Help!! I live in Sasebo Japan. I manage the Outdoor Recreation center at the US Navy base here. Last October I attended a class in geocaching at the NRPA convention in San Antonio, Texas and got the bug. So I bought four Garmin GPS's and started setting geocaches. On my last cache (Top of the World) I need to insert some Katakana (Japanese characters) in my description. It will make getting people into the area a whole lot easier. No problem I do this all the time when I email Japanese friends. So I put the characters together in a word document and cut and paste into the form. After submitting I click on "view listing" and the Katakana characters have been replaced by ??????. So I try going to the view menu and changing the encoding for Japanese characters. Still no dice. Does anyone have an answer?? I've omited the Katakana but anyone who wants to get in the area will need this.
