  1. Some people that like geocoins will buy just about anything that is made. Most, like myself, buy those that specifically they like. This is an interesting coin so I think you should do well. I might question your top effect. Most coins, even in relief, are no higher that the outer edge. You could make the center section as a freewheeling spinner with a pointer to the cache type. I would buy this coin. Please keep me on your list.
  2. This is an excellent means of verification. Has a unique feature. Once you try a set of coordinates and they are wrong you must wait 10 min to check another set. Neat way to keep quess factor in line.
  3. I can not figure out why you would care what the original price a coin had a year ago. It is hard enough to keep track of the coins themselves. Are you trying to develop a "Blue Book" of values?
  4. Again it depends. If you can buy coins in prepurchase and there are very few minted you can get a bunch. Example buy for 7.50 sell for anything from 9.99 to $50. It will depend if anyone else wants it. Go watch the auction pages for a couple of weeks. If you can find a definitive answer then good luck.
  5. Like most everything.... it depends. You can get 250 coins with fairly generic features, with icon, tracking, etc for about $1200. If you get fancy with epoxy, cutouts, large size, etc, etc, it can run $4,000 and up. The best advice is to figure out what you want and get a couple of minters like The cachingplace, Coins and Pins, to give you a quote. Saves a lot of frustration.
  6. Ditto I have a hard time understanding people that trade pages of lists of their coins at an event. Why not just supply the list of caches you have found. Makes the same sense. I will discover a coin if it is very rare and no chance of seeing it in a chache, like a mt10bike coin, at an event. Other than that if I have an icon I moved the coin.
  7. Ditto. My main reason for Geocoins is collecting the ones I like and I activate 1. If I really like it then I might buy several, especially if I can get a good deal, and usually hold for sale or trade later. The problem now is that I have a box that weights about "10 tons" under my desk. Also I usually only log coin finds when I actually move the coin to another cache and very seldom use discover.
  8. I do not think it is Ground Speaks problem to do what the coin owner/builder is suppose to do. The requirements are quite plane. You must sent a 32X32 pixel AND a 16X16 pixel icons.
  9. There was a cache, that had been disabled, near where I lived that needed some serious maintenance for an extended period of time. I repaired the cache and emailed the owner. He still ignored. I emailed again and asked if he would archive I would replace the cache. He archived, I replaced. Total time from first notice of need of maintenance to new cache, two months. Results new cache that provided a FTF. Also if a cache or TB in a cache needs a new Ziploc then I replace. You know it falls in the category of a random act of kindness.

  11. Great idea..... actually an attribute for each would be great.
  12. The only person that can purchase an icon is the one that has the coin built. I do not understand the remainder of your comment. The coin icon has been purchased! I would think the whole point of paying for such a feature is so that people can grow their profile as they play. If an icon is going to be added that you haven't earned and only posted a note to it, then the people that have paid for the icon aren't gettig precisely what they have paid for, for example an icon that can only be given to those who have actually seen and obtained the tracking code. That is the way it works. The only way you can log the find, or write a note, for a coin is to have the tracking code that is on the coin, the same way it is with a TB. The difference come when people just log a coin or TB when they have seen it at an event, etc. I do mine different, as some others do also, in that I only log a coin or TB when I have actually had it in my possession and can move it to another cache.
  13. I just pulled up your trackables and all the icons showed up.
  14. I got my sets also. The colors are Gold, Silver, Bronze, Nickel, and Black Nickel. If you put them side by side you can tell the difference in the dark ones.
  15. Getting into this a little late but would like a set of these, all 4

  17. Working on a couple of plans to get them made. Due to the basic cost to produce this coin, which is significanitly higher than most coins, it does present a problem. However if these other plans work out these coins will be produced. Thanks for watching.
  18. PROBLEM SOLVED...... ALL THREE TYPES OF JEEPS ARE NOW SHOWING UP CHECK OUT On the Cusp of Discovery GCXHCE http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?state_id=44 The software guys have done a great job again.
  19. They are showing the Google Map feature is in BETA..... which usually means.... do not distrub

  21. I understand this is possibly being addressed but a suggestion. If there was an icon for multiple Jeeps such as a Blue Jeep this could solve the problem. This problem usually only shows up at events when all three Jeeps are logged in.
  22. It would probably be only a puzzle. You would need to negoitate with your approver beyond that. Good luck
  23. To take this further. How close is a chache that is not owned by you? My closest not owned is 417 meters and I did have a FTF at 6:30 AM
