  1. apparently i've done this three times...so enable the f count column ....hrmmmmm....HELP!!!
  2. yeah i tried doing a my finds search...then list all of them in order to see if some were doubled up. i"ll check again thanks!
  3. i'm having this issue too. and i don't know how to fix it. i've scrolled through my finds but can't seem to see my duplicates. i want them gone!!! help
  4. The confederation trail in PEI is in a word ....AWESOME. It's definity a power trail, but motorized vehicles are not allowed in the trail at all. Every cache requires you dismount and poke around for the hide. It's only gonna get bigger this summer too as we are placing another series of caches along one of the spur lines. If you choose to come up and bike the trail, there is a trackable geocoin that you receive as well i believe.
  5. This has been driving us crazy as well... We have 692 finds to date, and our profile says 692 (689 distinct caches). We are very careful when logging and as a perfectionist, this kinda drives me crazy... I went through our list, and did not find any duplicates, but DID find three archived caches... Maybe since they technically no longer exist, they don't count as "distinct caches"? I dunno. Thoughts? I wish there was some way to correct this!
  6. i'm trying to figure out how the ones with all trads are done though....i'd be hard pressed to find spots to hide that many. With mysteries, you'd place the cache first...then the icon....but that's not possible with pics made from trads. that "texas" one threw me until i changed maps. Mapquest showed them as underwater!! Turns out is was a swampy area.
  7. woah that jet is incredible!!! The bulk of it is all made up of trads and multi's too! so nice the use of different icons to draw the geoart! AneMae....nevermind...i found the london loop...do you know off hand how many caches are in that trail though? it's looks decent in size...good way to get the numbers up
  8. those are cool!! keep em coming and include GC numbers or pictures if you can! AneMae, where is that trail located?
  9. hey everybody...just wondering what patterns of caches there are in your areas? We've all seen the Alien head series and UFO patterns in Nevada, and way up here in my next of the woods are the Jim52 puzzles and the K57 patterns as well as this really cool Dog head series. (go to gc39g04 and zoom out) lets see what other cachers have come up with. i've heard there's a peace symbol somewhere. what else is there?
  10. Oh sweet! Works like a charm! Thank you so much
  11. ok...so i finally downloaded GSAK...very cool!!! but now i need some help running it. I have no problem opening pocket queries. okk...but i'm now back to my original question above....how do i download all my corrected caches' gpx files at once? a user above says he runs a query based on a bookmark list?? what? how? the only way i can manage to get a bunch of puzzles to show up is by downloading their corrected gpx files one by friggin one. EDIT: ok i did just that....one by one as i corrected them....now this poses a new problem...it seems that i can't open more than one gpx file at a time, the way i was able when i loaded a zipped query. how do i select more than one file to open? i figured i could just ctrl+click them, but that didn't work...so low and behold i had to load them into my puzzle cache database one by one again. ps - the map macro enabled me to plot all my unfound (but solved) puzzles reaaaaallly nicely on a map, which is amazing. i just need a way to open those darn files in GSAK quicker than one at a time
  12. hey guys, i know how to run queries for most cache types (by either including or excluding the stuff i wanna go after) but i'm having difficulty with puzzles that i have solved but not gone after physically yet. typically if i'm going somewhere i'm either run a query and send the info to my sat nav to view and plan my attack, then send send to my handheld and have at it. OR run an advanced search of some type on my iphone and save those caches to their own list...again plan the attack and away i go. however, around some parts of the world you'll find whole series of puzzles (i'm in eastern canada...have a look at the puzzles in this series on the map using GC32T49 as a guideline) sooo....assuming i solve a bunch of these and deduce their corrected coordinates....now what do i do???? I suppose i could enter them all separately by hand. but that gets a bit tedious when the series has more than a handful of caches in it. Is there a way to send "solved" but not yet found puzzles to my gpsr, sat nav, or phone? i don't know how to run a query that would actually show the corrected coords. i notice that on each puzzle cache page i can adjust the coords...but the file that gets downloaded...does it show the original coords? or the adjusted ones?? i guess what i'm asking is really about getting organized. Once you've solved a series of puzzles..what do you guys do? I've never tackled finding more than one puzzle at a time, but i really want to. What's the most efficient way? thanks for any help you can provide
  13. The official geocaching app allows you to save all geocache info including maps. Definitely your best bet.
  14. oh cool, i'll check those out too and see what works best for us. lemme me know what you like. we did pay 2 bucks for this one and it looks pretty neat. feel free to pm me.
  15. nevermind....found an app called iplunder, that allows me to save gpx files to the ipod touch....now to test it out
  16. i understand how to run PQ's online and have them sent to my email....and i can then send them to my gpsr. i also understand how to use the app search function...and save caches for offline use. but what i"m wondering is, ...is it possible to run a query for "along a route" on my pc and somehow save or export that to my phone or ipod touch?
  17. What's that place that has had a coal seam burning under it since the sixties? Pardon my poor geography skills, but is it Centralia? I bet that place would be terrifying to cache in. Old abandoned town with steam coming up through cracks in the earth. *shudders at the thought*
  18. Cubby and BigBear chiming in! We are a couple from the east coast of Canada. of the "L" variety despite our "bear" handles. Though when asked, we typically say we are "Q"
  19. only started last month, but got hooked FAST. i like to try for at least one find a day.
  20. yep....some in the nearby area are GC2GNVW trinity's treasure GC2TZX4 easter surprise GC2G0Y4 Confederation landing GC2QRXD down at dead man's pond GC312KT bombs away!! that should get you started. Enjoy the island! edited for spelling
  21. I recently learned about these products that allow your iPod Touch to work as a GPS... namely the Magellan and Tomtom iPod Touch Car Kits. Basically, they are car mounts that you plug your Touch into, and your Touch can then determine your location through the GPS receiver. Apparently they work with a variety of location-based apps, so I'm thinking if I bought one of these, I could effectively turn my iPod into a road-type GPS AND a hand-held. So my question is, do any of you fellow geocachers own one of these products? Do they effectively work with the Geocaching app? And are they easy to remove from the car to search for caches on foot? Which brand should I go with? Oh, and I own an iPod Touch 4G, if that matters. Any and all info you guys have would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance, guys.
  22. hrmm....i tried that and missed a new cache listing. will try again. thanks EDIT: who does the SMS msg com from?? is it "noreply@geocaching.com"....could i theoretically set a ringtone for that contact?
  23. to have notifications sent to any email other than my primary? I"d like to have new cache notifications sent to my phone, but regular Groundspeak emails sent to my regular gmail account. I'm hoping i can set two different email adresses.... thanks
