  1. It may take some time for the release to make its way out to everyone. We'll update the post to reflect that.
  2. To refresh, here is the explanation provided when the challenge cache moratorium ended: "Time-limited challenges are not permitted. For example, “Find 500 caches in a month” or “Find 10 different icons in a day.” The aim here is at least two-fold. First, these challenges encouraged people to hurry to find caches in a short time period. That’s something a majority of survey respondents said they didn’t like about challenge caches. And it’s not something we wish to encourage. Second, we’ve seen a lot of people creating Events and/or CITOs only to add an icon to the area for “Busy Day” challenges. That’s not at all the spirit for which those activities are intended." Nothing has changed since the end of the moratorium that would cause us to reconsider that guideline.
  3. We've had to remove a few posts in this thread, due to violations of forum guidelines, specifically regarding forum courtesy and personal attacks. Please keep future posts on topic so we do not have to close the thread.
  4. There are no official GeoTours in Deleware right now. However, I did some Googling and came up with the Deleware Geocaching Trail. Their web page doesn't confirm whether coins are still available, so I'd suggest contacting them to ask. I may do the same. If they confirm there are coins available, then we can add them to the GeoTours and Reward Geotrails list.
  5. Honestly, you guys have put way more thought into the reasoning for using a reputation point system than we did. We simply saw it as an easy way for people to “like” or "+1" a post without having to post a reply. If you like the feature, use it. If you don’t like it, ignore it. If we find no one is using it, then we maybe we’ll turn it off.
  6. Just to follow up, we've fixed the password issues with the Dutch and GPS/API/Technology categories.
  7. You can go directly to the individual Dutch sub-forums by clicking on their links. We're trying to figure out why clicking on the Dutch category itself is resulting in the password page. (It's also happening when clicking on the GPS/API/Technology category.)
  8. Clicking the heart means you're upvoting a post. "Member's Total Reputation" is the total number of upvotes your posts have received. Thanks for the heads up about the link from Waymarking.com. I've got a message in now to the engineering team to get that link updated.
  9. I tested a signature line by changing it here in the forum profile account settings, and the changes took effect immediately. Will do some digging and try to figure out the Forum Title part.
  10. There are a bunch of notification settings in the back end that we'll try to adjust. I'd also suggest checking the Notifications Settings on your account to ensure they're dialed in to your preferences. It seems like there are a lot more options than in the previous software.
  11. I think we've fixed it now to where line breaks are single spaced.
  12. I expect people will notice an issue with forum avatars. The forum is pulling the avatar image from your Geocaching.com profile. On Geocaching.com, the image needs to be at least 68 pixels x 68 pixels, which is what a lot of people have uploaded to the website. But the forum software uses a profile image size of 150x150. What you'll need to do is go to your Geocaching.com profile and replace your Profile Photo with an image that's at least 150x150. The forum profile avatar will update accordingly.
  13. We’re very sorry for the delay in implementing the new forum software. When we took the forums down last Thursday, we believed we could get them back online by Friday afternoon. But a few processes took longer than expected, which delayed things through the weekend. We’ve still got a few known kinks to work out, but we at least wanted to get the forums back online so discussions can continue. Thanks for your patience!
  14. Just to be clear, release notes threads are for discussing features in the release. That's why we add the italicized "disclaimer" at the end of the OP. Bug reports unrelated to features in the release should go in the Website forum. Thanks!
  15. It's fixed now. The souvenir should appear on your profile. Anyone else who has a similar issue, here's a direct Help Center link to ask about souvenirs.
  16. You've emailed HQ about this multiple times, and I've personally responded to two of those emails. Provided the same guidance that Keystone gave above. You've not enabled the listing(s) for review.
  17. On Tuesday, June 13 at 4pm (Pacific Daylight Time), our Help Center will be offline for maintenance for approximately 2 hours. Convert to your local time here. Normal service will resume after the window.
  18. "I'm hearing..." and "It's my understanding..." My two least favorite information sources. No one at HQ has ever talked about webcams causing the same problems as moving caches. There's no sense in trying to create a story where one doesn't exist.
  19. The issues CathyH mentioned in her post regarding moving caches do not apply to webcams. Also, to be clear, moving caches were never a cache type.
  20. What is the connection you're perceiving between webcams and moving caches?
  21. On Wednesday, May 24 at 5pm (Pacific Daylight Time), our Help Center will be offline for approximately 2 hours. Convert to your local time here. Normal service will resume after the window.
  22. The link is not intended to go to the Contact Us page. We'll be fixing that.
  23. On Wednesday, May 10 at 1pm (Pacific Daylight Time), our Help Center will be offline for approximately 2.5 hours. Convert to your local time here. Normal service will resume after the window.
