  1. Thanks for sending this link as I had not read this prior to now. Figured there had to be a legit reason in the minds of Groundspeak. Thanks to all for your feedback!!! GeoBeav You read this, correct? Geocaching Announcements Username Lockdown
  2. You must have been reading my mind, as I have been sitting here wondering how to use GSAK and CacheMate "after" the find! I knew there had to be a way to post the finds and the logs in the same great way to load them. Will check this out and will send another SOS message if I expereience a DNF!!
  3. It seems that in chatting with other local cachers, I am not the only one who's not exactly happy about no longer being able to change our username without having to create a totally new account and re-logging every find! We have autonomy over almost every other aspect of our account/profile, but can do nothing practical about our username. Life happens and sometimes changes are needed to reflect those changes. That's just my opinion, and that and 50 cents will get you a cup with no coffee at Starbucks! GeoBeav
  4. Larry, The Jester, and Coach88, Went on my first all paperless cache yesterday and went 21 for 21 with no DNF's!!! My PB to date! I still carried a print out of the cache locations so I had a general idea of their location to each other. Just wanted to say "THANKS" once again for all of your prompt and friendly assistance! Best Regards, Mark (GeoBeav)
  5. Coach88, Thanks! If it works in the field as well as it looks at home, I'll be paperless from now on! It's all about the journey and the friends you make along the way! Hooah!, GeoBeav
  6. Dear Larry & Jester, You guys ROCK!!! THANK YOU!!! The Cachemate problem is solved. I just need more practice with PQ's, GSAK, and cachemate! Heading out in the morning on my first "all paperless" hunt! Thanks again and Happy Labor Day!! Hooah!, Mark (GeoBeav) I recommend GSAK. You can load PQs then sort/filter to just the ones you want, then export those to CacheMate. Actually, both methods will work. Which you select will likely depend on what you choose in the "Extra info" drop-down box. I prefer to always display Waypoint; I'm betting The Jester prefers Difficulty/Terrain. If you follow The Jester's approach, you will indeed get lists sorted by name and by waypoint, depending on the choice you make in the lower right-hand corner. Using The Jester's method, with Terrain/Difficulty selected from the "Extra Info" drop-down list, you get: Sorted by name: Name followed by Terrain/Difficulty in parentheses Sorted by waypoint: Waypoint followed by Terrain/Difficulty in parentheses If you use the method I suggested, and select Waypoint from the "Extra Info" drop-down list, you get: Sorted by name: Name followed by waypoint in parentheses Sorted by waypoint: Waypoint in parentheses followed by name I need the name and waypoint ID more than I need the Difficulty/Terrain rating to be displayed. Both methods will work, it's a matter of preference and what you want to see in the list. BTW, I also use GSAK to maintain my cache listings and transfer them to the GPSr. Wouldn't do it any other way! --Larry
  7. I read (saved to my favorites) Clan_Barron's article regarding using cachemate and GSAK for paperless caching. While it's still all a tad overwhelming I was able to load and convert caches to my Tungsten E. I had to do them all one at a time as a pocket querie didn't list all the caches I wanted ... any suggestions on that one? My main question/problem is this ... Whether I'm using title or waypoint, only the titles are listed. They get rearranged but it never lists them by waypoint. According to the article, I should be able to see both. Am I perhaps missing a step on cachemate or GSAK? This is not a major problem, but it would be nice to have both options. Any help on this one would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!! Hooah!, GeoBeav
  8. Lil Devil, If you come across this post, please know that I am new to geocaching and was just concerned about not receiving the password. To be honest, I'm still not sure how GPX Spinner even works but your website will provide all the answers. My sincere apologies if my post offended you in any way!!!!!!!!! Best Regards & Happy New Year!! GeoBeav & Kilikina
  9. Fizzymagic & Webscouter ... THANK YOU for the fast replies!! Everything seemed like it was 100% above board so that's why I was so confused (more than normal)! Best Regards, GeoBeav
  10. I was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience with GPXSpinner? Per the instructions on the website, I paid the $13-something dollars via PayPal for a password to be e-mailed after payment was confirmed. This was 8 December! It's now 31 December and two (very polite thus far) e-mails later, still no password or a response of any kind. Is this guy legit or has my "newbie" status led me to be scammed?! I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt but my patience is growing thin. It's not the money but the principle! Looking to my fellow geo-buddies for advice, comments, smacks up side my head, etc! HAPPY NEW YEAR & HOOAH! GeoBeav
