  1. I am very confused. I downloaded hundreds of Geocaches to my GPS -- some individually, & some by pocket query. No matter which way I entered them, some are showing all the info (Description, Hint, Logs, etc), but most are virtually only giving me the Name & Code! Please tell me how to get the full information for each cache to show up on my Montana! Right now, it isn't giving me any more details than my old GPSMAP 76CSx. HELP!
  2. Found a weird solution on another similar post. Do NOT open IE from your taskbar. Instead, open it from the icon on your desktop. If you don't have that, hover over the little Microsoft start icon at the bottom left of your task bar that will then show Start. Click to open that, then, click All Programs, & open IE from there. For some crazy reason, Geocaching.com should now recognize your GPS.
  3. Well, amazingly, I just found a fix (although a crazy one) from a solution posted on a similar forum post. WOW!!!! Here's what worked (but don't ask me why: I opened IE from the Search button on my computer task bar instead of my shortcut icon on the task bar, and BOOM! Geocaching.com found my new Garmin!!! Whew. People should NOT be having this issue! Gotta be a fix somehow!! Whatever... Happy now!!!
  4. WOW!!!! Triple wow!!! Thanks so much!! Can't believe it, but I decided to open IE from the Search button on my computer task bar, and BOOM! Geocaching.com found my new Garmin that I was having the exact same problem with!!! Had the same issue several months ago with my old Garmin, & can't remember how I eventually got that one to work. People should NOT be having this issue!Whatever... Happy now!!!
  5. Don't understand the issues with Geocaching not recognizing my Garmin devices. When I just connected my new Montana, it says I need the plug-in. However, after I follow the link to the Garmin site, it says I already have the latest plug-in: Version 4.2.0.0. And, that is definitely true, since I just downloaded that after I encountered this very same issue a few months ago when I connected my older Garmin to download caches after an absence of several months. But that time, when I tried again a few weeks later, it connected with no problem. Very frustrating!!! I want to go Geocaching!!!
  6. I have been using both, as that's the only way I can both navigate & log finds. Just disappointed that I have to deal with both just because my phone can't just handle even urban caches. The phone was set for all location services to be on for highest accuracy, but I will try turning off all except GPS while caching. But if turning off mobile network causes me to not be able to log caches w/o toggling that feature on/off for each cache, that's not gonna help either. Just wish the darn thing would work better. It was the most expensive Motorola phone on the market, so should be the best. Darn it.
  7. Yes, I leave the GPS on almost all the time anyway, & the app has full permissions. Thanks.
  8. Before obtaining my smartphone last December, I did all my Geocaching with my Garmin 76CSx. The accuracy of that device is amazing, but I wanted to be able to get "live" info from the web while hunting. However, my phone is HORRIBLE for Geocaching. Accuracy is so far off, I would never find a cache w/o explicit hints. Does anybody know anything I can do to improve caching on this device? I have it set for High accuracy mode, which uses GPS, Wi-Fi, & mobile networks. Sure would LOVE to be able to get a real GPS device that would connect live to Geocaching on the web...
