  1. HMMMM.

I would say that the FTF on the 2nd log was the rude cacher.

Family caching is about keeping the kids amused so there is nothing amusing for your kids in doing a walk on which they would have been getting to find caches they have already done. Not sure what age the kids are but i can imagine what would have been said about them if they had run ahead of the group and were standing with the box in hand when everyone else got the GZ. :(:)

I cache with my Dad, sometimes mum will tag along. Mum and I got FTF on 2 caches late last summer, dad and i were passing a few weeks ago after getting some others and decided to stop and let dad get the 2 we had previously found. There is nothing more frustrating than standing about watching someone trying to find a cache when you can see it cos you know where it is.

If it were me i would not have wanted to do the long walk either.

They were live caches you did nothing wrong. You obviously don't live near a FTF hound though as if you did they would all have been found before you even got up that morning

It is a game and everyone plays it differently, i like to cache with other people but i can't imagine 20 of us looking for 1 cache is any fun!

    Happy Caching

  2. Firstly well done to myGeocoin.de for getting on to this and fixing so quickly, next time i have money for coins i will check out your site.

Further to my posts over the weekend i contacted a friend who works for an international company who deals with VAT refunds for international travellers, since she is in Ireland she gave me the e-mail for her counterpart in the german office (cos the Company that Avroair pm'd me was german).

    His reply was

Because of the current legal situation <HIS COMPANY> does not offer the possibility of a refund for online purchases. But the online shop can give the tax rate directly as an additional discount to the customer if the shop is the sender and on condition that all documents are issued on the customers non-EU-address. For further information please ask your retailer.

So my reading of what he has said and obvoiusly what Sepp and Berta have been told by their advisors is "non-EU address NO VAT"

With regards to getting the money back, it will be very difficult to get it back from the on-line shop as they will already submitted their tax returns. but maybe Sepp and Berta could advise how to reclaime the VAT via the german VAT office.

Good Luck, i am now going to check out if i have been paying sales tax on my purchases for the US oin shops...

  3. Hi Guys,

Not sure what country you are dealing in but i can give a view from the Irish Tax Office.

For a little history until 8 months ago i was working in Tourism in Dublin and had the pleasure of meeting many very nice American Tourists.

You are quite correct in stating that you are exempt from paying the tax however it is your responsibility to reclaim the tax and not the retailers...

Many of the larger high street retailers in the city's can take it off at source however if they don't you need to fill in a form and submit your reciepts at the airport when leaving.

My understanding is that this is the arrangement in all EU Countries.

Let me know what country the retailers in question are in and i will check with the local tax offices and see if i can get the forms for you.

Sorry to be the bearer of extra paperwork..

  4. I want some kitties...

Love the designs, all of them.

The kitties i would buy, the cache attributes are nice but are not what i like to collect personally but i am sure there are plenty out there who do collect them.

I've PM'd you with a couple of ideas that could make this happen...

    Well Done

  8. I would subscribe to this. Would need pricing tho especially since i have international shipping.

I also like the idea of a members only finish.

Artistically however, my stick men are bad so we will not go there.

I'll keep my eye on this.

So glad to hear you and tank are doing better.

    Thanks

    Laura
