  1. Thanks for looking MrsB! I googled "geocaching in Fowlmead Country Park" and found a couple of blogs/review sites where people had been geocaching there and even linked here, so it is very confusing! They could well be their own ones. To be honest it puts me off a bit that I can't log them on here! That is very sad isn't it?! But it's still fun to do so if the weather is OK we might check it out.
  2. We are on holiday in Kent and drove past Fowlmead Country park this afternoon, and saw Geocaching advertised - so we stopped and picked up a leaflet and were told there were 20 caches in the park. So quite excited I logged in as soon as I got home to transfer the info/coords to my gps and head back tomorrow, but there appears to be only one - a puzzle cache, and one just outside. http://coord.info/map?ll=51.230533,1.382813&z=14 Are there any locals about who can enlighten me? Are they caches that aren't on geocaching.com?
  3. Thanks for the advice, there was an update available, do I have reinstalled it, and it has not crashed for the first time today! Downloaded C:Geo as a backup though, so better have a play...
  4. The issue has been a recurring one, not just today, and the phone has been turned off many times (it isn't the best phone to be fair). IT happens on any cache. Strangely a box comes up saying it has crashed and will shut down, but when you click OK the app hasn't shut down, just goes to a blank page. Odd. Someone has recommended C:Geo, and that is free so I might download that so I have a backup while I'm away, and try uninstalling and reinstalling. If I can figure out this annoying phone and work out how!
  5. I'm a bit slow when it comes to phones, this is my first android, I haven't unistalled as I was worried I'd have to buy it again! I take it that's not the case? I'm also new to geocaching so I didn't realise there was a special forum, sorry! Will try and find it once baby-web has gone to sleep.
  6. I've been using the official Groundspeak Android app in conjunction with my GPS but my last vew trips have been tricky since I can no longer use the app! It crashes every time I try and load the info for a cache. It is driving me mad! I am about to go on holiday for a week so will be without PC access, so will be relying on my phone to get info about caches and find ones close to my location, so I REALLY need a fix. Is anyone else having similar problems? I'm a bit cross as it was £6 and as worked for only 3 weeks! If there is no solution to the problem what other unofficial apps to people use, and would you recommend them? Thank you.
  7. My 60+ year old Mum is usually ahead of me when climbing into bushes or walking into a sea of brambles is concerned! Not sure she'd climb a tree mind you...
  8. Hello, I've only been 'caching for a month now, but its addictive isn't it?! I was wondering about the posting of photos of caching. I'm trying to take a photo of some kind of every cache I find, but sometimes I wonder if they give too much away? If say they show the cache, so people know what to look for, or if they are a bit too close to the location. Is it cacher's own responsibility not to look at photos uploaded to logs if they don't want spoilers or should I as the poster take this into account. Any advice/tips?
