The first page says N 39° 54.149 W 075° 21.630 The if you download the file itr says <wpt lat="39.902483333" lon="-75.360500000"> This is the cache I'm lookin at, what numbers do I put in? http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...86-3e5bc4fe2bab Thanx
  2. btw, I don't have the cord to connect to my PC yet, just got the unit used.
  3. Do I just enter the coordinates of the cache and the coordinates of the parking lot, then use the map screen with "trail up" and walk towards the coordinates, using go to? Is the correct coordinates for a Meridian platinum DEG/MIN.MM thanx
  4. I figure I should mark a point and call it Parking, then set up a Goto route and just try to walk so that I'm getting closer, rather than further. Am I on the right track? Thanx
  5. Hi guys, just got my GPS, ended up with a Meridian platinum on a good deal. Now I've never done this before, and never used a GPS. So what I'm asking is what screens and options are best used with this machine for a newbie to find a cache. I'm thinking "track Up" on the map screen is the way to go, I walked around a little and the other options didn't seem intuitive to me. I entered the co-ordinates for this http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...y&log=&numlogs= cache by hand, and I can actually see it on my map Any advise on what to do next? What screens and options? Anything else I shopuld know? Do I just walk so that I am ppointing towards the cache in "Track Up" on map??? I need Help! Thanx

    Compasses?

Are there any good on line tutorials on how to use a compass, with basic information and not overly complicated? Thanx
  7. Thanx, I apreciate the input. I have to check out the Lowrance, I've been looking mostly at the Garmins so far, but I'm open to Lowrance and Magellan also. As for the GPS V, would you say it is better than the VistaC or the Maps 60 (non c)?
  8. If you had a max of $250, which GPS would you buy? Uses --> geocaching, hikeing and not getting lost in big woods, driving (least imp) and maybe marking some fishing spots.
  9. Hi, I'm new to all of this, and will be buying a GPS within the next week or so. I want to use it for geocaching, hunting, fishin and maybe some in car use. At first I was thinking the Legend was the way to go, then as I looked more the VistaC seemed worth the extra $$, I can not spend the cash on a 60cs, but it seems the Maps 60 has most of the features of the 60cs and everyone seems to LOVE the 60cs, but nobody is talking about the maps 60 (non cs). Both the VistaC and the Maps 60 are about the same price, which one is better? Why? Thanx ps, any other, better ideas under $250?
