  1. I'm getting interested in this oziexplorer GPS mapping software, and I would appreciate hearing comments from anyone who uses it. What do you think of it?
  2. I just bought my etrex, but I see this as a potential problem waiting to happen. I find it hard to open that flap everytime I want to connect it to the computer, and I see that over time it will eventually rip. The way I see it, this is a design flaw.
  3. I can't seem to get the microcache document to come up. Is there anyone who could e-mail it to me? Garry
  4. The same sort of thing happened to a friend of mine's Palm Pilot. I think that the hardware is toast at that point, and that its' time to replace the unit. It should be under warranty, should it not?

  6. OK you folks have convinced me that it's possible. I'm going to go for it. Garry
  7. OK, just heard about them here. With a film cannister, is it not rather difficult to put a log book and a pen in it?
  8. OK, sorry, I figured it out on my own. I just did a search of this site and found an explanation already. Im' sorry for the false alarm.
  9. What does "velocity made good" mean in my etrex?
  10. OK, today I finally got my etrex venture. It's nice, and I've tried to learn it all in an evening..... getting there.... but accidentally wiped out my track and first route, but now I won't do that again. It's so small... but I like that. Garry
  11. a lot of people recommend the etrex yellow as an entry unit for cost considerations, but for just slightly more money, you can buy an etrex Venture, which has a much higher resolution monitor, the same as the Vista and Legend, and it also has a joystick for easy data entry, and a PC cable, which is nice for firmware upgrades, and also as a way to quickly upload waypoints into your machine. It also allow you to store 10 tracks, instead of just 1. So for just a bit more money, you get quite a bit more etrex.
  12. The etrex venture is only a little bit more money than the basic etrex, but comes with the higher resolution screen, and the joystick to enter data quickly. It also puts more points down for tracks, and can store up to 10 tracks I believe vs. just 1 for the basic etrex. It's also WASS capable. You get quite a bit more etrex for just a bit more money.
