Its says Mapsource CitySelect all over the page but for us geocachers Topo would be more useful or some other vendor mapping software. Any clue on compatablity and if Topo will be compatable?

Cool that's a start. But in my minds eye there are stacks and racks of overpriced servers and routers, CAT5 cable running to and fro, white boards filled with new and inventive ideas, overflowing wastebaskets filled with cappuccino and espresso cups, Garmin and Magellan reps showing the boys(and girls) the latest code that imbeds geocaching wants and wishes..... okay, okay I'll go to sleep now.

Anyone now of some software that will read NIMA CDRG CD data discs?

Hey Jeremy I bet I'm not alone being curiuos about the Geocaching Central Office. How about posting some pics of the office spread and some description of the computers/servers that seem to run my (our) free time? There are enough techno geeks here that I'm sure it would be popular or at least we'd get to see some of our money in action.

The Jumpmaster feature just plain rocks. I don't know how many times I've been on the dropzone trying to do the math on a short string when I should be placing the panels or going up to altitude on a HAHO and find out that the winds are all **cked up by the weather guys. Now I can calculate on the fly and verify in the bird. Attached to a laptop with mapping program showing imagery I can get the spot down no problems when it changes. Just plain COOL. Garmin Rocks for the military!!!

Never mind I just read the disclaimer. Sure like the feature and will miss it until it comes back though.

Is it just me or is the map page not showing you found icons anymore? This is as of 0930 MST 04 Jan 02.

Thank you Cavess for starting this thread. I never realized we had such a problem. I too went to your web site forum and got an "eye opening" experience. I'm quite livid over some of the comments at the NSS site. Hopefully you will be successful in educating your members on our activities. I volunteer to do what I can to help you in any capacity. No one wants this to get any uglier than it already is. This sport is still in its infancy and while not giving in to irrational demands from others we should all realize any unintentional results from our activities.

With respect to the hard work from our comrade from Sweeden and to Dan Miller, WE NEED A STATS PAGE!!! I fully understand that some could care less and view a stats page as pure ego stroking, but, guilty as charged.

Holy-Cow I'm about to bust here in Colorado. Many of the good cache areas are closed due to the fires and I could sure use the features of the new search engine. Any ball park figure on the date of introduction?

I did a couple of Benchmarks and while loading up some pics I noticed the script said something to the effect of the program will automatically size the pic instead of the usual 100K limit on the normal cache. Will this feature be migrated to the normal site? Is this a feature of being a paid member? Why the difference? JC Duc996
