  1. Hello, when Groundspeak introduced the display of solved mysts at corrected coordinates I was really satisfied. That was something I had been waiting for. That the displayed position returns to the non- corrected coordinates when cache is logged as found is completely OK since it keeps geoart e.g. the way it was intended. But I would like an option where I can say "show even logged mysts at corrected coordinates". It would simplify the placing of new caches since I then can see where enough space is available. In my home area there really is a lack of space. A lot of caches placed all over town and surrounding areas. Regards Hans/YXZA
  2. On the other hand, it might be an option if a CO could see his own unpublished caches in the app and validate the result because that how the users will see it. Groundspeak? Any one?
  3. might work, haven't tested it. seems a bit of overwork, there ought to be a better way
  4. Hello, I have an unpublished cache and I want to check that it looks OK on my cell phone. So I fire up Firefox e.g. and go to Dashboard/Unpublished Caches. When I click on the cachelink then the Groundspeak app is started and it starts searching for the actual GC code which of course is invalid. This is really annoying. In order to see the cache in the browser I have to deinstall the Groundspeak app and the cache is displayed OK and then I have to reinstall the app. Bit of a pain. Am I missing something? Is there anything I can do to get the cache displayed directly in the browser? Is there anything Groundspeak can do in the future? Thanks for any answers YXZA
  5. on iPhone a long tab on cache url in a mail - nothing happens. but that was not my original problem. it was - starting a browser, going to geocaching.com, entering a gc-code in the search field and then selecting the "lower" choice with the cache popping up doesn't take me to the cache in the browser but opens up the app. very irritating. about archived caches, that they don't appear in the app is one issue, but if it was opened in the browser i could see it. which could be of interest sometimes. it's my archived cache e.g. and i would like to write a note like "cache archived, the secret code is ###" so future pt loggers could find the finale cache.
  6. I start firefox or safari and enter geocaching.com homepage. in the search field I enter a gc code and select the "lowest" alternative of the two that pop up. then the app is opened automatically.
  7. If I start a browser on my mobile and search for a cache then it is displayed in the app. I can normally live with that, although I think it is a small pain in the ***. However if the cache is archived the app refuses to find it. Invalid code is the result. Why can't the caches be displayed in the browser? If I want a cache in the app I can search for it in the app.
  8. Hello, the display of solved mysts with corrected coordinates was of my main wishes. It finally popped up and is was a great achievement. When logged the mysts went back to their published place thus recreating any geoart e.g. But I would like to see another improvement - a button that shows all logged mysts at their corrected coordinates again. Great thing for finding "holes" where you may hide your own caches. Maybe their may be other uses as well but this is something from my point of view would further enhance the cachemap. Regards Hans/YXZA
  9. Yes, if you mean the "Focus on navigational line" or whatever it was called, one of the most used features in the old app. Groundspeak! Please listen.
  10. Hello, after wrestling with events connected to FAD 2017 in Sweden I'm a bit worn out. Cutting and pasting "will attend" logs, extracting info about participants, nicks, date of logging, number of persons that will attend I have a suggestion for improving the "will attend" process and the event owner's control over number of attendees. It could an option for the EO to select whether he wants to enable the feature. But if EO chooses to do so there will be a mandatory field that must be filled in by the "will attend" logger. Namely number of participants. Might be other interesting information as well, like attending screening number 1, 2 or 3 at a GIFF event e.g. The EO should then be able to via the web page for the event to say - I want to get a list of all who has logged "will attend", the number of attendees for that nick, nick, and mailaddress. It would make my life or any other EO's life easier. It would then be possible to easily create lists where you can tell who is allowed to enter a specific screening e.g. and who has to be put on the waiting list. Regards hans/aka yxza
  11. I agree with all posters that the option to create an empty list is a definitive must. don't understand why it disappeared however sometimes is seems like the right hand at Groundspeak doesn't know what the left hand is doing. a possible virtue as a drummer, but...
  12. Friend League as it may be... well could be a nuisance or turn into something better. My main concern now is - I qualified during the whole month - where are my final 4th map piece and the possible bonus? A lot of people in my community have received them, but my inbox is dreadfully empty. Do I have to embarke on a pirate vessel to Seattle to retreive them
  13. Hello, I wonder how to create a new list in the newly introduced List Management? What am I missing? Regards Hans/yxza
  14. yes, I would like a more flexible interface. As usual hide trads, mysts, webcam etc etc but also hide trads but keep my founds e.g., hide mysts with corrected coords (thanks Groundspeak for that novelty), hide only mysts with not corrected coords. The combinations are a few and the whole solution may be too complicated. Something in that direction would be nice. Hans
  15. Hello, when looking at the map and I want to hide certain types of caches. Like trads e.g. sometimes I want to keep my finds on the map. But as soon as I say e.g. hide trads my finds of trads disappear. Can't be hard to fix.
  16. Same thing here in Sweden now. But apparently not for all users.
  17. How are you submitting the logs? Through the website, GSAK, or some other way? Without knowing how you're logging, we can't provide much advice on where the problem may be. Edit for speeling Logging as always through the "Log a new visit" on the home page of the cache.
  18. this is beginning to be a nuisance. every second or third cache i log online from pc results in duplicate logs. so i have to get back in and delete one of the logs. anyone has any ideas why? Groundspeak? and stick to the subject please. logging of own caches e.g. plz start a new thread
  19. Hello, thanks for quick answer. No, I never (well...) log in the field, just from my desktop when I get home. I hate writing those long logs on the iPhone.
  20. Good evening (at least in Sweden) and Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to all of you. I have slightly irritating problem that popped up about 1 - 2 weeks ago. I all of a sudden noticed that my find count in GSAK did not match Geocaching.com's. After some investigations I found that the logs I had made online were duplicated. I'm certain I have not double clicked the send log button but despite that some, strangely not all, lately found caches have two identically logs entered by me. Any ideas someone? Regards Hans/YXZA
  21. Hello, I don't know if I'm posting in the correct forum. The reason I'm posting here is that I get the same error when trying to download any cartridge. Error During Upload System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. ---> Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.ReadResponse(SoapClientMessage message, WebResponse response, Stream responseStream, Boolean asyncCall) at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.Invoke(String methodName, Object[] parameters) at Wherigo.GSPCartridgeService.CartridgeService.GetCompiledCartridgeWithMetaData(GWZMetaData gwzMetaData, String CartridgeFileName, String CartridgeId, Int64 PlayerId, String PlayerName, DeviceType deviceType, String CompletionCode) at cartridge_download.btnDownload_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) Regards Hans/YXZA
  22. Hey, all. Made a wrong click. Dropped a TB at HQ by mistake. Should have been a "Visited". How do I get it back?
  23. I strongly second that. It's a pain having to go back to the event - Hmmm, what were the start/end times? AND correct timezone of course
  24. hello, same issue/issues for me from sweden. No pq:s, can't search for a cache, can't get the maps and other strange behaviours Regards yxza
  25. Hello, any one else experiences problems with geocaching.com? At least from Sweden it is incredibly slow and has been so all day. Regards YXZA
