  1. I have a question about having some caches published and was hoping for some help. I have created a GeoArt, and it contains 36 caches. But I was only wanting to submit maybe 2 or 3 a day to be published. The question is, if I create the cache page for each of the caches, but don't submit it to be published yet, will it show up for the reviewers as having a cache placed nearby if someone else tries to put a cache near where I'm planning on putting a future cache. I have scouted out all of my locations already, and taken coordinates for them all and am concerned once I draw people to this particular area that they may try to place caches there as it's pretty void of any caches.
  2. The problem with Trimble is theres a monthly fee associated with it. I would pay for an app, but not a monthly fee. I don't have time to cache every month, in April I found almost 150 caches, in May, hardly any.
  3. If you use GSAK they show up as their respective icons.
  4. I typically log my DNF's only because the GPS has them in the field notes when I upload it to gc.com. Since it's there, I figure why not log them. Most of the time though, if I search for a cache the first time and DNF it, I will log it and bookmark it, if I see people finding it, I will go back again and look a 2nd or 3rd time, have one cache I went to 5 times before finding it, but only logged one DNF since others were finding it.
  5. Where did you see this? I just read the other thread on another board and saw nothin from Tom.. Tom's Blog. Thanks, forgot about his blog.
  6. GC.com is not trying to block access. They did a site upgrade, and programs like GCzII then require a modification. GCzII's author is hopeing to to this work this weekend, so we will see. For now, I am using GateCacher. Works reasonable well. Where did you see this? I just read the other thread on another board and saw nothin from Tom..
  7. Once again, no love for us WinMo users...
  8. There have been multiple attempts to contact the author with no luck yet.. we're still hopeful though.
  9. Have to agree with Northernpenguin, I am skeptical but definitely optimistic.
  10. The easiest way to keep up to date on GCz is to download AppToDate from http://www.apptodate.org/get from your phone.
  11. So is there a status to the talks with Tom? Or is the subject gonna die because it's working again...
  12. I am having all of the issues pointed out in the original post, and am also running an intel mb.. I find that very interesting... What do you tell delorme when you call them for them to replace the cable, if that is even my issue...
  13. So i'm not quite sure what the deal is... however, I believe now that I have not bad, but not working with my pn-40 USB ports. So I moved GSAK over to my laptop along with Topo 8, and I still cannot just click on Send Waypoints under GPS, however if I use the macro DeLormeGPSExport it works. So that's really weird.. So, I have my cache's on my gps now, just a pain to have to move them from my main computer to my laptop since I hardly use it, but it's a sacrifice i'll just have to make.
  14. I have been racking my brain for 2 days since I got my brand new PN-40 on how in the world to get the caches into it with GSAK. I am getting some really odd stuff going on, and the only thing I can think of is it's related to windows 7 somehow. I tried using the regular Send to GPS with GSAK and get this when I have debug mode turned on, otherwise I get nothing. It will just sit there forever and not move again. I tried using the DeLormeGPSExport macro, No luck there either. When I run it, I get a command box that shows where gpsbabel was run, but then it just hangs there. One time I ran it, and it sent ONE cache, which was the first in the list in GSAK, but I can't even get it to do that again. Any advice? Really flustered that I can't even take my new toy out yet because of this, and I really don't want to do it one at a time on GC.com Windows 7, GSAK 7.6.2.45.
  15. I use a touch pro 2 on sprint, and a touch pro before that. Your not the first person I've seen say they can metion the programs name, why is that? I've been using it (if were talkin the same one which I think we are) since very early versions and love it.
  16. I use GCzII on my windows mobile phone. It works great and is updated often. The easiest way to update is using a program called AppToDate
  17. What is the proper way to log a second visit to a cache? I picked up some TB's from another cache across town to move to one that I had been at earlier in the week, when I logged it as found it, it increased my cache count, well I didn't think that was the right way to do it, so i deleted the note and just put it as a note with dropping the TB's attached. Is doing it as a note the 'acceptable' way or just log it as another find?
