  1. I just upgraded to the new firmware, I'll see how it goes from there.
  2. I have about 15 wooden nickels to trade They have a smiley face on one side and on the other side "This is Crosschk's Signature Item Have a nice day"
  3. thanx. I just could not see putting that on the windshield
  4. I got the Car Kit from garmin and it came with a disk that looks like it is supposed to stick to something. But what does it stick to? the window? the dash? Has anyone used this thing? I bought two kits and neither one had directions. It was pretty self explanatory, except for this thing. I thought about leaving it in a cache
  5. Did you try selecting them at the same time? I saw that too. It will over write the map if you do say NY first, then load Seattle after that. Try selecting them both at the same time
  6. I noticed that when I get .gpx files from GC.com and add them to my unit, they run fine, I can get directions and distance to cache with out issue. However, when I over write that file in the unit, I can not get those details. I can see them on the map, but it will not auto route, or when I get close, tell me how far I am from it in driving mode or Geocache mode. To fix/avoid this issue, I 1) hook the unit up to the PC 2) delete the existing GPX file 3) disconnect the unit 4) turn it on, let it boot up 5) reconnect 6) copy the new GPX file 7) disconnect Is there an easier way? This way is time consuming (not to bad but enough to be annoying).
  7. 1. No 2. No You can go to display settings, and set the back light to not turn off once turned on though. But you will have to turn your light on next time you start the gps. Thanx.
  8. 1) is there a way to set the default back light to be on? 2) Does it charge NiMH batteries when plugged into usb or car adapter?
  9. I would just pose the question on the forum for your part of the country and see if anyone would be interested. Its a start. There might even be one not to far away already I posted this before I read your post completly, sorry, I have not figured out how to delete yet
  10. Mine is typical of a newbie. I was in Texas in Summer. It was Hot, and I was sweating and looking down at my GPSr and didn't notice the barbed wire right in front of me. Sweaty blood dripping down from my brow line. I found the cache, but when I got back home I got made fun of big time(Caching wasnt the national past time it is today).
  11. I was thinking of putting a container of "Tip Jars" or "Pull tabs" in and hte one who got hte winning ticket would get a geocoin of some kind. I think this would be interesting because it would take 100 people to find it, take the card and email me
  12. I placed a cache yesterday and within 2h 45m I had a hit, now I figure it took about 15 minutes for the person to get back to thier house and log the cache. So, make it 2.5 hours What is the fastest hit you guys have had?
  13. With the weather starting to warm up, I'm looking to get out and hunt. Being new to the hagerstown area,( I live in Mercersburg) I would like to go to to a few parks in the area that would allow dogs and have some caches in them. Anyone know of any good ones? I also have a 18 month old so little to no weedwacking would be greaat as well.
  14. If only you could..... .....ask people along your route to share their pq's that they have for the area.
  15. Maybe have a propritary appplication that you type everything into. The app, then send the info to GC.com and Its taken from there and sorted and placed on the pages HAving it built into GSAK would be awsome just my 2¢

Got the magnets this evening and spent about 1/2 hour getting them to attach to the water proof match case I plan on using. Finally Duct tape worked good I got the 1/4 in by 1/10 in These suckers are very strong. I used 3 of them to hang the matchcase on my door and its not going anyplace. Thanks again for all the input Edited for spelling

    Magnets

I want to get some magnets for hiding the 1500 micros I have ready to roll out (j/K) (Maybe) Where are some places people get them from?
  21. I got mine Here. Thank You to Texas Geocaching
  22. I don’t know why, but I would like to see all of the caches in the 3 surrounding states. Maybe its goes back to being a kid and staring at maps. Just thinking of all the stuff out there made the mind wonder. I may never get to them all but having them listed out, may help me plan a weekend. Also having all info on my laptop is kinda cool when I travel. The more you have in the pq, the easier it will be to find the clusters of caches that would make a fun weekend trip. Anyway, I think allowing members to share .gpx files would be a great idea, if the problem is getting too many caches taxes the servers. If it is a reason of propriety, then I see the point, I don’t agree, but I see the point Just my 2¢
