  1. Great news, everyone! The coin idea has been adopted by Coins and Pins! Aaron is working to refine the rough draft I submitted. Rasj, the glow-in-the-dark screen was what I was thinking, too. I will keep you posted on the progress . . .
  2. Thanks, Bhob. I submitted the design idea to them for consideration, too.
  3. Thanks, Yemon, for the previous post. I have contacted several coin producers with the rough draft idea. We'll see if there's any interest on their part. If I had the money I would do it myself, but with four kids -- and three of them are teenagers . . . .
  4. Got my two coins yesterday. They went right to the top 3 of my list of most favorite coins in my collection. Very nicely done!
  5. Alrighty, my 6 coins have been spoken for. Thanks everyone! Enjoy.
  6. I still have the following spawner coin to give to the next Gxer to email me: 1) Tools of the Trade - claimed by fox-and-the-hound Thanks!
  7. Very cool....I beleive you are the 98th member of our group now....I have not seen your request to join though, did Damenace approve you? I have seen no request for this name. 6 Feet More, are you using the same screen name for the Yahoo Group? We just want to make sure that you get credit for your efforts. I see "6 Feet More" listed in the database , but no where to be found on the "members list" Ooops, sorry, guys! My member name in the Yahoo groups is "malibumace". Hope that clears things up.
  8. Okay, I'm in. It's time to give back to the community that was so generous with me. I am sending out my 3 travelers (GA Stone Mtn., Super Cacher, Midwest Geobash) to Clearwater Rob. I am offering the following 3 spawner coins to the first 3 Gxers to email me: 1) Tools of the Trade claimed by fox-and-the-hound 2) Caching with Kids - claimed by Windrose 3) Maine's First Cache - claimed by manchanegra (Portugal)
  9. Yeah, but if you can get a higher resolution PDA for the same money . . . I would do it. BTW, I use a M500 that I bought off "a popular online auction site" for $20 and it works fine.
  10. Wow, those turned out great! I am drooling and can't wait for the mail to be delivered next week! Awesome design, TSD. Thanks for the trades.
  11. Solo: 31 finds in the Clearwater, FL area Duo: 102 finds (3DNFs) in Lakeland, FL
  12. bump . . . I guess everyone is busy, or else this thread has run its course.
  13. VERY cool design. I've gotta have a shark in my collection since I live in FL! I can't wait to see it!
  14. This is the first time I've been to this thread. All I can say is, WOW! I am impressed with the creativity of the designers and their responsivness to give back to the community. If I may make a request and challenge your creativity levels, my two sons and I -- 6 Feet More -- would love to have a custom logo/avatar. Like many others, I have no software or enough creative brain cells to offer any suggestions. I am completely open to any ideas you might offer. Thanks!
  15. Anyone ever have this problem? I am trying to send out an adoption request to another cacher. I have adopted out a couple of dozen other coins successfully. However, when processing the coin in question, I get the coin code, verify the link points to the correct coin in my collection, add the adopting cachers name and send the request. But when the other cacher opens the email and clicks on the adoption link, it leads him to a "Swamp Thing" geocache and not the coin. We've tried this 3 or 4 times and get the same results. Anyone have any ideas about what I/we could do differently to get this adoption to be successful? Thanks....
  16. UPDATE: today the UPS man dropped a new eTrex Legend at my door. Exactly 1 week after the unit with the intermittent navigation stick left my home for repairs. Well, they didn't repair it --- they replaced it! WOW! I say again, I am a Garmin GPSr customer for life!
  17. I'll add my praise, too. I came home today to find a brand new eTrex Legend that Garmin sent to me. My previous unit was purchased 6 months ago from a popular online auction site. However, recently the navigation stick would only work intermittently. I called Garmin and told them of the problem. I told them I did not have an original purchase receipt. They said, No problem. I mailed it in on 8/8/06 and today, one week after I mailed it off, a brand new unit arrived at my doorstep. WOW! I'm hooked for life on Garmin; can't sing their praises enough! Great Customer Service.
  18. VERY pretty! Your V.2 design may replace the V.1 as one of the most favorite coins in my collection. Nicely done!
  19. I saw this post the other day and it caught my attention because my eTrex Legend started acting the same way -- the joystick button would not navigate/select on the screen pages. I bought my unit used off of a popular auction site back in November of 2005. It's been a great unit until just the past couple of weeks. I thought I'd give Garmin a call and see what happens. I called today and explained the malfunctioning navigation stick. The Garmin CR I spoke to, Dave, said, "We don't like to hear of the happening." He recommended I send it in for repair. I told him up front that I did not have the original receipt. He said, "No problem. I'm going to take care of that for you." I gave him the serial number of the unit and he gave me a RMA number and address to send it in. He said it would be a 7-10 day turnaround from the time I mailed it in (which was today!). Now that's what I call customer service. No questions asked -- let's just fix our defective product and keep our customer satisfied. WOW! Way to go, Garmin. I'm a customer for life!
  20. Count me in! Keep me posted. Thanks for the opportunity to give back and show our appreciation to our heroes!
