin feel".
  19. Are there some available yet for purchase ?
  20. What an awesome and unique idea !! I definitely want some, but wether 2 or 3 depends on cost. Any idea yet how much $$$ ? Thanks for the cool coin !
  21. I actually thought you purposely made it backwards...AND I liked it that way !!
  22. Interested in trading for one of these please, if someone has an extra. I have an unactivated "scew" coin available. Please contact me. Thanks.
  23. A pelican super sabrelite, and an LED headlamp with optional white or red LED.
